Such a disappointing final week of the season. *sigh* If we lose the 2nd game tonight and the Padres win, they clinch HFA right? At that point we have nothing to play for, send a skeleton crew to Tampa and send everyone else to San Diego (which will make it really confusing when the Phillies sweep and we end up having to play in Atlanta). -
Well either we come back and win or we have our third 1 run/extra innings loss this week

I think I saw both Taylors and Amayas doubles would have been HRs without the wind affecting them. Problem is they just stopped hitting well after the 3rd inning.

on top of everything else the Cubs have had horrible luck with batted balls this week

Strangely enough the Red Sox were 3-47 with RISP in their last 7 games coming into today. Just needed the Cubs bullpen to get back on track.

Holmes haven't given up any runs yet but I'm not sure this performance is reassuring at all after the last couple of rough starts.

Looks like the Padres are about to go to 15-2 in their last 17 games. What a run. Given the Phillies loss tonight its gonna be harder to drop to 6th so going from Chicago to Boston to Tampa to San Diego is looking like the most likely outcome for the next 6 days

The Brewers devil magic is slightly less disgusting when it's benefitting us. Up 4-1 in the 8th over Philly. Ideal night would be WC1 - x-CHC +1.0 WC2 - SD +1.0 WC3 - PHI -- ---- OUT - ARI 2.0 BTW, Arizona holds the tiebreaker over Philly. Their path would be either sweeping SD OR going 2-1 and the Phillies going 0-3
