  1. Haha he yelled at somebody oh no. Ronny made some nice progress this year, he's young cheap and versatile. He's a good 24/25 man. I wouldnt be in a hurry to ship him away without something of value coming back.
  2. So far I think Dallas is the best team despite these numbers. The NYG/Dal game will tell me a lot. Im beginning to be a big believer in Washington too. Yeah the NFC east is great.
  3. Detroit, KC and GB are near the bottom on rushing yards allowed. Tampa and Carolina are around 100 ypg and thats about what Atlanta got against them. The Bears after five games ave 74 yards per game against the run. The wont completely stop them but Atlanta isnt going to run roughshot on this defense and get their 180ypg average unless the Bears meltdown and give up some really big run plays. The Bears wont be nickeled and dimed by the falcons run, they need some 30-40+ yard runs against the Bears to make some noise. Eliminate the long runs and that leaves Matt Ryan beating this defense, i like those odds.
  4. Norwood and Turner arent going to do enough to beat this defense. Offenses need to have more than one dimension to beat this defense. If they march up and down the field running the ball then the falcons are bad ass. Ryan is going to be put in positions of 2nd and 3rd and long. Thats where the Bears D has a huge advantage.
  5. Well that was the complete and total destruction i was looking for. I swear the only offensive yards Detroit got was when Manning blitzed from the side Roy Williams was on and they threw quick outs and ins to that vacated spot. Millen totally ruined that offense by bringing the run heavy OC. The lions have real solid 4 WRs which also helped hide the Olines play. Now they are dependant on the oline. Whatta cluster. Orton made some really nice throws, missed a couple but he at least made some nice ones down the field this time. Oh and Bookers catch was AMAZING. I jumped out of my seat and yelled 'oh howry' all the way on the other side of the stadium when that happened. My weekly nag of Ron Turner. This was in the first half. 2nd and 1 run up the middle, stuffed. 3rd and 1 run up the middle, no change in personel stuffed. 4th and 1 still no change in personel and they throw a FB pass McKie to the corner? Cmon that was awfull. Im not going to call for a complete domination of the falcons but Matt Ryan is going to be under a lot of pressure to move that offense.
  6. i worry about their defensive line being thin with all the suspensions and guys getting kicked off the team. i still think they may wear down against run-heavy teams like ohio st and wisconsin (the two toughest games left). two got reinstated today and should stay on the team as long as the university police don't find evidence to press charges. The team seems to have a ton of depth everywhere, which is a nice luxury. yeah they need evans and koroma, for sure. they're weak in the middle; baker was a starter and taylor was a good run-stopper who got regular playing time. i really wish those guys weren't complete morons and sean lee hadn't blown out his knee; i'd be thinking undefeated season. i still don't think we can win in the shoe. Why? OSU doesnt do anything but get some big plays on offense with Wells and Pryor. They dont march up and down the field on people at will. Really, what ive seen so far i think PSU is much the better team offensively. Just dont do a Michigan and fumble the ball all over the place.
  7. Dude cmon. Dont be humble. The defense and coaching of Penn State is beyond rock solid. No one in the B10 is beyond a formidable oppenent to them. Nobody scares them in the B10. The only offensive teams could be Mizzou and OU.
  8. the big thing is the o-line... in 2005 they had a good veteran o-line and this year they do too. in 2006 the o-line was young and lousy; last year they were better but not great. they were also bad during the early '90s. also, i dunno if i'd consider the offense dynamic in 2005. a lot of the points they scored were against bad teams; against the good opponents (ohio st, michigan, florida st) they struggled offensively and relied more on their defense. we'll find out how good the offense is when they face good defenses like ohio st, michigan and wisconsin. Maybe not 'dynamic' but more versatile and less predictable?? UM's defense is solid but the O could destroy the game negatively against PSU, and OSU's & Wisky's offense cant match what ive seen so far far PSU's team. So far they are the front runners if they dont shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers and big plays.
  9. PSU is the team to beat in the B10. No doubt. Its never been a question of their D. Undefeated??? 20% might not be pie in the sky, they can beat OSU, Wisky and etc.
  10. PSU's offense. Really its like wtf. They are so dynamic with the Mrobs and D Clark(its not always a shotgun spread) but beyond vanilla with the drop back qbs. They can adapt to the talent so quickly, but yet with the 'drop back system qb' they can suck so hard.
