  1. Yards Per Pass Play Rankings #2: OU=9.7 #4: UF=9.2 #13: Navy=8.5 Better watch out for the Navy passing offense....#13 in yards per passing play. GT is around #25, beware their air attack too.
  2. Whose offense was better in this game. Texas, they outgained em by over 100 yards. Why did Texas run so many plays compared to OSU? Because Texas can sustain drives!. Who gives a flying f how many plays you run as long as you move the ball. They had 33 first downs, of course they are going to run alot of plays. Teams would die for an offense to move the ball so consistantly, OSU drag all year has been they rely on the big play so much to move the ball and score, its a hit or miss offense with Pryor throwing the ball(an unrepeatable offense). Pryor was 5-14 for 66 yards, whooppee. Yeah it took McCoy 59 times to reach 414, how good of an offense would it be it they decided to run against OSU defense? Not good. He was their dimension OSU couldnt stop, exploit it. Even if i just watched this game by itself I have no doubt whose offense is better and which one i would prefer. Texas.
  3. Rotoworld has contract info. Search for a player and then click on 'Details' next to his contract information.
  4. Michigan gave up less passing yards than Bama. What im saying is thats not saying much for Bama's defense against Utah last night.
  5. Yeah but you followed the Cubs all of last year so you know DeRosa made a change to his swing. How do you know Miles didn't change anything? I bet Indians fans are wondering if DeRosa's season was a fluke last year too because they didn't hear anything about a step being added to his swing. I actually heard a little bit about it when DeRosa was a Ranger and then looked more into it when the Cubs signed him. I knew about DeRosa's stance change before he was a Cub, though. Yes. He worked with Jaramillo in Texas in 06 and changed the stance. So since his change he has had 3 good years, thus making his improvement in #s less 'flukey'. Flukey isnt a word but who cares.
  6. Ill take the 2006 or 07 Derosa again forget 2008. This deal saves $3M, why didnt they just save $5.5M and count on Fontenot, and if money was so tight good job overpaying for Kevin Gregg (if they didnt trade for him they wouldnt need this DeRosa salary dump, theres your $3M+ savings). Aaron Miles #s were so much predicated on his almost 30 point swing in average compared to his career #s. If anybody is going to have their game regress in 09 its Miles more than DeRosa, if Miles bats .315 again i dont know what i would do with myself. Another nice sucky feature about the Miles signing/DeRosa trade is in '10 they are going to have $2.5M tied up in Aaron Miles instead of having that flexibility in resigning players or FA.
  7. You must of slept through the Mike Shula days then. 26-23. Which is like Minnesota B10 good. 2004 Music City Bowl: Minnesota 20, Bama 16 So not even that good.
  8. Dude has been a modern day woody hayes on the sideline tonight.
  9. Holy crap Utah is playing really good. Their fans are going nuts and i dont blame em.
  10. I was surprised how bad PSU was getting gashed in the passing game. Sanchez 80% and 400 yards? PSU stopped the run really well but the passing defense just couldnt hold up. I thought PSU offense did pretty well minus the mistakes. They threw for twice as many yards as USC gives up on average. I didnt have them winning but i didnt have them getting gashed through the air like Michigan does agains USC, that was a surprise.
  11. Ole Miss ranks in the bottom qtr of passing defense in the SEC. They produced the most sacks with 35. Tech on the other hand has only allowed 13 sacks, and thats with all the passing they do. If Ole Miss gets their pressure and sacks via the blitz thats not a good recipe against Tech. Blitzing them seems to be futile. I question on well they are going to match up against TT offense. So fumble recoveries are random, i can buy into that a little more(50% is pretty convincing). But i dont think you can pick a moment in the game and then say that this specific fumble was random or it shouldnt be looked at seriously (how many times did fumbles helped Ole Miss gotta throw those out too then). Who fumbled, was it Mike Hart or Rashan Salaam, does that defense force a lot of fumbles like the Chicago Bears, etc. If Ole Miss is like Rashan Salem then they deserve to lose fumbles over time. Putting the ball on the ground, even though it could be random event on who recovers, isnt a good thing. If you dont put it on the ground you retain possession 100% of the time not 50%, fumbles hurt.
