  1. This 100%, there's not going to be a salary cap. But I'm also not sure what the eventual lockout is going to ultimately result in. The current luxury tax penalties are fairly punitive and enough to stop ~25/30 teams from exceeding and 28/30 teams from greatly exceeding (including the Mets though the Dodgers lap them even still). The Dodgers are losing like 5 of their top 7 draft picks next year and paying $2 for every $1 they spend and it isn't slowing them down, it's wild.
  2. I wonder when they will reschedule the Wrigley all-star game for since next year's won't be played certainly.
  3. Right? It pisses me off that it’s even being discussed even if the Cubs aren’t seriously intending to trade him. I’d think the Cubs should be focused on extension if anything.
  4. ngl even though it only played approximately 50 songs and only 30 were good, im gonna miss the classic hip hop station.
  5. Right... incomplete, incomplete, 24 yard dime = 33% completion percentage, 24 yards and a first down. 2 yard screen, incomplete, 6 yard pass = 66% completion percentage, 8 yards and a punt. He does need to get more accurate at those seemingly "easier" passes, but this version of Caleb is good enough to be a problem for any defense
  6. This could be a turning point in his Cubs tenure that is for sure
  7. Random thought I had: with the Bears finishing the regular season with 3 of their last 4 at home, they will be playing their 5th home game in the past 6 weeks next weekend. Has that ever happened before?
  8. I just googled it quickly, since the playoffs expanded to 14 teams every Saturday divisional round game has involved a team coming off a bye week. Assuming that’s by design the Bears will be on Sunday
  9. Why do you think that? I was under the assumption the bye teams usually played on Saturday but I could be wrong
  10. 15 of the last 16 Bears games have either resulted in a Bears win or a loss on the final play of the game (outside of kneels). So whatever happens it’s likely to be drama filled.
  11. I’m hoping Kyler was just getting into game shape and not hobbled due to the injury even though I fear I know it’s the latter. Really need him to cover Puka or Adams.
  12. I just worry that the Cubs sit like $1m away from the tax, Nico is making $11m next year, and is a FA after the season. If they were looking to give themselves some wiggle room for additional moves now or at the deadline what other moves are out there or would they actually dare to go over the tax? Seiya is in a similar boat but OF is a lot thinner. Maybe a SP but doubt they will want to reduce depth there.
  13. I'm just gonna let the chips fall where they land. There are advantages and disadvantages to both Eagles: -We've beaten them this year in Philly and know we can beat them -Their offense has taken a step back this year and seems like a much easier matchup for our defense -Bears would have the advantage of an extra day of rest -Disadvantage: Great defense and we'll probably have to change the gameplan up for the second game Rams: -West coast team coming 2 time zones to pay a cold weather team outdoors -Almost lost to Carolina? -Disadvantage: Same rest, the Rams were the number 1 team in DVOA this year, they have 2 uber elite WRs to face our hobbled beleaguered secondary
  14. Kind of included in the 1st and 10 to 4th and 15 but the Packers also burned one of their TOs during that set of downs and then got the Delay of Game penalty coming out of the timeout which is just overwhelmingly stupid.
  15. IF he fully comes back it sounds like it's a 1 year recovery time. We absolutely have to address LT in the offseason. You don't have to necessarily get a guy to replace Ozzy forever but needs to be someone who can play all year and hold his own with the rest of the line. Not for next year, but for the playoffs...if Braxton Jones is healthy is he just completely buried on the depth chart now? He wasn't great but he was our starting LT for multiple seasons.
  16. I hate this move if it means trading Nico. I think Nico is arguably the Cubs most important position player besides PCA
  17. Caleb seems like a true leader in the locker room and it's clear that his admiration for Ben is not just played up for the media. Love to see it.
  18. It took 12 drives but the Packers have finally punted in Chicago this season.
  19. Unbeatable Michigan loses and the Bears get pantsed, what a day
  20. I would have thought getting our injured players back would help but nope they are still hurt and diminished. Kyler must have been a decoy
  21. Make that 8 of 9. the way this defense is playing it might be worse than 2013
  22. The Packers have had 8 possessions against the Bears in Chicago. They have driven inside the Bears 10 yard line in 7 of them.
  23. Poles is an idiot for not addressing the pass rush
  24. Am I wrong that the last time they wore those against the Packers was the opening of the renovated Soldier Field and they got pantsed?
