  1. It's not going to happen but it would be hilarious if that very unlikely scenario that keeps Paraguay out of the knockouts actually happened.
  2. Just a reminder that our depth especially at back is horsefeathers. I see better defense from mid-tier MLS teams. That said the attack was still really strong. Crazy to see how momentum changed the first 10 or so minutes after Pulisic came on. Had like 3 amazing chances that just didn’t go in. Also Matt Tuner wtf. Can’t believe that dude was playing in the Prem League a couple years ago
  3. The last time we went 7-0 against the Mets we ended up in the NLCS, though I don’t remember what happened once we got there
  4. Somehow seeing Thielbar warming up doesn’t make me feel any better.
  5. Also he gave up a .590 xBA 103mph rocket to Soto lol
  6. Sounds like what we all feared is the reality for Ben Brown
  7. The start time for this game tonight is actually pretty wild. Here is what time the game starts locally for the 4 participants: USA ET: 10pm (75% of US population is in ET or CT) Paraguay: 11pm Türkiye: 5am Australia: Noon Literally only convenient for the US West Coast (which I get it, the game is hosted there) and Australia.
  8. Baseball is just the weirdest sport ever. The Cubs start going into a slump and you tell yourself "meh, I've seen this a million times it happens every baseball season" and then it continues on so long that you start to wonder "what if this isn't a slump and they just suck", and then when you hit the lowest point suddenly the bats spring to life again and start hitting like they did before. And when they slump it pretty much doesn't matter who you face. You could be facing Cy Young winners every night or you could be facing Michael Lorenzen, doesn't matter you're getting shut down (BTW after back to back 1 run outings against the Cubs Lorenzen went back to his standard 4+ ER start against the Pirates). And so now we surge again apparently and start tracking "haven't done this well since" statistics when last week we were tracking "haven't sucked this badly since" statistics. Such a weird sport....
  9. That's like the 3rd time I've done that lol. My brain can't accept that there's a Jacob Webb
  10. Peterson has been on the Cubs for an hour, is he injured yet?
  11. Baseball is so weird. Absolutely no clutch hitting for like 6 weeks now suddenly they can’t stop
  12. Are the Cubs protesting challenging balls and strikes tonight for some reason?
  13. Shota’s HRs allowed the last 7 starts: 2 3 3 4 0 (Rockies) 0 (Rockies) 3 (so far)
  14. Some people are awful at knowing when to use challenges. Strike 3 with 2 on and 1 out in a 1 run game is a good time
  15. Kind of wish we got that run home from 3rd with less than 2 outs now. But I guess I should be used to saying that
  16. So unless a really weird and unlikely confluence of events occurs, the US will be facing Bosnia in the R32. That scenario is none of Groups A, C, D and F have a 3rd place knockout round qualifier which is probably unlikely.
  17. Imagine hosting all your Group Stage games and not winning your group @ Canada
  18. I obviously wanted Qatar over Bosnia, but when Bosnia took a 2-0 lead I started rooting for them because the last thing we need is a draw here. Now its 2-1 and getting a bit nerve-racking
  19. As I said a couple weeks ago when he was still awful, Dansby has always been an insanely streaky hitter and was bound to start hitting.
