  1. I'm just glad it wasn't a DP. I'd take a DP in that situation as long as a run scores and ties the game.
  2. Ugh, here comes the inevitable DP. If we don't at least tie this inning, this is pathetic.
  3. So we hit a basehit off the wall and a hit towards the gap with runners on 1st and 2nd and we only score 1? aghhhh this game is driving me bananas.
  4. He is good at that. Pirates conceding the run on a grounder
  5. If we don't score here, I predict we don't make the playoffs.
  6. You're going to procreate? Congratulations! I deserve that
  7. Monroe makes me want to make the world a worse place.
  8. Man this looks like a Zambrano start, not a Marquis start.
  9. This is my fault guys, I was confidently talking about buying playoff tickets to my coworkers 20 minutes ago.
  10. Just gotta tip your cap to the Pirates offense.
  11. So looking at long relief options, who do we have? Is Gallagher on the team? I am sure it would be Hart though
  12. This is not the season of individual goals, but looking upon the numbers for the season, these are the statistical goals I would like to see the Cubs reach. Alfonso Soriano: .300 BA (.293), 30 HR (29), 70 RBI (60) Mark DeRosa: .300 BA (.297) Derrek Lee: .300 BA (.313), 20 HR (18), 80 RBI (74) Aramis Ramirez: 25 HR (24), 100 RBI (92) I'm too lazy to do more
  13. Here comes the 'we got all of our runs in the first inning' offense
  14. Has he really been hit that hard? I'm not watching the game but anyone who allows Nyjer Morgan to go 2-2 and for Izzy to hit a double can't be pitching well.
  15. This is why I still worry about Marquis pitching a one game playoff against the Brewers. Sometimes he just has starts like this where he is very hittable.
  16. Are you kidding me? If anything the Red Sox Nation has been stronger since they won the World Series. The psyche of the Red Sox fans remains the same. They get pissed when their players aren't performing well, have an unbelievable inferiority complex towards the Yankees, and still freak out when New York is in their rear view. And don't believe when Bill Simmons insecurely tries to make it seem like hes not worried. The Cubs would change not at all if we won the World Series.
  17. This is pathetic. Those uniforms look like the Royals home unis from the back and side. I actually kinda liked the old Rays uniforms. Do they think this is going to change their losing culture or are they just trying to hide the losing by looking hideous. No road greys? WTH?
  18. Thats it? With all their callups those are the only 2 left? Or do you mean prominent hitters on the bench?
  19. Tony Gwynn in for Mench. Brief night for Kevin.
  20. I don't like it because its a sign of things to come Monday-Wednesday
  21. Mike Fontenot hates him more that vile scumbag
  22. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200409300.shtml One of them was. But we had already screwed the pooch pretty bad by that point. Wow. I totally forget Harang pitched that game! Looking back on those games, I almost forgot how much of the fault for the Cubs collapse Austin Kearns was. Look at this Game 3 of the series (9/29/04): -Game tied 1-1 in the third, bases loaded and 2 outs for Sosa. Sosa just misses a grand slam by inches as Austin Kearns makes a leaping catch against the vines to rob Sosa of at least a double and the Cubs of at least 2 runs. -Cubs up 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th and 2 outs. Runner on third. Austin Kearns hits a double to score the tying run. -Top of the 12th still 2-2, Austin Kearns hits a game winning 2 run home run. Game 4 of the series (9/30/04): -Top of the 7th, Cubs up 1-0 with 2 outs. Austin Kearns hits a game tying HR
