  1. 27 recruits. When your rankings are comprised solely of total number of points, you can rank high even if you have almost exclusively 3 stars. Also how teams like S Carolina and UNC are top 10 or close. 29 commits. Do they even have enough room for all those players (Alabama signed more than they could take last year, as I recall). Bama signed I think 32 players. So many didn't actually end up going that ND was retroactively named the top class by the major services after the dust settled. I don't know why schools do that, but if they can get away with it... The SEC is really bad about oversigning. Arkansas, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Auburn.

Rivals has Ole Miss at 33 LOI and 1 still ready to sign. Massive oversigning here of Bama proportions. Not all these guys are going to be on the roster next year. Their rankings arent accurate to what they will field either.
  3. Michigan's biggest recruiting battles are against Tennessee. 3 4* guys. Doesnt seem like a lot of people would be suprised if UT got 2 of those 3 recruits. One commit sounds like a late Arkansas get and the other two seem very possible UT gets. Pearlie Graves was rumored to be a decommit THE DAY AFTER he commited. How funny was that, he would be the most surprising 'commitment' to stay at Michigan.
  4. The bowl game thing is my issue. IIRC, some conferences only had 1 team going to bowl games for years, while others would send anyone who'd get taken. The B10 only had one bowl elgible team up until 1975 (The Rose Bowl). Ole Miss and others pilled on bowl points while teams like Iowa, Wisky, MSU, Minny sat at home.
  5. This plus the curling. I want to learn how to curl. Think about it, average looking men in the rest of the country are like Brad Pitt in ND. Lots ops for good women id imagine. Hell if i hated it i could still blow my brains out after trying it.
  6. Hot damn. Peppers wants out of Carolina.... http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/17/peppers-wants-out-of-carolina/
  7. I dont get what Carroll did. How many times have you heard a coach publicly state his disagreement with a player leaving early. And its not like USC isnt going to have more guys as talented as Sanchez leave early.
  8. Leinart should do a follow up piece for SI on why the teams before Arizona didnt draft him and see what kind of reaction he gets this time. Whats going on with Oher, ive seen scout inc say he is 25 and kiper say he is 10, doesnt look like he improved his position this year. Kiper has 3 LB in top ten and 7 in top 20, thats seems like way to much, especially the 3 in top 10. A LB in top 10 better be a freak.
  9. man if that is true that's pretty embarrassing for meyer. a coach shouldn't completely revise his offensive game plan to get his quarterback to stick around for one more year, and to pump up that player's nfl draft stock. What if they ran an offense more like the one he ran with Chris Leak. Is that really a revision or was the Tim Tebow offense a revision from the one he ran when he got to Florida. Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness.
  10. What is so great about Nick Saban being a recruiter? MSU has their best rated incoming class that i can think of, better than i can remember while in East Lansing, they actually landed quite a few, not just one, of the top in state recruits this year. Les Miles is pulling in a fantastic class at LSU, is he now all of a sudden a great recruiter now too. Rodriguez has pulled in more 4 star recruits this year than ALL of his years at WVU. Good coaches at prominant football schools bring in the talent. Guys like a Brewster or Zook i would classify as good recruiters. Purdue. They have really fallen down hill in the later years of Joe Tiller. They are a better program than the talent they are bringing in.
  11. This is ridiculous on the HS coaches part. Its like he has some power or something. If a kid wants to go to SC what can they do to prevent that.
  12. Gross is going to get LT money. I dont think its worth the $ to pay him that and move him to LG or RT. Carolina is going to franchise either Gross or Peppers, id prefer they franchise Gross so the Bears can go after Peppers.
  13. USC/OSU. I think a lot depends on if Sanchez enters the draft. OSU is losing their fair share of important talent too(Boone, Jenkins, Lauranitis, Wells, Robiskie). Pryor will need to improve his passing skills as they can't lean on Herron like they did with Wells. They will probably be running a little different offense too. Both teams will be preseason top 10.
  14. Yeah he runs go routes. He only had 40 catches this year, its not like there is a lot to work with here. Again, im not question his abiliy, there just isnt a lot to look at compared to other WR.
  15. I dont think any of these WRs warrant a top ten pick. No of them have the combination of size, speed, athletic ability as a Fitz, Moss, Braylon, Owens, CJohnson. They are good just not top 10 good. Harvin: I really like his football speed along with his straighline speed, he is hard to gauge because he doesnt run the 'traditional' football routes as a WR. Is he is Steve Slaton out of the backfield? Harvin seems to run more traps and counters/misdirections than anything. He is a 2nd level runner. Why cant Bush get to the second level while Slaton can? Tashard Choice looks to be a really good pick in the 4th round. 5'11 215, 4.52. Slaton was third rounder, Forte was second along with K Smith coming on late in 08. All these guys could play at the next level, besides these guys RB seems like a position to wait till the 2-5 round without any substantial fall off.
  16. Is this a Cubs game thread?
  17. He yanked Harvins leg at the end.
  18. or spread em out with wrs and still run behind the line.
  19. This line is looking like the prime KC Chiefs line.
  20. i like that dude along with #84 INT Mccoy
  21. I like Johnson too for the reasons you state. Mays has all the tools. I havent seen him much in coverage. Do you guys remember all the hype about Roy Williams coming out? 6'0 225 He was the guy that had great versatility with his size and speed, a 'hybred' safety, change the position blah blah etc. Well hes not the greatest in pass defense. Williams isnt as fast as Mays but like its been discussed earlier, straightline speed isnt everything. Williams went 8th.
  22. Chris Wells comparable might be Larry Johnson but a touch faster. He would need a strong line like Larry does/did, dude does get banged up and he would be wise to leave now. Javon Ringer, eh. I like Green. CJ Spiller is an interesting prospect, Clemsons line hasnt been all that good. His 40 will look good at the combine, not Chris Johnson good but good.
  23. Have they thrown for nearly 7000 yards the last two years with a grand total of about 10 or 11 inteceptions? Maybe in all of their practices over that time. You stated it as an important stat(FOURTH) without the context of everything else. Its a pretty worthless stat in of by itself, and probably pretty worthless too.
