I'm not arguing that Forte is in the same class as APete, but the Bears O-line was awful in the running game last year and Forte was pretty much the only threat on offense for the Bears (there was Hester, but Orton couldn't get him the ball in deep routes, and Olsen but he wasn't on the field more than 60% of the time). There were a lot of times where there were 8 in the box, and Forte still had to fun through it. I would say Forte is an above average starting RB, not slightly. The fact that a guy his size could handle as many touches as he had both in the running and passing game was impressive. I would say its comparing Peyton Manning to Donovan McNabb. McNabb is never going to be as good as Manning, but most of the time he's a very nice asset to have and better than your run of the mill QB that maybe 20 teams in the league employ.
