  1. He was well-regarded while in Tennessee, but I haven't seen much improvement from his QBs (Locker, Hoyer, Manziel).
  2. worse look: yanking an offer from a commit two weeks prior to NSD http://www.tennessean.com/story/vols/2015/01/21/marques-ford-decommits-tennessee/22123845/ That's one of the really crappy parts of college football. Feel bad for the kid.

Yeah, rumor is Tampa QB coach. It sucks too - Bajakian was one of the few coaches Butch brought in that I really liked.
  4. Green Bay imploded about as impressively as I've ever seen any team implode. Wilson started throwing the ball to his receivers in single coverage and they started catching it And the Packers allowed a 2nd and 31 conversion, gave up an onside kick and Clinton-Dix decided he didn't want to cover a player on a 2-point conversion. Those are all on Green Bay.
  5. Even still, in the original scenario, if you fail to score after passing up the TD you're guaranteed to lose. The Packers still have to drive down against the best defense in the league in the scenario that happened.
  6. If you wanted an upset, GB/Seattle was about the only shot for one. For some reason, I have 0 faith in Indy to pull off the upset tonight.

  8. That's a good point. Odds are on your side to convert the conversion, though - they just didn't run that one well at all.
  9. It wouldn't surprise me if Lane's ambition overrode his intelligence. He puts up a good front, though, so I think he'd have a shot to make it work.
  10. What happens is you go into overtime instead of losing. Something goes wrong with your plan, Seattle loses. Something goes wrong with what they did, they go to OT. The latter is better than the former.
  11. Most likely, but what happens if there's a bad snap and GB gets the ball? Or GB is able to put up a great stand? Both scenarios are very unlikely, but can happen and would cost you your season. You can't take that chance.
  12. Tavaris Jackson? Haven't heard his name in quite a while.
  13. this is going to OT, better question is why Lynch didnt stop at the 1. 4 plays to score a TD, they would have and run down some time When you've got the TD, you don't pass it up if you're down. Too many weird things could happen.
  14. Had Clinton-Dix done literally anything on that 2-point conversion, Packers would be about to win.
  15. Good question - plus Seattle has 1 timeout left should they try and succeed with a hail mary into field goal range.
  16. What in the world was Clinton-Dix doing there?
  17. It's very impressive how the Packers have blown this thing.
  18. That's very likely.
  19. Absolutely Same for me.
  20. I saw one ref pointing to it. Not sure why the call on the field is a TD Had they called him out of bounds, would they have been able to review it since the play would have been blown dead? That may be why they gave the TD to him.
  21. Lane has actually proven to be pretty versatile when it comes to offensive schemes. While at Tennessee, he had an immobile QB and ran a vertical, pro-style offense that rarely was in the shotgun. At Alabama with Blake Sims, he ran a lot more shotgun than at Tennessee and mixed in QB runs effectively. Lane is a lot of things, but a very good, versatile offensive coach is one of those.
  22. The quotes can add some good depth to your story and gives fans more info than simply regurgitating what happened on the field. I can't prove anything here, but I'd wager that more fans than not want to get reactions from the players they follow about a big game or a big call (hearing from Dez on last week's call for instance) even if the answers are just canned and meaningless. Personally, I agree more with you. I don't really care if a player speaks after the game or not because I know 99% of the time, you're just going to get meaningless canned responses. But bosses have expectations, a lot of fans have expectations and 5-10 minutes isn't exactly asking a ton. That said, if the NFL dropped the fines for media availability tomorrow, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
  23. Floor is probably the wrong word for it - maybe low end expectation. If that's low end he's gotta be one of the safest QB picks in recent memory, save for Luck. There's no question his bust potential is much higher than Luck's, but I'd put it much lower than Winston's. And Dalton isn't exactly a really high bar either - 61% completions and 99:66 TD:INT, pretty much an average QB at best. His highest DVOA is 13 and his highest DYAR is 12 - usually he's 15th to 22nd. Mariota's certainly got a bust factor to him, I just don't see that as an expectation. Just like the high end expectation isn't the greatest QB in history, even though there's certainly some slim possibility that he (just like most any high draft pick) becomes that. I'm talking about if he develops into a starting NFL QB, this is the range we could reasonably expect from him.
