  1. Still images are tough to discern much from IMO. From that photo guys are already breaking in that direction. Imagine the uproar if Caleb throws short of the end zone with the game on the line and Swift gets stopped. He also has a defender bearing in on him from that side, potentially right where Caleb would be throwing. Maybe you're right with the full video, but based on that picture its inconclusive to me.
  2. I really hope not. what are we talking about with the 2 seed vs 3 seed? The Packers will be well rested (resting their starters next week) and while we beat them, they just went an entire regulation where every single drive they had ended inside the Bears 10 yard line. They are the easier draw for sure but as the 3 seed they might have a west coast warm weather team have to travel to Chicago to play. Maybe not a huge advantage (we've seen SF take out a better GB team multiple times in recent years), but I would hope there is so advantage and maybe slows down their offenses a bit. And then in the 2nd round you probably go to Philly, where the Bears have already won this year. I'd much rather have the 2 seed but the 3 seed doesn't doom us or anything. Losing more guys to injury could though. Also remember the last time the Bears had a bye week, we were in the middle of the Brewers-Cubs NLDS series. We've played 12 straight weeks of football.
  3. You dont think they could have run a 1 read play with 4 seconds? It's probably a little risky but if it's not there immediately throw it at the WRs feet.
  4. True the drops were killer. If Burden catches that pass, Ben doesn't use his 2nd TO to draw up a 4th down play. I don't necessarily have any critique on how they used their TOs or clock management but it seemed at one point that time would absolutely not be a factor for us and ultimately it was which sucks.
  5. No one should play next week. Normally not a take I'd have but this team is snakebitten with injuries.
  6. If Seattle wins do you push these guys into the lineup? I guess it depends a couple of things: -Are you willing to risk falling to 3rd seed and playing SF/LA/SEA and if you win go on the road to Philly vs a guaranteed home game in the divisional round? -Does SF rest their starters in Week 18 against Seattle if the Bears win tonight thus eliminating the Niners from the division race and nothing to play for except maybe 5 vs 6 seed (if LAR also loses)? They’ve had a lot of injuries this year and some veterans in key positions that could use a week of rest The Bills/Eagles game this afternoon may make the first point moot and who knows what Detroit team we get next week at Soldier Field. I would think they’d be motivated to embarrass Ben Johnson again but they’re probably just trying to get the season over with after their deflating collapse
  7. Interesting, can you find that scenario? Other places are reporting the Eagles can't get the 1 seed but definitely possible there is some obscure scenario that not many people are picking up on it. Edit: In fact, the only way all 5 teams tie at 12-5 is with the Bears beating the 49ers and then SF beats Seattle (because Seattle has to lose twice to finish 12-5). If that were to happen, the 49ers would win the division with a 3-1 H2H record vs Seattle/LAR, compared to 2-2 for Seattle/LAR. If I'm reading the tiebreaking rules properly, if one team has a H2H sweep, they would win the tiebreaker, and in this case the Bears would be 2-0 against the 49ers and Eagles, the 2 teams they would be tied with.
  8. Has there ever been a team that didn't punt in consecutive games and lost them both before the Packers just did it?
  9. Only teams remaining for the 7 seed and their probability of finishing in the 7th seed: -GB/CHI loser: 92% -SF: 7% -LAR: 1% I have no idea what the Rams scenario is, but SF becoming the 7 seed is pretty clear, 49ers lose out and Packers win out. There is also a chance the Bears end up as the 1 seed and get a bye or fall to the 3 seed, but the odds of a Bears/Packers Wild Card matchup are overwhelming at this point.
  10. I can’t stand Larrivee mostly because he sucked doing Bulls games on WGN back in the day and I hated that he bailed on the Bears PBP job for the Packers, though I get that he grew up a Packers fan and that was his dream job.
  11. The Chiefs just announced a new domed stadium to be built in Kansas and opened for the 2031 season. This would be the 6th NFL stadium that was announced after the Bears announced plans to build a stadium in Arlington Heights that will be completed before any Bears stadium is completed (possibly before any construction begins at this rate)
  12. Yep, thats one of the first things I thought of when I saw DJ's catch on Saturday, very similar.
  13. Pro Bowl fan voting is only 1/3 of the component for selection but the following Bears were leading NFC vote getters at their position in the fan voting: QB - Caleb Williams RB - D'Andre Swift T - Darnell Wright G - Joe Thuney C - Drew Dalman ILB - Tremaine Edmunds CB - Nashon Wright SS - Jaquan Brisker FS - Kevin Byardf P - Tory Taylor Return - Devin Duvernay ST - Josh Blackwell Caleb and Byard were in the top 5 of overall votes (both conferences)
  14. It would have been Urlacher having a 100 yard pick 6 in the 2010 NFC championship game but somehow stupid Rodgers got his ankle and tripped him up
  15. No but if you believe you have the coach, in general you should have hope that there will be more good years than bad years. And if you believe you have the QB even doubly so. I guess the biggest doubt I have is whether the GM can build something sustainable especially when Caleb's rookie contract is up, but I also believe Ben has some say in how they build the team.
  16. We live in a world where the Brewers knocked the Cubs out of the playoffs like 2 months ago. I can handle the risk of the Packers, who have already owned us for decades, knocking out if it happens. It's not like this is a last dance for this Bears team.
  17. Feels like there’s maybe an 70% chance that the Bears face the Packers in the Wild Card round. Only ways they avoid it: -Get the 1 seed and a bye -GB collapses and Detroit wins out -Eagles pass Bears for 2 seed and the Bears play either SF or the Rams (would require 2 Bears losses and 2 Eagles wins) -SF or LA Rams collapse and finish behind the Packers
  18. So Willis has a shoulder injury which could make their game against the Ravens interesting. Though McCarthy left the Vikings game and they play Detroit next week. Hopefully the Lions just lose right now and take any doubt or better yet the Bears just win next weekend
  19. He talked about that post game. He said it was something that was on his mind as he was making the catch
  20. Yeah you could audibly hear Caleb (I think) say that they want to kick to start OT
  21. So I think… Bears clinch playoff spot with: 1 Bears win OR 1 Lions loss OR 1 Packers loss Bears clinch the NFC North with: 1 Bears win OR 1 loss from both GB and DET
  22. Holy horsefeathers that was horsefeathers awesome
  23. The Bears defense is 0/6 at preventing the Packers from getting inside their 10.
  24. 5 Packers possessions, all started on the Packers side of the field, all 5 have gotten to at least the Bears 7 yard line. All of them (except the kneel down). 4th down stop and forced fumble are keeping this from being a complete beat down sadly
  25. This is so incredibly disappointing. If we lose this the only way we can clinch before playing Detroit is a Bears win vs SF and a Lions loss or 2 Lions losses. I think there’s about a 70% chance we’re playing the Lions for a playoff spot in Week 18 if we lose this
