    I want to say "please rain pick up and wash this game out", but I'm thinking we need to hit rock bottom as quickly as possible so we can get this turned around. I hope we come back and win, but if we can't I hope this game doesn't get washed out so we can feel the sting of another loss.

    I think Lou has to explode at some point...if he hasn't already. This has all the feelings of a funeral out there...like we expect to lose before the first pitch is thrown. I know that's probably not the case...its easy to say that when the team is losing but man it just looks depressing out there.

    I'm sick of opponents getting hits off the Cubs on 2 strike counts. I feel like every hit the other team gets is with 2 strikes on them.

    Well we'll know within the first couple innings if the Cubs are winning or not. If the Cubs come out swinging the bats well, we're looking good. If its more of the last 2 days, we're done.

    I just got done watching my recording of the game. The Hawks will be fine. Sure its tough to lose Game 1, and yes this was a good shot to steal 1 on the road. But the Hawks showed that they could bounce back after being outplayed in the first 2 periods. I feel pretty confident with the 2 Chicago games. If we drop one of those, then I start to worry. It isn't a series until the home team loses a game.

    So its certainly worse, but those numbers aren't outrageously far apart and could correct themselves I guess. Thanks.

    Can someone with a better knowledge of defensive metrics tell me how the Cubs are doing defensively compared to last year? I know last year the Cubs had a surprising FRAA and everyone expected it to fall closer to expected level this series. It's hard to tell that with the naked eye but it sure seems so this year. I would be willing to bet some of our struggles are related to that.

    Weird...they said Rondo wasn't ejected because he didn't throw a punch. C'mon, isn't grabbing someone's arm spinning them around and tossing them into the scorer's table just as bad? I mean, that move had nothing to do with playing basketball, it was a complete cheap shot aimed at taking Kirk out of the game, or at least somehthing that he decided to do in the heat of the moment out of frustration. Playoff series or not there is no place in basketball for that crap. That said, I don't think they'll suspend Rondo for the game. Complete BS but they won't. I got back from the game a little while ago. Best sporting event I've ever been at. I don't even care the Hawks and Cubs lost tonight. I'll worry about that later when I come off this high.

    i had them as a 92 or 93 win team going into the year, lee's regression and dempsters regression takes five or so off. i had already incorporated a KF rebound. You had a Fukudome rebound but you didn't account for a regression by Dempster?
