  1. Maybe it's first game jitters, but it's looking like I really overrated South Carolina.
  2. Man, either these offenses are awesome or these defenses are pathetic.
  3. SEC Network is basically ESPN3.
  4. Deshazor Everett's gotten beat both times. He seems to be the main problem. Carolina can't stop A&M either, though.
  5. Make that 2 huge mistakes.
  6. I've been pretty impressed with Seals-Jones so far - real good size and seems to always have the advantage on the DB. And I wish Cam Clear hadn't been an idiot at Tennessee, he'd have been a nice talent to have right now.
  7. A&M looking pretty good so far.
  8. Seem to be really solid everywhere except TE. Not sold on Olson. If Tim Wright is still available, he might be a good one to pick up. Could put up great numbers in Aaron Hernandez's old role in NE. I think Olsen could be quite good this year, for a mid to low tier TE. He'll almost certainly be Cam's #1 option, but I may take a look at Tim Wright - that's not a bad idea at all.
  9. I love your WRs and a nice mix of young, promising RBs eith vets who might get a bulk of the load. Very good team, though I definitely might think about keeping an eye out for other QB options.
  10. That's a good point. Maybe I'm being irrational in my Stacy concern.
  11. Spot is filled.
  12. They were also within 5 of beating Seattle at home and within 10 of beating San Francisco on the road. It's the very definition of a decent but not great or awful team - look really good against some good teams, look really bad against other good teams. And most of that was without Bradford - add him in and 8-9 wins is completely realistic with 10 as a longshot possibility.
  13. And now a spot has reopened if anybody is interested. Draft is Thursday night at 8 and anybody interested can PM me or post in this thread. It's a pretty solid league you'd be joining too.
  14. What's everybody's thoughts on Stacy after Bradford's injury? They're going to run more than they would have, but is there any reason whatsoever for teams to not put 9 in the box against them? And if they put 8-9 in the box, can Stacy run anyway?
  15. I think I really like this team. 12-team, non-PPR, standard scoring. QB Kaepernick RB Lacy Ellington Pierre Thomas Lamar Miller Andre Williams LeGarrette Blount WR Dez Keenan Allen Crabtree Justin Hunter Brandin Cooks Kelvin Benjamin TE Greg Olsen K Gould D/ST matchup
  16. The spot has been filled.
  17. Only the one spot available.
  18. I'm in a keeper ESPN fantasy league that definitely has one opening and could have as many as 2 more. CCP, raw, IMB and I are among those in the league and I think it's pretty solid overall. You keep up to 3 players and the team you'd inherit is decent. It's a snake draft with picks eligible to be traded. Keeper deadline is Aug 27 and draft is Aug 28. If you're interested or want more info, shoot me a PM or post it here. First come, first served.
  19. Inconsistent isn't the right word, but he's definitely not been what he once was the past three years.
  20. Especially when just a quick glance at Fangraphs shows he's been worth 8.2 WAR so far in his career - and he's 21 years old. But he's clearly "not great by a longshot." He's been kinda bad (by his standards) this year though. Not sure what the deal is there, but trading him for just about any package would be a terrible mistake.
  21. Considering your continued instance that he's nowhere near as good as other 3B options the Cubs have, I took that as sarcasm. I was simply trying to point out that Castro's offense right now is something to be appreciated and celebrated. No, Tulo is something to be celebrated. In his age 24 season, Tulo did this: .263/.332/.401/.733 He shot up to a .929 OPS in 2009, but he was very Castro-esque at 24 (Castro's current age).

  23. He'll continue to be a guy whose .750 OPS at a position of value is appreciated if not celebrated. His current .757 OPS would make him the 10th best 3B in the majors offensively. He'd be 16 points away from Sandoval and Carpenter for 8th best. A .750 OPS would put him 12th, just behind Valbuena. I would guess his defense would be pretty solidly plus as well. And that's with Castro being the 2nd youngest player on that list (behind Rendon).
  24. And they didn't have to guarantee anything beyond 2 years. If he broke out this year, they'd have to guarantee a whole lot more than that. Plus, he couldn't take them anywhere in the playoffs without more talent around him. That's a nice team, but the Law Firm and other decent but not good players got way too many snaps for them to do anything in the postseason without a Flacco-esque fluke - and you shouldn't pay somebody for an unrepeatable fluke.
  25. Only $17 million is guaranteed. That's not bad.
