  1. Even if you aren't a big fan of him, he's #2(!!) on our depth chart right now. But projection wise he's really just Dubrount/Strailey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Would you say the same thing if his FB averaged 92 instead of 90? Two mph more on a FB for a pitcher is pretty significant and should change opinions on a pitcher. Whatever your opinion is of Hendricks, if he could throw harder than he currently can, he would project to be a better pitcher.
  2. I would go Miller and a West but I'm cursed this year. :) I want to go Asiata and West or Miller, but the experts are telling me to go Crabtree over the latter two. Crabtree's the most talented option, but that's a tough matchup and he's been kind of up and down. Plus he's a WR and the rest are RBs.
  3. I just don't think they're as talented as the Bears' duo. Maybe I'm being too harsh, though.
  4. Pick 2, non-PPR standard league: Crabtree @ Arizona (likely matched up mostly with Patrick Peterson) Matt Asiata @ NO Lamar Miller v KC Terrance West v Baltimore Donald Brown @ Buffalo
  5. Having 2 #1 WRs can make you look pretty good. Problem is, most teams don't have 2 #1 WRs. His receivers now are nothing to sneeze at. Jackson is good, but not close to Marshall and only maybe comparable to Jeffrey. Evans is a nice rookie, but was successful in college because he was bigger than everybody else. That's not the case now. I don't mean to talk either down - I like both. They're just not the Marshall/Alshon combo.
  6. I thought the McCown signing was a very good one when it was first announced - figured he'd be a quality backup for Glennon and would be able to help him develop. Then they announced McCown as the starter and I realized things weren't going to go well.
  7. Having 2 #1 WRs can make you look pretty good. Problem is, most teams don't have 2 #1 WRs.
  8. Making a career backup your starting QB is generally a bad idea (Jake Delhomme notwithstanding).
  9. What's wrong with Dalton? He hasn't really put up the points yet this year but is playing well. I think Tennessee has the worst pass D of those opponents too. It depends on if McCourty plays or not. The Titans were containing Dez pretty well until McCourty got hurt. After that, he just made Blidi-Wreh and Sensabaugh look foolish. Latest word is that McCourty "did some stuff in practice today."
  10. You're probably right. I'm just terrified that Spiller will turn into last year's version if I wait too long.
  11. Ultimately I want to upgrade RB, but I'd probably target a WR and then try to spin maybe Crabtree for a RB (very preliminary idea). It is a keeper league (keep 3 and forfeit 1 round from start of draft for each that you keep) and I've got 2 set in stone - Lacy, Dez - and 1 basically set in stone - Peyton.
  12. Got to go with Alshon assuming health. I like Watkins, but have no real confidence in him from week to week. My question is more soliciting advice - should I keep CJ Spiller in the two leagues I have him in and hope he keeps playing well or look to sell high? And if I sell, what is good value for him in a standard, non-PPR league?
  13. The best coach is Nick Saban and it's really not close to the 2nd best.
  14. Among the talking heads locally here, it's said that the post-Lane Kiffin hire in Tennessee came down to Sumlin and Dooley and AD Mike Hamilton chose Dooley even though Sumlin wanted the job. I don't remember even a mention of Sumlin being a target at the time, but if Hamilton passed on Sumlin for Dooley, it's one of the worst decisions ever made at UT.
  15. Very possible, but I kinda doubt it. Nothing to back it up, I just feel like somebody will pull away from the pack and be at 0-1 losses.
  16. Not a huge disagreement, I agree. I just don't think it's nearly as likely as you're implying that they lose more than 2.
  17. That's certainly possible, but I wouldn't say it's very likely that they drop 3 and certainly 4. Florida just looked awful trying to beat a likley .500 or (more likely) below Kentucky team and Arkansas has beaten Nicholls State and a Texas Tech team that barely beat Central Arkansas (42-35) and UTEP (30-26). If either of them beat LSU - even assuming the worst of the Tigers - it'd be a major upset. That would leave 3 losses out of 4 games and, like I said, 2 is a much more likely scenario than 3.
  18. What is "plenty" in your view? They play 4 ranked teams the rest of the year (Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, TAMU) and, while I wasn't terribly impressed by their Wisconsin game, I have trouble seeing them lose more than 2 of those. I guess 2 could be considered plenty, but I think they'll likely get better as the season goes along and three of their toughest games are in the final 4 weeks.
  19. He wasn't charged? He was arrested and released on bail. Whats the difference between what the media is reporting as being charged with child abuse, and "formally" being charged? Maybe I'm wrong...I know that McDonald wasn't...looks like AP might've been. He has been charged (that's what the indictment was), but he hasn't been convicted yet. That may be what they (and the 49ers as well) are waiting on.
  20. 0 targets as well, I heard.
  21. Yes. That's what I said. Four Top 10 teams in a FIVE week span. Oops, I should have reread that. For some reason I had it stuck in my mind you said four top 10 teams in a row.
  22. Alabama, LSU and Auburn are going to be difficult to argue against being top 10 teams. TAMU demolished a top 10 team to get to where they are, but it's a legit argument that they jumped too high too fast. Though OMC isn't quite right - Ole Miss gets 2 straight top 10 teams, Tennessee, and then 2 straight top 10 teams.
  23. That's BS. The guy on the sideline's job is to know where the HC is so that if the TO request happens, he knows if it's from the HC or not. What if he locates the coach and there's a player or assistant coach standing right beside him? Ref hears "timeout" being hollered from the location of the head coach (not realizing it's coming from an assistant or player) and blows the play dead. That's different from this exact situation, but is an example of why I think Pereira is right and you don't blame the ref in this situation.
  24. http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/696050/alexwtf.0.gif Haha, exactly. The announcers treated it as if he just barely crossed the line. Nantz said he thought it might be a step or two over and Simms wondered if his entire body was across the line.
  25. Alex Smith just ran about 3-4 yards past the line of scrimmage before passing the ball. It was the most blatant illegal forward pass I've ever seen. Had he just held the ball and ran, he'd have put the Chiefs in FG position. Instead, they had to punt.
