  1. Wow took a total of 16 pitches to get the last 6 Cubs outs.
  2. Yeah come out hacking Murton. You idiot
  3. Why the hell is he swinging on a 2-0 count???
  4. Meaning that they will both K looking
  5. 3 of Ramirez's 4 ABs have been the 1 pitch variety
  6. Somehow he managed to face 4 batters, give up a walk and a single but only throw 9 pitches. Again, what are they in a hurry for
  7. At the very least lets not make the 9th be Murton, Kendall, PH
  8. C'mon DeRosa, lets make Dempster come in for the 9th
  9. Thats the 2nd or 3rd time that he got out on the first pitch. What's he in a hurry for?
  10. Lets hope his day is a lot like this one: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=260409116
  11. BTW, Jones is now 1 for his last 15 if you include the postponed game last night. If you don't include that (and I don't blame you if you don't) its 1-13. Its probably just a bump though because he was pretty hot before that.
  12. what?!?! Yeah, no way. I want to squeeze every last drop of blood out of this one. It could have been called and an automatic loss basically. Yeah, you're right. I didn't think that comment through. I'm going to take the next couple of plays off.
  13. Now I kinda just want the Cards to get like 8 runs so this doesn't tie up my last hour at work
  14. Bah, waited 90 minutes for that crap. Looks like the hitters were rustier than the pitchers.
  15. Interesting. How long was the delay?
  16. ^^ Bump? I asked this question in this thread and got the following response: Ah yes. Message Boards: The cornerstone of accuracy. I'm pretty sure a Cardinal fan isn't going to say a player on his own team of doing something if he didn't actually believe it. If you want to find out how CFICT knows, ask a question in that thread or send him a PM. But there is no reason not to believe him. by that reasoning, I should have gone out and bought a Griffey Cubs jersey in mid june. It's a message board, rumors get started/exaggerated/spread all the time, particularly if they're used humorously. It's more like a joke that Ankiel did cocaine, it seems like. And anyone having doubts about it, wanting to know the real story should certainly ask. It's a downright immature thing to accuse someone of if it's not true -- but I wouldn't put it past some people. Doing a google search for "Ankiel" and "cocaine" this is the only thing I found http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/2001-02-07/2001-02-07-cover.htm He has obviously been exposed to cocaine, but there is no proof here that he ever did coke.
  17. No they don't, thats not the new rules. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270627121 There's an example of a game shortened by rain this year.
  18. No they don't, thats not the new rules.
  19. Except if it gets called at this point it's a suspended game. With the Cubs losing the full inning would have to be completed for it to be a final. That's not true. The Cardinals had the lead at the end of 6, and the Cardinals have the lead now. If the game is called, the game is over with the Cardinals winning 5-4 in 6 innings. I'm definitely not liking that rule. If the home team is losing they should get the same # of at-bats as the visiting team received. Why? It doesn't matter, they revert back to the last completed inning.
