  1. I've seen nothing to make me change my mind that I would've preferred Mosley over Lewan in the draft. Not that I dislike Lewan, but Mosley is going to be terrific (and may be now).
  2. No good options since some guys are carrying 3-4 TEs. Thanks. Eifert's out for awhile, so he'll at least have no real competition Yeah, that's a good point. Kelce was tempting me, but Gresham's more established. FWIW, Reed's comments after the KC game sound promising that Kelce will get a bigger role in the coming weeks. He's probably not start-worthy right now, but he's got a ton of potential. Hmm, thanks. I'll have to keep an eye on him.
  3. As a Titan fan, I'm cautiously optimistic. The defense looked really good against KC, but that Chief offense is pretty awful outside of Charles and Reid was determined not to give him the football. I think the type of players on D suits a 3-4 better than a 4-3 and they've made some nice moves to bring in more talent (really liked the Groves addition). Offensively, there's an undeniable amount of talent throughout the team. Veterans like Nate Washington and Delanie Walker mix well with the young guys. Kendall Wright is a great slot receiver with room for improvement and I really think this could be a breakout year for Justin Hunter - he has the potential to be an elite deep threat WR and maybe an elite all around one. The running game will be mediocre until Sankey is ready to take over full time, which I'm hoping is soon because Shonn Greene isn't good. My biggest concern right now is Jake Locker and not just because of his health. Throughout the preseason and Sunday, Locker has been throwing high and his accuracy (while admittedly not borne out in the stats) has been shaky. I'm really afraid he's going to get a WR hurt or toss some INTs that he shouldn't with as often as he's throwing high. The injury issues just compound my concerns. Locker will need to really make a good argument to convince me that I'm wrong about Mettenberger being the more likely franchise QB on the roster. I like raw's confidence in the Titans, but playoffs this year might be a tad bold - though I wouldn't rule it out either. I think next year could be a really nice year if this coaching staff can develop these young guys and then the trajectory would be straight up.

  6. This is as much an add/drop question as anything, but whoever I add will start: 2TE league, this is my second TE (Graham is my #1 and Reed got hurt) Who do I pick up? Levine Toilolo Jermaine Gresham Travis Kelce Niles Paul Ladarius Green
  7. I'll remain skeptical until he pitches his first game as a Cub.
  8. I'm really surprised he didn't work out there. He has the NFL pedigree (successful or not, he's still coached there), the recent high level success at Hawaii and a whole bunch of money with nice facilities at SMU. Really thought he'd make them a factor as a midmajor.
  9. The same thing has happened at Tennessee. Legendary coach gets fired for not living up to expectations and program collapses. Two bad coaching hires and we're pretty much nationally irrelevant. High end head coaches in college football are extremely valuable commodities and letting them go should not be done flippantly.
  10. Things are going to get really ugly, really quick for Tennessee this week.
  11. Cordarrelle Patterson is a freakish athlete.
  12. I think every pass Jake Locker has missed has been high. That's not good. Even a few completions have been high.
  13. Titan D looking good, but I suspect that's just because the Chiefs are terrible when Charles isn't awesome.
  14. He's coaching a team that has really dropped off in talent level the past few years and is implementing a brand new system. Texas has won 8,9,8 the past 3 years and BYU is a decent mid-major that beat down a very similar Texas team last year. Especially after his success at Louisville, it's way too early to deem him a failure at Texas.
  15. Yep. I thought everyone saying the heat would be to Oregon's advantage was getting ahead of themselves. It's not like Oregon is used to this type of weather up there and a lot of their losses have come when their defense wore out against ball control offenses that controlled TOP. Yeah, the heat talk threw me off too. Their defense already struggles with stamina because of their breakneck offense, there's no way the heat is helping them.
  16. The Oregon defense is beginning to look kinda weak. MSU driving fairly easily right now.
  17. So far, Oregon/MSU is not disappointing. Also, ECU is up 13-7 on South Carolina (still early). Not sure how good ECU is, but I'm starting to have some real doubts about the Gamecocks.
  18. That's embarrassing.
  19. Yeah, definitely should have kicked it.
  20. I agree it's a terrible decision either way, but it at least feels a little less terrible if going for it on 4th down weren't an option.
  21. I'm hoping that it was at least 4th and goal from the 29 or something on that punt. Was it?
  22. That's why Crabtree was one of my favorite draft targets this year. Eli and Cruz have a good connection too, though, and I'm not sure which will connect better.
  23. I'd go Tate - I'd say he scores once even if he doesn't get 100 yards. Terrance West also apparently isn't close to cutting into Tate's carries, so whatever Cleveland gets on the ground will be almost exclusively Tate. For me: Steven Jackson or Lamar Miller Cruz or Crabtree
  24. If we're only looking at this year, how much impact will Dee Ford have without starting? The opportunity cost isn't between huge impact and no impact, it's between what impact Ford has and what impact the QB may have (likely very little this year). It would appear he was drafted as a long term option behind Hali, which is exactly what the QB would be. If we're looking at long term, there's little chance there would be an opportunity cost unless the QB busted. But that's a possibility - and a strong one - with anybody you draft.
  25. Is there that much more risk by drafting a young QB last year? Let's say you take Bridgewater and then let Smith play out the stretch this year as you groom the rookie. After the season, you still have the opportunity to negotiate with Smith and can even use the rookie as leverage to pay him less. If you feel good about the rookie, let Smith walk. Having a great offensive coach is all the more reason to believe that you can develop a young QB.