  12. Hurray they fired the secondary coach, passing defense to improve! Babich is way more to blame than this guy. This is a scapegoat move just to make a move.
  13. You know its bowl season when they show shots of the qbs family 3,000 times. SOB, this needs to stop. Reminded me of the Brady Quinn family shots during the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State. I did like the shot of the family after the FG missed and nobody was cheering. Some girl a row back mouthed 'whats happening?' Um he missed the freaking FG dumbass. I thought NW played a good game last night.
  14. How does Marvin Lewis still have a job? He is a defense minded coach and they arent very good nor have they ever been since he took over. Since he left Baltimore they havent missed him either.
  15. The problem is Marinelli was promoted directly from DLine coach to HC. He doesnt have a DC resume to fall back on like Dick LeBeau did. I would be fine with him as DLine coach, im not sure what upgrade he would be over Babich at coordinator.
  16. Oh and that ruling that the Bears couldnt challenge the spot because it wasnt a first down needs to be corrected. Thats a freakin joke.
  17. as long as the panthers don't use their franchise tag on chris gamble they'll definitely slap it on peppers. i can't imagine a scenario in which they let him walk. terrell suggs is a really good pass rusher who may end up on the free agent market. at least i think he's less of a pipe dream than peppers. Yeah i forgot about the possiblity of franchising Peppers, thats a huge hurdle. I dont know if Suggs can be a down lineman in 4-3 defense like the Bears run. They need to find some RDE that makes more of an impact at pass rushing than Alex Brown.
  18. My picks by conference. B10: 1-6. Iowa B12: 6-1. OSU SEC: 2-6 P10: 5-0 ACC: 5-5 I dont have anything less than a 10 point game left. The Group Picks chart is sweet.
  19. I dont know how you can explain what happened to the Cowboys. They were the best team in the NFC last year and it was a suprise they got beat by the Giants in the playoffs. They are a much better assembly of talent than this years record shows. I dont know if this had to do with anything but they seemed really cocky this year. This could be the most talented team to not make the playoffs that i can think of. I like the Eagles team, they have a real shot at going to the SB.
  20. What was up with the Manning at FS but then nickel back when they would go 3 wide plan. That seemed very strange to me. My areas of concentration: OL and DE. If Julius Peppers is a FA go after him hard. This defense relies on the blitz too much to force pressure and teams do quick slants, hot routes etc to combat it. The Bucs took their defense to the level of domination with the addition of Simeon Rice; the DT on this team are good, a guy like Peppers might really take it to another level like Rice did (their LBs werent better than the current Bears and it wasnt anybody in the secondary other than Barber and Lynch that were noteworthy). This team really needs an edge rusher. Ogun and Brown dont give that added presense to this team anymore. Oline: Find a replacement for Garza and/or Tait. Give Forte a really good oline. Hester made some real progress as a WR. He has the abiltiy to get open underneath with nice slant routes and quick outs/curls or even fades if they guard him tight at the line, what i really like was he makes some terrific double moves to get open deep and get beyond the CB and S. He is inconsistent with his hands, thats the weakness i see from him, i think he will get better with that. It all starts up front and thats where the Bears need to start the FA and draft.
  21. Going to the bar. The Detroit game is televised here so i need to go to a bar that has the ticket. We just had our county vote for beer on Sundays a couple weeks ago so more people will be there. About 90% of the people at the bar will be Bear fans so that makes it more fun too. Yeah this is sweet. If they can get in the playoffs thats another week of Bears football, plus playoffs games are amped up to another level.
  22. To bad about Brown, the last 5-6 i thought he was playing very well and making some nice plays. The only players on the defense playing better during that time were Briggs and maybe Urlacher. This team is talented, not Dallas Cowboys talented but still have some good talent on the roster. The Bucs, Panthers, Falcons, Eagles Vikings, and Colts didnt blow me away with the amount of talent on their rosters. I wasnt like oh my god they have a lot of work ahead of them to catch up to these guys. Should be an exciting Sunday, getting in the playoffs would be great.
  23. Dont get me started on 3rd and long zone coverage. you adding fire to my inferno over here.
  24. Damn it. Like Raw said it was there for their taking.
