  1. I agree. People say that from time to time. I figure the fact that we are the only big market team in the division evens out the disadvantage of having to beat out 5 other teams instead of 4 (or 3 in the AL West). But just looking at the average wins it takes to win the NL Central vs. other divisions, I don't see how it's any harder to win the Central than the East or West.
  2. Whatever...the NL loses every year anyways. I'd rather just see it happen and see the MLB flip out about it.
  3. Different Manny. I could easily be wrong, but I interpreted that article meaning that he told a couple of reporters and they scooped him on the story and told him it was another Ramirez.
  4. Anyone catch the Murt Hurt last night? First one away from the Cubs.
  5. Yeah, if that's true, its pretty obviously he was roiding. When I first heard the story, I was thinking it would be a JC Romero kinda story, but its becoming pretty clear he was roiding.
  6. I wonder when "Steroid clauses" are going to become standard on all baseball contracts.
  7. ESPN just said it was "HCG" (I think?), a woman's fertility drug, a drug used to restart one's system of natural hormones after coming off steroids.
  8. I don't think Manny is trying to get out his suspension. He's trying to clear his name and his legacy. JC Romero accepted his suspension but wanted people to understand that he isn't a steroids user or purposely trying to improve his performance by using a banned substance.
  9. Just thank your lucky stars we didn't have to face Wandy or Moehler.
  10. Yeah...I think we have a series against them at the end of May
  11. I always love when bad stuff happens to the Dodgers, 1) because they beat us last October, and 2) because I get to read the reactions of the Dodger Blues message board. One of the posters is claiming it was a test that was failed last season, but I can't see that being true. If it was, I'd be pissed if he wasn't suspended come playoff time. Edit: An example of the hilarity at DB.com:
  12. Yeah stupid Blackhawks and Bulls making the playoffs. How ridiculous of them. Is that the reason behind all these games this year? I knew it seemed like alot of games this season have been on CSN+ or WCIU, but wasnt exactly sure if that was the reason. Yeah both teams have/had their playoff games broadcast on CSN. Makes sense that there would be a lot of Cubs games on CSN+ since they obviously don't know the playoff schedule beforehand when they make their Cubs schedules.
  13. Well it only matters if Miles contract is preventing the Cubs from getting another player. Or if they were going to consider DFA'ing him I guess.
  14. Yeah stupid Blackhawks and Bulls making the playoffs. How ridiculous of them.
  15. I think most posters finally got fed up with the game threads and decided to never go in there. The lack of Cubs talk in general is appaling. When I click "View New Posts", the majority of posts are non-baseball related.
  16. Milwaukee has been better than I thought so far. I didn't think they'd be awful, but they seem to be winning every night.
  17. Rich has pitched decent tonight, but hes still not the Rich Hill we traded for last July.
  18. It's not a horrible move. I mean the backend of the bullpen is a mess, and he's pitched well in spring and for Iowa. He should perform better than Shark at least. He may not have the stuff he used to have and if he starts pitching well, just when we start to count on him he'll blow out his arm, but what he lacks in stuff, he makes up for in experience and know how. Man, I've been following the Cubs for too long...I know how to BS just like they do.
  19. Just heard on ESPN1000 that sources told Levin that Chad Fox is expected to be called up for tonights game. No word on who goes down but I'm sure we can make concrete guesses.
  20. He's got to be on pace for like 450 PA by now, no? Sure that's because he had to fill-in while Ramirez was out, but that's been the problem all along. They got the guy and he's going to play a lot, and he sucks. He's on pace for 472 PAs
  21. No, the regulars that sat yesterday are in there, while the regulars that played yesterday (Lee, Fukudome and Fontenot) are resting. Miles moves from SS to 2B, Hoffpauir moves from LF to 1B, and Johnson replaces Gathright. Fun times. I wonder if this is something Lou is going to do a lot this year (sitting all the starters once in a 2 game span). I was kinda excited to see Ramirez come back so we could see the 100% lineup for the first time in awhile, but so far I haven't seen one with Soriano, Theriot, Fukudome, Ramirez, Lee, Bradley, Soto, Fontenot in it yet.
  22. Probably shouldn't post things like this on a Cubs forum. Might give us ideas.
