  1. Bobby Wade muffs another one. Surprise surprise. Seriously how many nfl players call other players names. I dont even care if an OTA altercation did occur, it wont be the first and wont be last. Wait till training camp, OLine and Dline fight all the time. Oh no Harris and Kruetz got in each other faces, game over for team chemistry. This story makes good news but its a non story too.
  2. Who the hell knows. I like the Cubs 1,2,3 in the bullpen and id be all for using marshall as 4th instead of Heilman but that aint gonna happen. So Id like too see Stevens unseat Heilman as the fourth. He pumps his fastballs in the zone much better than Heilman and dares people to hit. Heilman just dances around all the place walking everybody and still getting hit.
  3. Let's raise our expectations a tad, shall we? I'm calling 2 of 3 from the Phils I don't think it's unreasonable to expect just one from this series. The Phillies have won 8 in a row, 12 out of their last 13, and are playing in their home ballpark. I'd expect them to take two out of three against any team in the league right now. If the Cubs can take two I'd be very happy, but I don't think only taking one says anything poorly about the team in this case. Getting swept however would be a disappointment and would be giving back the unexpected extra win the team picked up against the Nationals. So the Phills are due to lose then. 8-) Unless they go on colorado hot streak they will lose a couple here and there.
  4. Training camp starts July 31 and the first preseason game starting August 15 at Buffalo. Hot damn. This years training camp news is obvisouly going to focus on Cutler and how the offense looks. Im looking forward to hearing about the battle for the safties spots, the Wrs battle, Chris Williams on the right side, and the dline play of Jarron Gilbert and Mark Anderson. Marinelli talked about the importance of moves and countermoves, Anderson was pretty much just run up the field as fast as possible and he didnt really display any moves, if Marinelli can teach him some moves and refine his technique ill be optimistic about him creating some pass rush. Gilbert is loaded with athleticism, im very curious on how well he does at camp.
  5. Aramis' shoulder didnt look good on his last one.
  6. I really dont like 4 game series, even if its the Nats. 3 out of 4 and get this one tonight.
  7. Goosen, i believe it was the 17th, bunker shot was unbelievable. And Tom Watson, that dude always seems to rock n roll at the british even in his older years. he cant put more than 1-2 rounds together but damn he goes low on the first days alot.
  8. I was with my dad and a friend watching that game. My dad and i were drinking scotch to kill the nerves. The Bears could of easily lost that game if not for the incredible defense stop at the end of the 4th. The only other thing i really remember, no i wasnt that drunk, was the Grossman to Davis seem route. Rashied Davis' highlight of his career.
  9. Watching Matt Leinart dink and dunk his way down the field for the first couple possession freaking pissed me off royally. That was not enjoyable. The 4th quarter was sweet but the buildup to get there was hair pulling. NFC Champ was sweet because of what was on the line. Favre's awful game in the bad weather was great because of the years of ass whooping he gave the Bears. Bears/Browns and Bears/Niners were totally awesome too. Now, I can't wait for Cutler to kick someones ass in the last minutes of a game.
  10. Steven Jackson is a top 10 player. I am drafting 5th in a league (one keeper only) and will select him if he is available. Kevin Smith isnt a bad option either, he played really well at the end of last year and Detroit is going to be much more run oriented.
  11. Hmmm, interesting. The Bears scored more points despite being outgained by the Broncos by 100 yards a game, damn. The Bears had 32 TO's to Denvers's 13, meaning they flipped the field 19 more times. If the Bears can continue to get turnovers (history suggest they will be one of the better teams in the league) maybe this year they will have an offense that can take advantage of the shorter fields and REALLY make the other team pay for its mistakes. This is just turnovers, the Bears defense last year gave up 40 less yards, an improvement or even equal there again means less yards for Cutler to hit the endzone. Cutler is going to see a lot shorter fields than last year.
  12. I always liked watching this dude fight. He fought his ass off and when he lost he was gracious in defeat. An entertaining boxer who loved to fight in a phone booth. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/chris_mannix/07/11/gatti.react/ :(
  13. I can't be the only one that found this hilarously funny. Man this chic has some serious problems longer than a week to perform something like this. This is deeper than just some snap.
  14. If Jeter would of lifted his hand ala Kenny Lofton then the ump probably would of called him safe. The ump was too honest, its not a secret umps will use the ball beat you as a guage to call safe/out. Even after slow mo it was hard to distinguish safe or out. This call wont change anything how ump calls plays like this, they dont have cyborg eyes.
  15. Lieber had a really good slider, maybe his #s might be similar but the stuff is much different. Wells doesnt really have a sexy go to pitch, but he has a nice arsenal. He moves his fastball and variations of the FB around and down in the zone, his fastball is around 90/91 so not exactly a soft tosser either. He has a nice change up to use against LH's. His slg % against is like 6th in NL starters so he doesnt get hit hard when he gives up hits.
  16. I actually liked how Gregg pitched tonight, especially the AB where he kept on pumping fastballs up there with a 2 run lead. Marmol put together a nice performance too, this is 5 outings in a row looking good. He walked a guy today but his stuff is looking electric again. A lot of other good things happened in tonights game too, good W.
  17. DLee still can't be traded in the offseason unless he approves it. That doesn't appear likely. I still want to see more from Fox before I anoint him as Lee's successor, but I do like what I've seen to this point. Doh. Details smetails. Alright 2011 it is! The Cubs should be able to get a deal or 2 down without Fox.
  18. Jake Fox could be the heir apparent to Derrek Lee. I wouldnt be in a hurry to trade him. Heck wait til the offseason and see what you can get for Derrek Lee. Fox should be able to get his ABs with Aramis coming off injury and Bradley taking an off day every week.
  19. Coleman as a 21YO in AA and what he is doing is a positive. His WHIP and K rate is kinda eh though. He frame is rather small for a pitcher as well, so i view that as knock on him too. He needs to K more people for me to really really start liking him.
  20. I cant stand Iversons game, it worked good in Philly because they had no one else to shoot and build the offense around and they played great defense, but put him on a team that doesnt rely on him controlling the ball and gearing the offense around is a bad idea. Iverson is a terrible shooter, Ben Gordon blows him away in that department. This team needs shooters more than creators and ball hogs.
  21. I remember being at college at the time and we were all like what the...when he shot up the pre draft board and it was who is this guy? guys from schools like this dont gather THIS much excitement. 'Air McNair' dude lit people up and we couldnt wait to see what he could do. I really really liked him as a qb. He was a bad ass.
  22. There was no reason to keep throwing Fielder breakin balls right there. Just thrown him a fastball and challenge him to hit it But at least things were down and not off the plate never starting in the zone. Im feeling good about his stuff again.
  23. when it hit the bat i yelled ooooo efff off.
  24. Guess whose back, back again. Geos back Geos back back again. Dlee is back, is Soto back now. Dear god i hope so.
