  1. Holy poopoo. now the Bear offense is sucking it against the pack. 2 1st downs!!?? Ish.
  2. 4 of my first 5 picks are the 1,2,3,4 points. Tomorrow i have Boise at 5. I planned on bringing the heat late. 8-) I also notice that i only have 6 remaining underdogs winning. That doesnt sound like enough.
  3. Wow pretty good last couple days for the Bears. Bucs, Boys, Birds and the Vikings lose. 4 for 4 this week.
  4. ESPN bottom line says Boras seeks $195M. Boston and LA by their own admission are out. Who is he throwing that number at? Yeah i know Boras throws around crazy numbers and settles for less but in the past he threw those numbers out around mid november not mid december.
  5. Wow that Big Mo guy is fat. Freakin fat. I like that guy and the highlight is sweet. Ted Washington and Pat Williams are huge but really fat around the waist This dude is huge and fat everywhere. :-))
  6. PLease tell me you heard Tebow's interview with Mel Kiper? My goodness, it was so funny. Kiper suggested that he would be a great Frank Wycheck type in the NFL... HBack. Tebow handled it well, to his credit, by asking what he needed to do to be seen as a QB and not just a "playmaker" at the next level. But, Kiper basically told him that he was not an NFL QB, but instead more of a FB/TE/HBack. It was priceless. I heard clips from it. It was quite funny, but at the same time true. Tebow is a terrific athlete who can excel at the next level as an athlete. Kiper's right, he's an H-back/TE/FB type player. He could be really, really good at that, though. With the NFL incorporating more wildcat formations, he would be one of the few who would really be a threat to pass. I cant remember where i read but some guy thought he might be worth a 3rd round pick for that alone, if he got banged up big deal he was just a 3rd round pick anyway (i dont know how much i believe it but i thought it was interesting). He could be a ultraback plus wildcat qb. I remember Culpepper being a bad ass around the 5 yard line running draws, Tebow could still be the one man playaction he is in college for those type of plays.
  7. 10-2 all the time. A 2-10 UM team does not beat OSU (ok they would technically be 1-10 going into the game but you know what im sayin). New Years Day bowl games are good thing entertainment wise. If Michigan had beat OSU it would of been sweet, exciting and funny but no way would of it overshadowed the entire season. And i want to make something perfectly clear, i absolutely freaking hate Michigan losing to Ohio State, but 10 losses blows.
  8. 1995 really? hmmm. I was a senior in college that year, that probably explains it. That must of sucked, good thing i dont remember that. Last week i wanted the Lions to win. For the last 6 or 7 weeks my wife and i were hoping for a 0-16 season from those guys. I had to sell her that we are going to root for them to win. I told her, 'the lions need to lose this week, our lives depend on it'. This tiebreaker position the Bears are in feels like a slow death.
  9. I cant remember the Bears making or losing out of the playoffs because of a tiebreaker. They've been in or out because of record alone. Being on the short end of a tiebreaker stick sucks.
  10. Scout.com Auburn board. 1 being poorest, 10 being best rate the Chizik hire Poll ends on 12/20/2008 1: 207 votes 2: 50 votes 3: 37 votes 4: 12 votes 5: 14 votes 6: 12 votes 7: 12 votes 8: 5 votes 9: 1 vote 10: 39 votes
  11. Did the B12 have some secret meeting where they got all 12 coaches in a room and they decided..'eff it, lets not bother with the defense anymore, its not as fun as offense anyways'. I mean really the notion that a WHOLE conference doesnt play defense seems silly to me. I actually googled 'B12 cant play defense' to see what came up. I could of just googled diarrhea and got the same crap. There are reasons they have some really proficient offenses. The 2 biggest are QBs and using spread offenses. If these teams were putting up these numbers with traditional offenses i might buy more into the arguement that they dont play defense. McCoy, Bradford, Harrell, Daniel together are probably the most talented group of qbs ever playing under one conference at the same time(Reesing is good, but not quite in these guys class, he is probably the most 'system' qb of these 4; Z. Robinson doesnt get the attention he deserves either) AND they run offenses that amplify their skills. The B10 doesnt have any QB that can stack up to the main 4 from the B12, their best is Clark and thats probably all they really have for really good qbs from that conference (coincidently PSU has the best offense in the B10 and they run a form of a spread offense). The SEC is just Tebow and Stafford for really good qbs. CFB offense is all about the Qbs and the B12 has got 'em.
  12. Rosenthal says its 5/91 from the yankees. The guy has got the 'stuff' but he still yet to really put it all together.
  13. Unless Bradford bolts for the NFL, each of these guys will be in the same room same time next year. So if your tired of splitting hairs between Bradford, McCoy and Tebow you'll get another chance to hear the arguments all over again. Any of these 3 are deserving of the Heisman. I dont think i could of ever said that before about the all invitees in years past.
