  1. Are you sure? Bennetts hit was a double to the gap. But locially speaking, yes Wilson doesn't score if hes thrown out at 2B
  2. OOC, I was only half watching the game, who else was available? Wuertz Aardsma Ohman Dempster Not exactly a murderers row of pitchers there.
  3. Cubs have now lost 6 of last 7 games...safe to say the 'hot streak' is over
  4. I think Ausmus is still ahead Does Neifi count? He's starting in all the Tigers' games since his acquisition. Hes not one of the 168 qualified players. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting?seasonType=2&type=reg&sort=OPS&minpa=0&split=0&season=2006&pos=all&hand=a&league=mlb&ageMin=17&ageMax=51&qual=true&count=128
  5. Damn that Dusty....always trying to get fired
  6. Do you think we score this series? By my inaccurate count its been 21 innings
  7. You gotta figure that Miller will get a start at some point, so make that 15
  8. Can't believe that you didn't catch this tidbit in that column:
  9. But dude we didnt have our horses all year
  10. Someone want to tell Dusty that game time is not the time to play with his kids?

Bradley is coming off major knee surgery. I dont think you can count on him being the #2 receiver. Berrian, is probably going to be that #2 receiver, with Davis being the slot receiver. Muhammad, will continue to drop passes as the Bears #1 receiver. Exactly, we are stuck with Muhammad. Davis will be a slot receiver, and Berrian has looked very good for most of camp (with him yet to really show it in the games). Bradley will be a fallback option and most people would agree that he has potential. Worse comes to worse we have Gage. The point was, theres really no spot to play Branch unless you want to hinder Berrian and Bradley's progress.

I don't think we need a receiver. Between Muhammad, Berrian, Davis and Bradley (not even counting Gage) we have enough quality WRs.
  13. Not going to watch, I'll be at the Bears game. Do me a favor Cubs and knock the Cards out of first place please.
  14. I remember Mike Murphy made a big deal about this in June. The hitting and pitching coaches aren't coaching the players during this time and are instead coaching these corporate execs living out their dream. Not sure if this is standard throughout baseball or not.
  15. Not that Dusty will be back anyways, but this would be a sort of good thing if he was coming back. At least trying to add power is better then trying to add more speedy weak hitting low OBP middle IFs. Of course this will only put us at 2005 level (79-80 wins) and thats only if we upgrade pitching too.
  16. Maybe he's a bit lucky but in July and August hes gone 8-1 with a 3.13 ERA before that he was 7-3 with a 5.60 ERA So yeah lucky until July and now just plain good.
  17. Did anyone else want to see Pierre go Willie Mays Hayes style leaping over the catcher, touching home and sommersaulting back to his feet?
  18. Wow, we have the worst baserunners and OF arms ever
  19. It wasn't the best play, but I've seen at least 20 worse plays on the basepaths by the Cubs this year. If that means anything at all. It was a slow chopper to the 3B, and I think ARam ran on contact.
