  1. I've heard that there's a little known rule that teams that exchange 9 second round picks for an additional 1st round pick. 4D chess by AKME. But seriously, if the returns seem underwhelming its because they traded everyone 1-2 years too late in an attempt to embrace mediocrity.
  2. pretty sure these faces are not the faces of bulls guards (I dont know maybe they are)/captain is not billy Donovan, but Gemini did its best
  3. US group stage times are crazy considering we're the host country. I get that the games are on the west coast but 50% of the country lives in ET and 75% in ET or CT. Friday, June 12 at 9pm ET Friday, June 19 at 3pm ET (wtf? 3pm on a workday?) Thursday, June 25 at 10pm ET (wtf? 10pm on a work night?) I'm sure the 6/19 game time is to accommodate Australia (8am in Sydney), but the 6/25 game is against a UEFA team meaning it will air in the middle of the night over there.
  4. Super random but a friend who is a fan of another team asked me this yesterday. Now that the season is over and emotions have settled etc, what would have been a better outcome for you: -What happened (playoff win over Packers, OT loss to Rams) -A close loss in the NFC championship game after beating let's say the 49ers and Eagles. Also the championship game loss is not to the Packers.
  5. I hate to be a hater but am I the only one who could never come around on Rose again after the rape allegations? Even if he didn't actually rape the woman, what he did with her completely soured my impression of him and his statements in court ('we men', and not knowing what consent is) were disappointing at best. I dunno, I loved Rose as much as any Chicagoan during his peak years, his injury felt as brutal as anything I've ever experienced as a sports fan, I feel for what he had to go through with all the knee injuries, but I just can't get past that in my head.
  6. 6 or 8 teams would have been absolutely perfect. 12 is too much.
  7. What a fun night at the UC with Caleb, PCA, Toews, etc
  8. He has the raw talent and IMO he's showed he has the mental component. You can't teach raw talent and the mental side (IMO) is difficult to teach. Footwork and accuracy seem very fixable. We're in a good spot with Caleb
  9. Exactly, there are so many ways to clear up money. It’s SOP for NFL teams these days. When you have no giant contracts (Sweat at $25m is the most, I believe only 2 contacts over $17m) and your QB and other key pieces are still on rookie deals you can really go out there and have an impactful offseason and continue to build. Just have to be smart and not do what the Commanders did last offseason.
  10. that’s over $30m with just those 3 moves
  11. I am seeing lots of people now saying the Bears can’t add in the offseason because of their cap position and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. They have no huge contracts, most of their draft picks and a ton of guys who would be perfect for restructuring. If anything I’d say they are in a great position to improve and can probably get $40-50m freed to improve the roster.
  12. That’s not what I said. I was trying to say that they either won the game outright, or they lost it on the final play edit: whoops someone already clarified for me lol. Carry on
  13. Crazy to think that 16 of the Bears last 17 games were either Bears wins or Bears losses that happened on the last play of the game. What a season.
  14. I wonder if things would have been different if he had just kept Thuney at LG and Benedet at LT. Benedet is a much better run blocker than a pass blocker. Caleb evades sacks at an elite level, maybe we should have kept things the way they were?
  15. Granted I'm several beers in and I think the defense played better than expected but Stafford was so off most of the night. Not sure how much of it was the cold affecting him. Crazy that they turned in a decent defensive performance without a single turnover.
  16. What was it 2nd and 8? It probably needed to be a pass. Probably didnt need to be 25 yards downfield. But that's where the Bears have lived all year so it is what it is I guess. If it's an accurate pass and DJ doesn't slow up on it, the Bears are celebrating right now.
  17. This is one of those losses where I went in thinking that the season could definitely end tonight and was at peace with it (though obviously not conceding the game) but because of how it ended with being 15 yards away from potentially winning it, it sucked me in and kicked me in the gut. That said I'm not as devastated as I would think I would be. My 10 year old though is experiencing his first true sports heartbreak which makes me very sad for him.
  18. Also it’s not even the first or second time DJ has loafed on a route. I mean yes blame DJ but 15 yards away from FG range I’m not sure I love the decision to throw 25 yards downfield. But that’s raw emotion talking
  19. horsefeathers Caleb. Absolutely essential to us getting there. Terrible decision at the worst time. I realize DJ had a lot to do with it but damn future is bright tho
  20. I’m not mad if we lose I’m mad how we lost if we lose. Ugh
  21. Can’t believe short yardage play calling and execution may be our deathblow
  22. May live to regret this but Stafford looks COLD
  23. 7 INTs in the regular season, 4 In the playoffs so far. That was the first that wasn’t on 4th down though
  24. wtf Rome. Wasn’t sure hands his thing in the draft?
  25. The ones they failed on were both defensible imo. One was on the first drive when you are trying to set a tone on 4th and 2. The other was on fringe FG range on 4th and 1. Maybe the play calls can be scrutinized but I’m fine with the decisions.
