  1. Holy smokes it included 15 other teams in the athletic department, it wasnt just the football program. I wouldnt call that a minor textbook incident. Minor violations done on a major scale.
  2. Geoff Blum freaking sucks. This is like the Miles hitting 2 game winners back to back, id be laughing my ass off at the fortune of that happening. I want to punch Blum in his stupid face.
  3. Well Z looked really good tonight. nobody did anything save for lee's 2 solid hits. A bunch of weak infield pop ups and balls being pounded in the ground. Seriously i dont think ive seen that many weak pop ups from a pitcher in one game.
  4. Good to see the Cubs drafting college hitters, too bad they are searching for the wrong ones. Jackson's scouting reports dont give me good confidence on his hitting 'foundation', not a lot to work with other than 'tools'. Drafting on tools on HS hitter not so bad an idea, drafting on tools on college hitters after 3 years of results, not so good. The first 2 picks deserve a big ol armpit fart noise. Im just not that excited.
  5. Rex's pocket presence, mobility was off the charts bad. He could make all the throws but when a play broke down, he broke down with it. This was/is his so called 'fatal flaw'.
  6. Am I seriously the only person who thinks he deserves some consideration? He was a midseason acquisition, wasnt expected to help much and only played 15 games. Guys like Blowser, Rojas, Hundley were the 'big' offseason FA signings. Wilson definetly sucked as a baseball player but he wasnt a guy the team really planned on contributing to the season like the others.
  7. Omayile is working on 1st at LG. Beekman is working out as backup C. Im curious where Shaffer is working out, at RG or second team RT. Im not going to panic but im not liking the idea of Garza at RG again. Good for Knox. He has great hands by all scouting reports. I hope he challenges Davis for the slot receiver.
  8. I didnt pay this particular close attention to these set numbers of McClouths before today. 64SB 5 CS Damn. That freaking crazy.
  9. Unless the Bulls think they can be the next Detroit Pistons by putting 5 solid team players on the floor then you go hard for Bosh with Tyrus and Deng. The history of the NBA is more in favor of having 2 star players like Bosh and Rose than how the 2000's Pistons were built. And its not like the Bulls would be totally defunct by trading Deng and Tyrus, there is enough leftover. Waiting until Bosh becomes a FA is risky, really good players get traded away, or resign (not with Bosh) way more often than hitting the FA open market. The Bulls wont be the only team having $ in 2010. If they can arrange a deal for Bosh, get him now.
  10. And that LeBron's second best player on his team is Mo Williams lol. Im not comparing this years teams to each other, im going back in time to what was being said about Kobe pre Gasol. There were a lot of similiarities of the criticism pre Gasol, hell Kobe wanted out of town BAD because he was too much of the team and didnt like the direction they were going in. Lebron needs a #2 i said that earlier in this thread. MJ V Lebron....how bout post Shaq Kobe V Lebron. Kobe is 30 but he still has some good championship runs in him after this year.
  11. A couple years ago wasnt the criticism of Kobe the same as some of the undercurrent criticism of Lebron. Kobe wants to be like Jordan too much and be the man, he scores too much, he wants to be the franchise and not the 2nd fiddle to Shaq, etc etc, Now what, dudes in the finals after averaging 'only' 26 in the reg and 29 in the playoffs. Kobe V Lebron would be great, too bad Bron is getting blown out at half.
  12. So if they trade Deng for Shaq. Can they resign Gordon. If they can im all for signing Gordon and then when shaq leaves they still have room for Bosh/Amare. Shaq isnt exactly the best piece for this style of offense as he is pretty much a boat anchor down low but it shouldnt be catastrophic as he brings other talents to offset this.
  13. NBA Top 50 Players during the 90s Barkely-Ran into Jordan, lost Malone-Ran into Jordan twice in finals, lost both times Stockton-See above Ewing-Ran into Jordan too many times to count and never won Drexler-Ran into Jordan, lost Isiah-Beat MJ three times, got swept never to be seen again. Magic-Ran into Jordan, lost Hakeem won 2 championships during MJ's first retirement (MJ's short return year they lost in the EC finals), when Jordan returned to the finals The Dream never returned back to the finals. All these top 50 no championship guys would of probably won the title if it wasnt for MJ winning 6 championships in 6 years. So much of what i remember hearing about Jordan pre titles is the same as Lebron. Scores too much, guards dont win championships alone without a big man, not as good as Magic, Bird until he wins one. LeBrons story is yet to be written as Jordans was too, if he doesnt win at least one i will be totally shocked.
  14. anyway to get his bat in the lineup sounds good. :-))
  15. When you *have* to play Mike Fontenot against an extremely tough lefty, and have to play, or even call up Andres Blanco, your team has some problems. There are several glaring holes on this team that keep them from being last year's team. That said, they can still contend for the playoffs with some smart moves and a bit of luck. Also, we can't have almost half the lineup hovering around .200. This is what i think is unbelievble. Its unreal.
  16. Z tossing the umpire because he got bumped is all kinds of awesome.
  17. Not to sound like an old man but the game has changed since Jordan was in his prime compard to now. Driving and going to hoop isnt as phyisical as it once was and the refs are much tighter on the hand checking. LeBron never encountered a Detroit Pistons or NY Knicks defense that would beat the hell out you. LeBrons offense is completely different than the one Jordan played in. What would Jordan do with a offense where he was the lead on a pick/screen role offense in this day. LeBrons skills are terrific and he is only going to get better as the team finds better components to surround him with. He is the only guy on the Cavs that create his own shot consitently and he is bail out guy. Jordan had Pippen to break down the defense, LeBron could really use a guy like this. I like Mo Williams at the PG but he needs another guy who isnt a spot up shooter. This is the only thing i think slowing LBJ down.
  18. And when that pocket shows the least bit of vulnerability, the whole NE system tends to look like a mess. exactly. Matt Cassel 2008: 516 PA, 47 Sacks Tom Brady 2007: 578 PA, 21 Sacks The line was pretty much the same in 2008 as the years past. no one's arguing that brady doesn't have better pocket awareness than cassell. he's an experienced, very smart quarterback. I know, im just saying that QB's have a lot to do with how well an offensive line pass protects. Brady is really good at sliding around inside the pocket, he has a good line but thats not all of it.
  20. McNabb blew his knee out in 06 and was good in 07. Age would be more of a determining factor in deciding between Cutler and Brady/McNabb for me. Brady is 6 years older and probably has 3-4 more good years left. Short term id definetly take Brady but the long term of Cutler is more valuable to me. For the next 3 years whats the difference between Brady and Culter, not a huge amount. Finding really good qbs in this league is hard, who is going to be NE's qb 4-10 years from now? The Bears will have Cutler in that span and the difference between Chicagos qb situation compard to NE's for those 6 years will be much, much greater than the next 3 years between the 2 teams.
  21. Explosive diarrhea. Thats the Cubs right now.