  14. Id really like the Saints to run a 3 TE offense like the Jags did, probably not gonna happen though. :-)) In the NFC Champ game Brees said he was really surprised by all the man coverage the Bears used that game. 2 weeks ago the Pack used a lot of man got absolutely shreaded. The Bears O needs to be prepared to score 30 and not try to play possession football and keep Brees off the field, that always seems like a failed strategy to me.
  15. Mullen was an assistant at ND with Meyer. When Meyer when to Bowling Green Mullen came with him and was one of the 3 guys that created the foundation for Meyers spread offese. The full article about Urbans offensive background and his spread offense. This site also has some other really cool articles about offenses. http://smartfootball.blogspot.com/2008/12/florida-gatorurban-meyer-offense.html
  16. Texas 34 for me.
  17. The Veterans idea was a great idea. The Veterans on the other hand havent lived up to their end of the bargain. If they were ever to vote somebody in the HOF, Ron Santo is their perfect first choice.
  18. MSU/Georgia: Destruction. OSU/Texas: Annihilation. The B10 might not win one bowl game this year. I think the Rose Bowl will be a competitive game though.
  19. Yeah B10 teams sure seems deeper/better than last year. Not so top heavy.
  20. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Threet transer from Georgia Tech? And correct me if I am wrong but Threet skill set is NOT made for Coach Rodriguez system? Yes he did transfer from GT. He was class of 2007. A RS fresh this year. Rods system is adaptable towards the QB talent. Pat White is not exactly the true model he is looking for. Counting on a RS freshman QB is really optimistic, thats all im saying.
  21. If you mean "juuuust missed on Julio Jones" as in Julio like OU but never consider OU? Then you would be right. Jones loved his visit to Oklahoma, but Jones was never going to go to OU, and that is guarantee. The only team I feared for Julio Jones was Texas Tech, cause Jones was definately intrigued by playing alongside Michael Crabtree and Graham Harrell. TT was the only Big 12, IMO, that had a legit shot at Jones, and he basically blew TT off the last weekend of recruiting. Who is going to be the Qb next year. A 3* Jr or a 2* soph. Its not like they are replacing John David Booty with a 5* Qb like Matt Sanchez. Coffee is good, ill give you that. A 3 star QB who broke all of CHASE DANIEL records in Texas Football, or a 4 star duel threat QB who is similar to Ryan Perrileaux without the offseason troubles. Coffee is good, Ingram is a future 1st rd draft pick RB, Alabama will be bringing a 5 star Top 2/3 RB in Trent Richardson who's likely to be McFadden/Tomlinson good in college. Not to mention Alabama will bring in atleast 4 four star WR in a group of WR between Bumphis/Norwood/Kelly/Patterson/Bowman and there is even a chance Alabama could sign (I say he is LSU bound but that's not a lock yet) the Julio Jones of this WR class in Rueben Randle. So, yes, I think Alabama can be USC good next yr. Mackle Wayne (I can't for the life of me can't spell his name properly. so I spell as it sounds) is a really good offensive coordinator, and with a very good group of young talent coming back yr, Alabama can and should average nearly 40 ppg next yr, and people are likely to average under 10 ppg next yr. Put it this way, even if Tebow and Harvin comes back next yr, I still expect Alabama to be favored to win the SEC next yr, and contend for the Nat'l Title. Chase Daniel was a 4* recruit. Star Jackson is a 4 star recruit(yes i looked further by recruiting class he was a 4* star recruit) Steven Threet was 4* RS Freshmen recruit for Michingan this year too. RS freshman no matter how many stars arent a given.

I hate Bama, but you might want to do a little research before making an ignorant statement and letting a Bammer set you straight. Alabama will have a 4* (5*, depending on who you trust) RS Frosh starting, in Star Jackson. He won't be a game manager, like JPW, he'll be a playmaker. Well i did some research on rivals. Star Jackson is third on the CURRENT depth chart and doesnt have any stars. So excuse me for using Rivals. Im not a Bama insider, if he is truly a 5* i offer no appologies by what i have just found.

  24. No they probably wont be embarassed because bama just doesnt have a prolific offense as the last 2BCS bowl teams they faced. Maybe this game would be a PSU/OSU sort of game. I think thats OSU's best case scenario.
  25. Along the same lines. Ohio State has played two teams as good or better than Alabama and they to both of them. I think Alabama and Ohio State matchup well against each other. That would be a fun game to watch. I don't think Alabama would run away with it like Florida and Louisiana State were able to. I have to disagree with you 2. OSU's offense this year has been so much predicated by the big play. Their offense does not sustain drives or methodically move the ball down the field via the pass or even Chris Wells. They rely so much on the home run threat its not even funny(i.e. they beat Michigan because of 5 plays). Alabama is too good to give up the big plays time and time again. Pryors big run plays comes when the pocket breaks down and the dline loses contain, i just dont see bama getting beat by Pryors feet in thatfashion, Pryor doesnt run between the tackles like Tebow does. Bama may not blow them out but i would feel very confidently they would win.
