  1. Still 12-11 in our last 23 and 22-14 in our last 38!
  2. I swear I’ve seen like 15 weak grounders to 3B today. It looks like the same play every time
  3. Any chance David Bote is on the roster, just in case?
  4. Which of the Cubs 2 hits today is your favorite?
  5. Quietly Rea had a solid start: 7 IP, 3 ER. Guessing Palencia will get one of the last 2 innings since he needs work.
  6. In the last 25 innings, PCAs HR is the only runs they’ve scored.
  7. Runs scored in their last 9 games that aren’t against the White Sox: 0 0 2 1 2 3 2 0 2 0 (so far)
  8. Ok this is going from “ebbs and flows” type of downswing into “something isn’t right” But I still can’t see them continuing this way. They’ll hit again.
  9. Hey maybe that $400m Dodgers roster can cool off the Brewers. Nope, Milwaukee wins easily. They won the (regular season) series 6-0 over the Dodgers last year as well. this is pretty much the Cubs luck lately:
  10. Why in the world wouldn’t Busch challenge that?!? Put the tying run to the plate with 0 outs in the 9th or try to get a hit off a lefty
  11. Swanson is 8-45 with RISP this year. Time to break out of it
  12. Maybe the HR will get things going for the Cubs *Swanson strikes out on a pitch several inches outside* Or not
  13. When is the last time Jed had a deadline that didn't feel underwhelming? I might be missing something but last year it was a decent reliever, rotation depth and a utility guy. In 2024, I can really only remember the Paredes trade but they weren't positioned to be buyers. In 2023 it was Candelario and Cuas. 2022 and 2021 were selloffs.
  14. This reminds me of the slump they had in May 2024 that had an impact on tanking their season
  15. So I have twins, and thats exactly how my other 10 year old is. That's the kind of sports fandom that I think is a lot more healthy. Knows whats going on, happy when they win, but doesn't let the performance of random people affect his mood. If they lose he just does something else. If they win he enjoys it, just not as much as my other 10 year old.
  16. Yeah there's definitely a talent gap. You just hope your bats are hot going into the postseason and you can make a run similar to the 2023 DBacks. But it really all depends on what pitching is here and healthy come September/October
  17. Thats a really nice message. Yes I have enjoyed him getting into it and it's always fun when he shocks me by knowing things I wouldn't expect him to know. Heck he even keeps me optimistic as he calls me out if I say something remotely negative lol. But yeah there's been some really fun memories already. When DJ Moore caught the TD to beat the Packers it was like Xmas morning times 10 for him. Similar when PCA hit the game tying HR against the Reds. Just need to manage the highs and the lows so there is a floor and a ceiling.
  18. I actually thought about this, it's not the worst thing in the world for him to experience this. I tried explaining that a baseball season is full of peaks and valleys but he watched the team win almost every game for a month with several improbable comebacks, he started to think it was just going to keep happening. You don't quite understand how a baseball season works until you experience it.
