  1. At least Pujols is available to PH. And Soul your right this thing isn't over yet. But if the Cubs go 2-4 we've all but clinched it. With Lilly going twice potentiall and Z going once, I find that hard to not accomplish. But then again, these are the Cubs
  2. Sweet Jeebus  This makes it unbelievably tempting to reduce the number of people I'm bringing down to one, then selling off the other two to pay for my plane ticket and two days' worth of beer. Those prices will only go up as the cubs clinch and we find out who they play and when. Not necessarily. People who are willing to pay those prices are paying them now. If people who are thinking of selling flood the market with more tickets, it's possible some may be found for a little cheaper. Of course, the prices could jump some as the match-ups become final and fans of the opposing team decide to make the trip and buy tickets. I think the prices would be highest now as fans who were relying on getting tickets via the Cubs are now desperate to snatch up whatever they can. That and the fact that the Cubs had an awesome weekend that seeminly assures them of a playoff spot (as a fan I can't believe that yet), and the initial demand will be sky high. Eventually, the market will even itself out and will bottom out until about 1-2 days prior to the events when they will jump sharply again.
  3. Good. Hopefully the Cubs get KC instead. I'm always irritated that the Cards get 2 series against KC each year. Actually, I think the Cubs are slated to face the AL East this year, but for some reason sometimes odd matchups out of those divisions happen. I am almost positive that we will see the Cubs make a trip to Fenway and Tampa Bay while they will also host the Orioles as none of these 3 events has occured in interleague play yet.

  5. I penciled this game in as the only one the Cards have a shot at winning. The matchup couldn't be better. Their best starter vs. the Brewers worst.
  6. That was before today, at least I am assuming it will go down after today. Cubs = 97.4 Brewers = 2.6 Wow, it's really that much in our favor now? I could see the crew ripping off, say 5-2 in their last 7 at home. Cubs would need to win 2 games, on the road. That's losing 2/3 in each series. Ok, it's definitely in our favor big time but I would have thought more like 80%. If you played the season out 100 times from this point, wouldn't you think a team thats 3.5 games up with 6 to play would win it more than 80 times? Remember the computer doesn't know that a few days ago it was tied. The Cubs could have been 20 games up in mid-August and now 3.5 up. Either way, the odds that a team has managed to be good enough amass a 3.5 game lead through 156 games will be able to win enough to make the playoffs an extremely high perentage of the time

    NL MVP?

    Geovany Soto
  8. Splitting 6 games with Florida and Cincy could be enough to clinch, regardless of Milwaukee. I could pee my pants. Wait, 3 would clinch? I thought the magic number was 4 now? My bad. I fixed it in this post
  9. Oh what could I do to make this day even better? Oh yeah, I am leaving in an hour to go to the Bears game. This is so weird, I have barely thought about the Bears at all today. And this isn't just any game, its a battle for NFC supremacy (if the Packers go back to sucking).
  10. If these scores hold...this is what we are looking at. If the Cubs go...Brewers need to tie...to win 0-6...4-3...5-2 1-5...5-2...6-1 2-4...6-1...7-0 3-3...N/A...N/A 4-2...N/A...N/A 5-1...N/A...N/A 6-0...N/A...N/A
  11. ETGAWEIHARHIAREHIAHIA Packers pretty much just clinched victory over SD and will move to 3-0
  12. It came less than an inch or two from hitting him. I thought it did at first. Game's on TBS BTW

  14. 2 on 2 outs for the Braves. Andruw Jones is up as the go ahead run
