  1. This is random. Maybe Hendry told him he had to replace Mark DeRosa's production this year.
  2. Yeah...I chose decent, but I was probably thinking of a word one level of certainty less than decent but couldn't think of it. He definitely has the potential to be as good as Wade...his numbers aren't all that different than Wade's rookie year (at a younger age), and if you could pick the superstar style that Rose plays the most like, in a lot of areas Wade would be a pretty good comparison. There is still obviously a long way to go until Rose is in Wade's stratosphere but he has a decent shot. But the whole point of my post was, because the Bulls have chosen to build their team around Rose (most likely), you cannot acquire a player that would stifle Derrick Rose. Wade is a great player and is probably the second best player in basketball, but for the Bulls a better choice to allocate their resources to would probably be the 15th best player (very relative ranking) Chris Bosh to put alongside Rose and hope that Rose develops into a superstar.
  3. Gah, we might not get anything out of this. You know, sometimes a basehit will do just fine.
  4. That's odd to see a lefty leading the league in BAA vs. righties. Makes me wonder why Bradley was hitting righty up there.
  5. Damn, if that doesn't hit him, it might be 1-0 Cubs. C'mon Lee, no DPs. Get something in the air.
  6. Alright Bradley, time to show us your not selfish and drive someone else in for the first time this year.
  7. Wow, Bob was right when he said Lewis has had some issues in LF...that was an easily catchable ball.
  8. It seems like a bad idea to have both Wade and Rose on the same team. It's never a bad idea to have the 2nd best player in the NBA on your team. You are trying to build the best team not a team with the most overall talent although a lot of times that ends up happening. Is it worth it to get the 2nd best player in basketball when a player you have has a decent shot of being as good? If you get Wade he is going to stifle Roses game and hinder his potential. Instead you can go agressively after a player like Bosh who can improve the team and not at the expense of Rose. This way you likely end up with a better and deeper team instead of one headlined by Wade and a wannabe/could become wade.
  9. I'm not too worried. Zambrano hasn't been pitching that great and I think we have enought pitching depth to withstand 2-3 weeks without Z. This injury would have been devistating in 07 but now its managable as long as he's out for less than 3 weeks. And I think its stupid for people to say he shouldn't be bunting. Z is going to do whatever he can to win a game. Obviously the most important thing is for him to pitch well, but if he sees a hole in the D, he's gonna take advantage and he should. When Z is in the lineup, I expect him to produce and act like a regular hitter for the most part. If Zambrano had hit a slow grounder to SS and got injured running to first, are you going to say Zambrano shouldn't hit at all? Zambrano is a gamer and should do whatever it takes to help him win when he pitches, and if he gets hurt doing that, so be it.
  10. I know people want the marquee matchup with the Wings, but I'd rather have the Ducks for sure! I think the Ducks are better than their seed, and to beat San Jose and Detroit would mean they are definitely doing something right, but I think the Hawks match up much better against them than Detroit, and plus obviously we'd have home ice advantage. I'm not trying to get too far ahead of myself, because the Hawks are in a tough series and so are the Ducks but if that matchup happens, I think we end up in the Stanley Cup Finals. Lots of hockey to play though.
  11. Tough matchups this series with Sanchez and Lincecum
  12. I might literally get crucified by members of this forum if I start another injury thread.
  13. Nice first out. I thought for sure that Gregg was going to walk the leadoff man, as is the custom for the Cubs pen.
  14. Uh oh...Bradley getting the boo birds? I wonder if it has anything to do with being paid $10 million to contribute 5 hits in 42 ABs while driving in 2 runs.
  15. Did you know that the Cubs have had the hardest SOS so far this season? Obviously a lot of that is due to playing St. Louis for 6 and Florida.
  16. Oh come on, its May 3rd and he's been back from injury for 3 weeks now. Why is Bob still excusing Soto for being in Spring Training mode?
  17. Very Cub like for the Marlins there...I bet they are kicking themselves for only getting 1.
  18. Bullpen and defense are what appear to be the major weaknesses on this team thus far. The offense has been a problem, but I am not worried about that being a season long problem.
  19. With Lee and Soto showing signs of life...who are we left to wait for now? Looks like Bradley is all alone in the complete and utter suckatude dept.
  20. Good to know that Fontenot likes water after his HRs, while DLee prefers lime gatorade after his.
  21. Gathright might have been able to score there
  22. lol, now watch as Harden tries to break up a DP and injures his shoulder, knocking out 40% of the rotation in one inning.
  23. Love me some Z bunt singles. Edit: Except when Z gets hurt.
