  1. No wonder Froliks shooting % is like 2%. How do you not get some air on that. 2-0. You suck Hawks
  2. And finally they make us pay
  3. have we concluded there is no answer to this? i realllllllly want to throw some money away, someone help me. I said check out 5dimes. Do you have me on ignore or something?
  4. Well this was fun to read after the fact. The funniest part was SSR begging people for attention and for the most part getting ignored.
  5. I'm sure they weren't necessarily miserable, they just didn't really have much of a reaction when they were announced.
  6. Guess he's still angsty about not getting called up in September.
  7. I KNOW! I'm glad someone else noticed that. Even Demp was pretty blah about the whole thing. Edit: Actually Byrd looked pretty happy as well.
  8. LMAO, nice reporting Sullivan: Of course Bruce Miles nails it:
  9. Woody was just announced at the Cubs Convention as the Cubs most recent acquisition so I guess he signed.
  10. Well, the thing is its obvious Theo and Jed love Rizzo. They've acquired him 3 separate times basically. I don't see them making a trade for him only to ship him off in another trade. They could move Rizzo to corner OF or something, but he was a above average glove at 1B, clearly will be better than Fielder. So it doesn't seem like there is much of a point to signing Fielder. You obviously don't move him to the OF. I am pretty sure that this Fielder stuff is BS unless by "Cubs terms" they are talking something like 3 years with a team option.
  11. Jeff Fisher finally decided on the Rams.
  12. Oh dear. It's possible he could be useful for certain teams in the NBA, but I'm not sure how he fits with this current Bulls team. Who is going to get less playing time? Asik? Taj? Noah and Boozer already get like 25 mins per game. Maybe if he accepts being in a Kurt Thomas role, but knowing Sheed, he's not coming back to sit on the bench for 90% of the season.
  13. All of our bigs have terrible hands. Asik is by far the worst, Noah has gotten worse over the offseason. Tajs are not as bad as Omers but they are definitely below average. And you touched on Boozer who has significant problems as well. I have no idea why they all have so much trouble but I watch other teams and their bigs for the most part can catch sharp passes into the paint.
  14. Wow Dwight Howard has attempted 39 FTs tonight, shattering the NBA record of 34 by Wilt back in the 60's. Also has a 45pt/23reb game
  15. At least they lost a point. Detroit got 2 tonight as well. I guess its far enough into the season to start seriously following the other teams.
  16. Hayes and Shaw are players. Gotta love that we've got these kind of guys ready to come up and contribute. As for Kane making the all star team, sharp was more deserving. Though his injury may have hurt his chances. Great trade for Bowman to acquire Hayes. He was a 1st round pick by Toronto the year before and the Hawks gave up a 2nd rounder to get him. Funny thing is, his brother was thought to be the better prospect I believe. One of the reasons the Hawks made that trade was because they drafted his brother in the 1st round of that draft.
  17. Also, I heard today that 3 Hawks made the All Star team: Kane, Hossa, Toews. I think Kane went in on name recognition alone. Not that he's having a bad year but there are a lot of worthy forwards out there and I thought he'd be squeezed out.
  18. No comments on the Hawks dominating 2nd period? They are up 4-1 now.
  19. And Minnesota is going to win in Bloomington, stopping the Gophers' 0-4 start in the Big Ten
  20. This is getting good. Indiana down 3 with the ball and 15 seconds left. Gus Johnson on the call of course
  21. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/42058 Not really sure how switching Taj and Boozer in the rotation helps Deng. Unless he's just saying that Boozer can take the scoring load for the minutes that Rose and Deng are sitting? That's exactly why IMO. The usual bench mob when everyone is healthy is Watson, Brewer, Deng, Gibson, Asik. Deng is the only real "slasher" in that group. I could see a bench mob of Lucas, Watson, Brewer, Boozer, Asik being effective. The only problem with all of this is that the reason why the bench mob has been so effective is because of their lockdown defense, which is considerably better than the starting 5. Adding one of the worst defenders in the NBA to that group instead of Taj Gibson really hurts that. I personally think the better move would be to move Asik to the starting lineup and Noah off the bench. Noah has some offensive value but he seems lost out there with Rose, Deng and Boozer all getting theirs, not to mention Rip when healthy. Noah can give you great defense next to Gibson, as he did at the beginning of last year, and the hope would be that getting him going on defense again might give him some confidence and the overall boost that he needs to play like the guy they gave a $60 million to last year.
  22. Worked out for the teams that signed Chapman, Contreras, Kendrys Morales and Alexi Ramirez. Edit: I'll readily admit I don't know enough about the Cuban league to have a long intellectual discussion about the quality of the league. I just remember several players coming from there to the bigs and having success their first year. Most of them, especially Alexi, I heard tons of discussion about how bad the quality of the Cuban league was and the doubts that he would adjust quickly at all. I remember people being shocked that Alexi was going to start the season in the bigs.
