I think its funny that Busch hit a fly ball that only would have been a HR in Houston (shortest LF porch) and another that only would have been a HR at Yankee Stadium (shortest RF porch)
Yeah, the current owner of the trophy retains the Cup in the event of a tie. I mostly joke when I bring up the Crosstown Cup because I haven’t seen anyone talk about it or give it out on the field for a few years. But technically the Cubs have held it since 2023
Ok it was worth sitting through some crappy moments and then some tense moments.
1 win in the next 2 games secures us the Crosstown Cup for another season
Will be interesting to see how this inning revolves around Owen Miller hitting 4th. I don’t know much about him but his big league track record as a hitter is…not good
Glad they got the clutch hit and were still playing but repeated failures with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs yet again tonight.
2-3-4 up for the White Sox now. Hope it wasn’t a missed opportunity.
He has to face 3 total batters, meaning he didn't have to face Bennitendi, but he ended up having to because Craig had no one up and throwing even though the alphabet guy was all over the place
If a reliever closes the previous inning, he does not have to face 3 batters
He could have been pulled at any point and besides no one was even warming up so even if there was a 3 batter minimum in effect Craig had no thoughts of removing him until it was way too late.
Cubs have had a runner in scoring position in 7 of their 8 innings, and have only scored in 2 of those innings (on solo HRs and an infield single and error)
No but seriously brilliant managing not even warming anyone else up as your pitcher was either throwing balls way out of the zone or center cut pitches. WTF Craig?