  11. Holy Howry, i left Michigan for dead after the first half. The offense was so freaking bad i was laughing on the phone with friends, i wondered out loud how are they are ever going to win 1 or 2 more games this year. The game should of been closer at half except for the fumbles. How this offense turned it around i still cant believe. The defense was really solid and the Dline was stellar against a top notch oline and running game. I actually saw Michigan blitz, bring some heat and remain aggressive with a TD lead and less than 5 to go. Whatta concept. And how the hell does the 2008 Florida/UM game get in this thread. I am so biting my lip and not going off on those comments and that whole season with Michigan. I dont want to clutter this thread but in summary...what you saw in that game was the mother fn howry we had been calling for from LLoyd to do all year and let the offense loose with that talent. /rant Im looking forward to this PSU/Illini game.
  12. Pryor with a long TD run. He looks awfully familiar to Vince Young how he runs the ball.
  13. I think its too early to use the data to project probability of finishing undefeated. The SOS of these teams is yet to be challenged. Florida at 35% seems absurdly high. PSU has played cubcakes, yes they have been crushing their opponents but lets see them face a challenge first before we assign 20%. Missouri at less than 1% and Alabama at 6% doesnt pass the judgement test. I think in 2 or 3 weeks when these teams face some real challenges is when this data starts to become useful.
  14. if sheets is hurt id like to see mil make the playoffs.
  15. i was going to post about not really given a flying eff about this game. and i see some posts about a chic and a bunch of comments below. maybe im not the only one not on the edge or my seat so far. oooh Aram puts one on a frozen rope. that was cool.
  16. Carolinas longests drives: 55=TD 52=FG 33=INT 26=TD As you can see they had 2 possesions you could maybe classify as 'drives'. If the Bears put up 17 and move the ball with a little more consitancy they should win with this defese. If they arent going to score at least win the field position battle and dont turn the ball over on their side of the field. Greise or Garcia dont worry me with this defense. John Gilmore had a 36 yard catch last game, how the hell did the falcons let that happen, dude must of been WIDE open. Maybe Orton can connect on a long one this game, just one time.
  17. They had this game. The defense was awesome but got stuck with a short field all the time. Bears controlled the first half and offense looked decent then. Turner then decided to shut it down in the fourth quarter and play close to his vest. The 4th and 1 call was a freakin joke. At least lose the game with the ball in forte's hands. Forte had some nice runs to get a first down but stupid penalties on the line, i swear it must just be the presence of Fred Miller. Positives: LLoyd, Forte, Orton in the first half, Defense.
  18. I avoid all things OSU Thats impossible if you live in Columbus. You must be a hermit. And yeah yesterday they were saying he was playing, now they say doubtful. Quick turn of events. I think Tressel was just kidding himself about Wells playing. not a hermit, I just don't read the local paper and avoid local sports radio unless I'm driving to the grocery store or something. it's not hard to avoid. it's not like I live on campus Yeah i know, just ribbing ya, i dont need to tell you about Columbus and the buckeyes. Youd think that city would have the tornado alarms going off or something by this news.
  19. I avoid all things OSU Thats impossible if you live in Columbus. You must be a hermit. And yeah yesterday they were saying he was playing, now they say doubtful. Quick turn of events. I think Tressel was just kidding himself about Wells playing.
  20. yeah me too. this was definetly up there.
  21. WTH. yeah thats like exacty what this team needs right now. That deserves a Shamwow.
  22. WOW. Did he really get him.... FN another hit
  23. really freaking really. GB to 3b. DUde is pounding the ball on the ground alot.
  24. Come on, did he jump up and down, do a throat slash, flap his arms like a rooster, and mess his pants? close. he jumped, gave a primal yell, squatted, clenched his fists.....let's not be complete homers about this. I'm on record saying I don't care that either act like they do, but let's not pretend that the Cubs don't do it The difference is that Marmol does it after he just got himself out of a potentially game-saving jam, and Valverde does it after getting 3 straight outs with his team up 2 or 3 runs. and he's not a Cub. don't forget that part Valverde does it EVERYTIME. Marmol does it once, thus it was just emotion. Valverde is a routine/show.
