  1. Why do you think that? I was under the assumption the bye teams usually played on Saturday but I could be wrong
  2. 15 of the last 16 Bears games have either resulted in a Bears win or a loss on the final play of the game (outside of kneels). So whatever happens it’s likely to be drama filled.
  3. I’m hoping Kyler was just getting into game shape and not hobbled due to the injury even though I fear I know it’s the latter. Really need him to cover Puka or Adams.
  4. I just worry that the Cubs sit like $1m away from the tax, Nico is making $11m next year, and is a FA after the season. If they were looking to give themselves some wiggle room for additional moves now or at the deadline what other moves are out there or would they actually dare to go over the tax? Seiya is in a similar boat but OF is a lot thinner. Maybe a SP but doubt they will want to reduce depth there.
  5. I'm just gonna let the chips fall where they land. There are advantages and disadvantages to both Eagles: -We've beaten them this year in Philly and know we can beat them -Their offense has taken a step back this year and seems like a much easier matchup for our defense -Bears would have the advantage of an extra day of rest -Disadvantage: Great defense and we'll probably have to change the gameplan up for the second game Rams: -West coast team coming 2 time zones to pay a cold weather team outdoors -Almost lost to Carolina? -Disadvantage: Same rest, the Rams were the number 1 team in DVOA this year, they have 2 uber elite WRs to face our hobbled beleaguered secondary
  6. Kind of included in the 1st and 10 to 4th and 15 but the Packers also burned one of their TOs during that set of downs and then got the Delay of Game penalty coming out of the timeout which is just overwhelmingly stupid.
  7. IF he fully comes back it sounds like it's a 1 year recovery time. We absolutely have to address LT in the offseason. You don't have to necessarily get a guy to replace Ozzy forever but needs to be someone who can play all year and hold his own with the rest of the line. Not for next year, but for the playoffs...if Braxton Jones is healthy is he just completely buried on the depth chart now? He wasn't great but he was our starting LT for multiple seasons.
  8. I hate this move if it means trading Nico. I think Nico is arguably the Cubs most important position player besides PCA
  9. Caleb seems like a true leader in the locker room and it's clear that his admiration for Ben is not just played up for the media. Love to see it.
  10. It took 12 drives but the Packers have finally punted in Chicago this season.
  11. Unbeatable Michigan loses and the Bears get pantsed, what a day
  12. I would have thought getting our injured players back would help but nope they are still hurt and diminished. Kyler must have been a decoy
  13. Make that 8 of 9. the way this defense is playing it might be worse than 2013
  14. The Packers have had 8 possessions against the Bears in Chicago. They have driven inside the Bears 10 yard line in 7 of them.
  15. Poles is an idiot for not addressing the pass rush
  16. Am I wrong that the last time they wore those against the Packers was the opening of the renovated Soldier Field and they got pantsed?
  17. Kind of crazy that virtually every playoff game the Bears have played since 1994 has been at home 2001 - Home vs. Philadelphia 2005 - Home vs. Carolina 2006 - Home vs. Seattle 2006 - Home vs. New Orleans 2006 - Neutral vs. Indianapolis 2010 - Home vs. Seattle 2010 - Home vs. Green Bay 2018 - Home vs. Philadelphia 2020 - Away vs. New Orleans 2025 - Home vs. Green Bay COVID season barely counts and the neutral site was the Super Bowl. Outside of that all home games. Of course they've only played 10 total playoff games in those 31 years so...
  18. It took 23 years but we've made it!
  19. I really wonder how where the Bears would have gone if Ben Johnson didn't come here. Most would say Mike McCarthy, and that would be a very McCaskey move, but so would Pete Carroll. Thank God we dont have to live in that timeline.
  20. Same. I doubt Carolina is going to win, so go Eagles. There is some value to having a warm weather west coast team coming to Chicago in mid-January, and their fanbase is much less likely to travel to Chicago unless there are still St Louis Rams fans out there, but the Rams are just too good. The Eagles are also very good (obviously, defending champs and all) and probably have a higher gear than they showed on Black Friday but they just seem more beatable.
  21. Just for fun, Divisional Round scenarios if the Bears win on Saturday: If the Eagles beat the 49ers, the Bears will host Philadelphia If the 49ers beat the Eagles, the Bears will host the Rams/Panthers winner. Bears cannot see Seattle or San Francisco until the Conference championship game.
  22. It's hard to score points and get into a rhythm on offense when you only get 3 possessions in the first half. You are right that the TOP played a major factor in this loss, and near loss to the Packers a couple weeks ago. Not absolving the offense for not producing points but it definitely has some effect when you are starting your second possession with like 9 minutes left in the half.
  23. My prediction based on nothing is the late afternoon Sunday game. It won’t be the MNF game (i think espn gets lower priority for the WC game), it won’t be Saturday afternoon (reserved for Texans/the crappiest matchup) and it probably won’t be Sunday at noon given the high profile matchup. So either Saturday night, Sunday late afternoon or Sunday night.
  24. GB is no doubt the easiest of the 4 potential opponents entering the weekend but they are also the only team who isn’t a warm weather west coast team and the only team that will probably fill at least 30% of the stadium with their fans. that said i still prefer this matchup. As for the rivalry component, how much worse can they “own” us after the last 30 years? Low risk, high reward
