Jim Chaney's a terrific coach. Very smart offensive mind and the players really rallied around him after Dooley was ousted at Tennessee. The credit is usually given to him for Jonathon Crompton going from an embarrassment at QB to a really solid player his final year. He has NFL experience too, so that'd be an extra draw. Narduzzi may be the best on the list, but Chaney's not a guy to overlook. I hated when UT let him go.

Unless it leads to weak grounders most of the time. I'd rather have higher strikeout numbers if it means more solid contact. -
Heard Chattanooga had six sacks against UT. Saturday could definitely be a long day for their QB. Ole Miss fans absolutely aren't overlooking this game though. Tennessee is young but definitely talented. I'm nervous. The offensive line hasn't gotten a bit better from the start of the season to today - which is one of my biggest concerns about the coaching staff. There's talent on the line, but it's been pretty dreadful all year and couldn't even look average against UTC. They're young and inexperienced, but that shouldn't have happened. I think Tennessee can put together a few drives here and there, but it'll have to happen via big plays on short, quick throws because there's no way the line can hold up against Ole Miss' front. There is talent on the outside and in the backfield, though, so if Worley can ever get some time, they can make plays. It's possible LT Jacob Gilliam could be back for the game, though, and that would be helpful as it'd push Kyler Kerbyson to his more natural LG position. I could see a somewhat competitive game at halftime that turns into a bloodbath in the second half when Worley gets knocked out of the game with an injury or the Miss d-linemen just start spending more time in the UT backfield.

Yeah, the east being as down as it is makes evaluating Kentucky tough. They look a lot better than they have in the past couple of years, but is that a result of weaker competition or better play by the Wildcats? I think it's some combination of both, but exactly how much of each is tough to tell. One thing I do know, Tennessee is really unlikely to beat UK unless we improve considerably before then. I've never said that before, even the year we lost to UK.

Not sure who those 5-6 sold teams are. Georgia is very good, Missouri/SC/Kentucky are decent but still have lots of questions, Tennessee and Florida are mediocre at best and Vanderbilt is terrible. I think Missouri and SC are better than they've shown, but they've not been particularly good this year. Kentucky appears to be clearly on the way up, but they've been doing it against teams with a lot of questions (Florida and South Carolina). You could argue as many as 4 solid teams in the east, but that's probably a stretch at this point.

No, the SEC East is just really bad. I'm not sure any SEC fan would disagree with that. From the looks of it, Georgia is the only team that can be mentioned in any sort of national discussion.

I like Hillman, but hate his matchup against the very good run defense of the Jets. Crabtree has been very frustrating with his up and down (mostly down) season. I'm very tempted to go ahead and go all in on the Dolphin running game, but I'd hate to see Knowshon limited to 5 carries or something and get nothing from him. I'd also hate to sit Asiata again and have him score 28 (extremely unlikely I know, but I'm feeling paranoid).

Not a real good looking group, mainly because of matchups. Pick 2 for flex, non-PPR standard: Asiata v Det Hillman @ NYJ Crabtree @ STL Odell @ Phi Hunter v Jax I'm actually leaning Asiata/Hunter, but it may be that I'm just frustrated with Crabtree and feeling like gambling. Also have Knowshon - if he plays, do I start him at the flex? I have Lamar Miller as my RB2.

I agree with everything but Rodgers. Dallas defense has been surprisingly good and the Packers tend to throw more.

Adjustments are absolutely criminal. I've lost a game from an adjustment before, it sucks. Same here. Came from behind to win (I thought) and then an adjustment bumped me back down.

I would have taken the win that way, but apparently the alleged incident happened early Sunday morning. Florida still owes us for the refs calling a Jabar Gaffney obvious drop a TD catch at the end of a game a few years back.

I would assume that he did. When Butch Jones was hired at CMU, my understanding is that he put together a staff from outside the university into one unit at CMU. I don't know that he used any coaches who ever coached under Brian Kelly. Those coaches then followed Butch to Cincy and then, most of them followed him again to Tennessee.

No, my understanding is that Butch put most of these guys together at Central Michigan and they've followed him to Cincy and now UT.

Butch was very insistent on bringing his Central Michigan/Cincinnati guys with him to Tennessee and brought almost all of them. I like Bajakian more than Jancek (who failed miserably already in the SEC at Georgia), but I'm not particularly enthralled with either. Still upset Butch didn't keep Jim Chaney as OC. Tee Martin's only shot at a job here was as, if I recall correctly, WR or RB coach and he turned that down. I really do think we need to have Worley keep the ball on some of these zone reads. I'm not sure if it's his call not to keep it or if the staff is telling him to give it up each time, but no matter how good the line is, in this offense if there's no threat of a QB run, they'll key in on the RB every time and stop him. Worley is more mobile than most give him credit for too - certainly fast enough to pick up a reasonable amount of yards 2-3 times a game.

I wasn't a fan of the gameplan - far too conservative the entire game. They wouldn't move on from the run even though it never came close to working and never tried to attack Florida down the field. Part of that was lack of protection and UF players (Dante Fowler is really good) constantly in the backfield, but they could have taken a couple of shots. Butch also inexplicably decided to punt on 4th and 3 from the UF 38 and, predictably, it went into the end zone. That was probably at least 3 that he gave up on, which would have been critical at the end. I think we're moving along at a decent pace and recruiting is going very well, my concern is the ability of this staff to coach against SEC competition. It's all a bunch of Butch's buddies from his previous stops and so far, when the talent has been even, they've not been able to gameplan a win.

To make a bowl after that debacle against Florida, Tennessee will have to beat 2 of Missouri/South Carolina/Kentucky along with the games they have no business losing (Vandy/UTC). I see no real chance of that happening given the team that showed up yesterday. It's disturbing to me that Butch and co can't seem to win the evenly matched games - Florida last year and this year and Vandy last year. I guess another 5-7 season will be fun.

The Titans really suck this year. Did basically nothing wrong in the first half and then basically nothing right in the second half. Mix in a plethora of questionable illegal contact calls and a very questionable spot reversal keeping us from icing the game and you had an epic collapse. Also, shockingly, Locker got hurt again. Not his fault this time (banged his thumb against Buster Skrine's helmet), but this has been a trend for a while. I'll keep saying it til it happens - it's time to move on to Mettenberger and Sankey and identify what you need for next year.

I was almost kind of expecting this. The Patriots have you thinking they are done and then they come out and play a dominating game. I guess they never ever lose back to back games for a reason Keep in mind they're playing the Bengals - a team that's good for one or two (or more) complete collapses each season.

Tennessee is never going to beat Florida. Ever. This was pathetic excuse for a team and we lost. This sucks.

The Bills' usage of Spiller is infuriating. They put Fred Jackson on the field in 2-minute spots, which seems to be exactly when you'd want Spiller on the field. In an unrelated story, I have owned Spiller every year of his career. This was the first year I've owned him, but I've been intrigued by him since he came into the league. I get giving Jackson the goal line and short yardage carries - that makes perfect sense. I don't get ignoring Spiller in the pass game and, as you said, in the two-minute offense. At least this year he's returning kicks, which gets the ball in his hands a bit more.

I ended up trading Spiller and Kendall Wright for Cruz. Spiller really concerns me since he's TD dependent to be a major part of a team, but he doesn't get goal line touches. Cruz is a risk, but if the Giants' resurgence is real (plenty of reason to think it is) then Cruz is a clear #1 WR.

Back to back series where the Packers didn't hand the ball off to Lacy once. Even though he's had 59 yards on 5 carries. What does McCarthy have against Lacy?
