The top 10 went really bad for us, I think. I figure Barr and Gilbert were likely both targets and word is that the Titans to ready to pull the trigger on a trade with (I believe) the Browns, but the Browns pulled out at the last second. After that, my guess is they just decided to go BPA and fill a future need (no chance Roos resigns I'll bet). I would have preferred Mosley or Fuller, but given the way the first round went down, I don't have a problem with the Lewan pick. Taking Jones surprised me a bit, but I like it. Big enough to play the nose when we go 3-4, but athletic enough to play in the 4-3 front as well. I would have preferred Thomas there, but have no problem with Jones. I've never really been on the Locker bandwagon since he was drafted. Wanted Kaepernick before that draft and just didn't see enough upside in Locker. He seemed too much like a pick to go as far away from Vince as possible - we failed with a super talented headcase, so we drafted a hard working, good character guy who happened to not be extremely talented. That was one problem I had during the Munchak regime - they seemed to avoid any guys with character issues without consideration for their talent. Ultimately I don't think Mettenberger will become a starter, but I like taking the chance. Worst case scenario is we jump at a Mariota/Winston/Hundley type in the first round next year.
