  1. Oh it is, no probably about that. And im not going to classify the Iowa/UM game a mismatch, Iowa does play UM very tough. I remember in 1997, they probably came the closest to beating us (You could argue that ND, OSU, or WSU came closer, but I think Iowa did). I remember being down I think 21-7 at halftime after a Tim Dwight runback and wanting to cry. Thankfully Michigan pulled it off by shutting them down in the second half.
  2. Unfortunately for me, they're probably going to get one in April. Are you Brady Quinn?
  3. I believe they can set their roster each series. Why would they want Shelton on when he wasn't on the first 2 series rosters? Maybe a power PH off the bench for the NL games. Edit: Duh, because Casey is hurt my bad
  4. Dare I say that the Raiders are showing signs of life? Their front 7 has done a decent job of pressuring Plummer and stopping the running game. They really need to get a better QB then Walter though geez.
  5. THAT IS WHY I HATE EDMONDS!! How come other people don't see that??!! Flops into the wall, and pushes himself over. ridiculous. I mean it was a nice catch that he made, but the showboating makes it look stupid
  6. Good point, I got Michigan/Iowa to keep me company Saturday. But Bears games are like an all week thing for me, reading about game strategy and slowly getting more and pumped for the game. Chatter really dies on message boards on bye weeks and slowly gets started back up that next week. Oh well, time to get it over with...at least the first week is a short week :)
  7. The first thing I look for when schedules come out is the bye week and I dread it every time. 2 weeks without seeing your team play when there is no baseball or basketball going on is brutal. The bye week between the regular season and the playoff game last year was pure tortue and took my mind out of football mode.
  8. Geez, talk about a stinker of a week. There is one terriffic matchup (Cinci vs. Carolina), a couple of decent matchups (Pittsburgh vs. Atlanta, San Diego vs. KC - which is only good because its in KC, NYG vs. Dallas - ok probably a better matchup then the last 2) and then the rest are pretty much stinkers. AND no Bears game. Gonna be a long week.
  9. I think that the Chargers are either the best or second best team in football, with their opponent being the Bears. Now that Marty is letting Rivers go wild, they look unstoppable.
  10. At least you aren't 0-11 which I think I am Didn't you win the Carolina game? Whoops, your totally right 1-10 You must have been pretty bombed last night if you didn't pick Chargers over 49ers. I thought the 49ers were playing well enough to cover the spread :(

  12. At least you aren't 0-11 which I think I am
  13. You are an absolute genius, Derwood. Thanks. For my next trick, I'd also like to see the Super Bowl played in the stadium of one of the two teams playing in the game. Thats fine, hold the Super Bowl in Chicago
  14. Does Chambers ever get the ball
  15. I was hammered when I made these picks last night.....0-8 through the early games :( Edit: And with Pit up 28-0, I'm gonna lose that one too...this might be the worst week ever. Unbelievable...looks like I am going to be 0-11 going into the SNF game. This is pathetic and just bad...wow
  16. OMG, the equalizer for DC went off the crossbar in the 90th minute. Soooo close to having a tie game...wow
  17. Barcelona @ Chelsea is going to be on ESPN2, NICE (Wed. at 1:30PM)
  18. What? No way! I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT A COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF WOULDN'T WORK. STOP LYING! =; Only 1-AA and lower students athletes can handle the extra games along with their studies. That's right. It has nothing to do with the fact that no one would pay $150 a ticket to see New Hampsire vs. Youngstown St. in the Orange Bowl or anything Bah, UNH lost to James Madison yesterday, they haven't looked nearly as impressive as they did against Northwestern for the last 3-4 weeks.
  19. That was a spectacular goal. 2-1
  20. Iowa @ Michigan is proably the last major hurdle keeping OSU and Michigan from meeting as undefeated teams. Iowa always plays UM tough.
  21. See, I don't understand this line of thinking. WHO CARES if a WC makes/wins the World Series? They were obviously a good team to begin with, and if the other teams were truly better, they'd prove it. Second place teams win championships in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. Why is it such a travesty when it happens in baseball? I think the problem is that it happens so often in baseball. A WC team in the NFL who had to go on the road for all 3 games has only ever won the SB once in the NFL (last year's Steelers). In basketball, a team ranked 5-8 has only won 1 title (I'm pretty sure about this stat-I know the #6 ranked Rockets in the mid 90's were the lowest seed to ever win the title). Baseball has had a few wildcards win the WS in just over 10 years. WC's are just as likely as the 1, 2, or 3 seed to win in MLB, while that hasn't been true in either the NFL or the NBA. Exactly. With baseball, a short series strongly favors the team with the best starter (should said starter be able to pitch either game 1 or 2). All you need is 2 dominating performances by your starter and one win in the other 3 games and you win. Football and basketball don't have one player that can completely change the outcome of a given game. In the current scenario, I have no doubt that the current Cubs with Zambrano and Rich Hill going would have a better chance then most would think of advancing to the NLCS. How does taking away a home game change any of that? It doesn't...adding a second WC team and having them play a one game playoff does though
  22. GOALLL!!!! 1-0 Fire
  23. /Larry Johnson cannot run with this crappy offensive line
