  1. It's Peter Gammons, he's probably just catching up on January news now. I think he's finally accepted that Theo is not on the Red Sox anymore and lifted his embargo on Cubs news.
  2. Well thats his fault isnt it?
  3. I'm not sure Orlando would even do Noah, Boozer, Charlotte pick, right to Mirotic, future Bulls first, but i think Orlando would at least consider it. If they trade Howard, Im thinking Orlando might just want to bottom out and in the process collect all the cheap but valuable assets they can get their hands on. They know they can recruit top FAs when they are available and if they want to make a trade a year or two from now Mirotic and Bobcat pick (if not Estes yet) are increasingly more valuable without costing Orlando anything to hang on to. So I think theyd consider it but ultimately say no. Obviously Jimmy Butler would be the tipping point.
  4. Depends. Even though not having a decent backup QB literally destroyed a promising season last year, I am not sure that something like that happens often enough to spend big on backup QB. But if we do have some money lying around after our FA signings are done and draft picks are signed, I wouldnt be opposed to signing Orton. As long as we keep the amount guaranteed low.
  5. Bennigans Montr Cristo sandwhich was my first thought.
  6. You're kidding me right?
  7. Just when you think they turned the corner they come up with a stinker like this. Not that I expected to beat the Blues in STL, but they have looked pretty bad tonight.
  8. Was this during the day? I can't believe I wouldn't have noticed anything. Ill ignore your first sentence, but there was a 3-4 day period in February where all of the lights were on at Wrigley for several hours at night. That's when the commercial was filmed. At night.
  9. That sounds fantastic. TruTV was probably dancing in the streets after they were given the rights to broadcast this.
  10. Oh yeah. I was walking my dogs around the park when they were doing this a few weeks back. Kinda hard for me to feel the realism when I know most of it was filmed in 20 degree weather in the dead of winter.
  11. I highly doubt they will. At least this year. He's definitely all star caliber. Maybe next season when it becomes time to consider extensions they will entertain that, because he probably deserves a near max deal.
  12. They were a lot better this year than last. Before the game today, they were over 50 spots higher in Pomeroy rankings than last year (and 178x more likely to win the Big East tourney than last year). Decent progress. They have to have a winning season and post season play next year as their goal (something like 10-2 noncon and 7-11 conference). The thing that was encouraging is that they got blown out a lot less in the BE this year, and in quite a few games were in it down the stretch (Providence, Louisville, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, St. John's) Then there were other games where DePaul was competitive or leading at halftime and fell apart in the 2nd half (Marquette, Georgetown). I'm sure some of it is from taking the opponent lightly (DePaul did have multiple games the last couple of years where they took a ranked team down to the wire to lose), but I also like to think that this is part of the learning process. As the team gets older, I hope to see them pulling out those games on occasion.
  13. Goodbye DePaul. It was a fun year. 3 whole Big East wins? That's as many as you had the last 3 seasons combined. Good job boys! Hopefully with another year of experience under Prunell and a reletively decent recruiting class (by DePaul's standards), they can at least compete for a postseason berth (CBI or even NIT). There are no Mac Koshwall or Dar Tucker 4 star prospects in the class but a couple of highly regarded 3's filling positions of need should really help. I think DePaul is very slowly going in the right direction, but next year is critical to determine is Prunell is going to pull this off.
  14. The machine thinks you're GM of the Hornets. That was a solid 9.6. Very nice.
  15. I sound butt hurt because I'm...right? Kansas had one starter returning and lost arguably their three best players. They were 13th in the preseason Top 25 and will finish with a #1 seed in the tournament. It's not an egregious pick by any means. Compared to Iowa State and Missouri it certainly is(assuming we're using the standard COTY definition of most overachieving team) Was Missouri that much of an overachiever? They were ranked in the preseason. It's not like they came out nowhere, and they finished third in the conference in RPI. Again, not saying Self was the best pick, but it's not something to use as the basis for a conspiracy theory. Maybe. They were 25th in both polls so its not like they were really that highly thought of.
  16. If KU wasn't returning 5-star Eli Johnson, 4-star Thomas Robinson, 4-star Jeff Withey, 4-star Travis Releford and 4-star Tyshawn Taylor I'd be a little more wowed by their success. As is, they won a conference that a majority of the coaches picked them to win with a stacked lineup. Especially when you have schools like Missouri and Iowa State in the conference.
  17. Yeah, but what's that figure when you add in the women's programs? You have to take the women's program into consideration for trivia like this. Also, what's wrong with having a good women's program? I know IU's only sports are men's basketball and Notre Dame football but that's not the case for all schools. Senator Pelosi agrees
  18. I don't know if I like this argument....the Pacers could easily say "We challenged Chicago in every game of the series last year without David West on the team. I'm not scared of the Bulls" Bottom line is, we shut them down, down the stretch, something that good teams do, which is exactly what Miami did to us. If the Bulls and Heat didn't have the exact same finish for 4 straight games, I might be willing to consider that we were right there with Miami and just had bad luck. But its pretty clear that they found a way to shut us down when the game was on the line, and until we win one in that situation, people will continue to believe that Miami is better. I don't think they are. They beat us in OT and after a fluke comeback. One play pretty much goes are way we win those games. People seem to think that Miami is light years ahead of everyone and I just don't see it. I see no reason that the Bulls can't beat them even if Rip is hurt. I could see a rematch not even taking place though this year. When Boston and New York are the 7th and 8th seeds it's going to be a tough road in the playoffs for anyone. I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that when I said "people will continue to believe Miami is better" I meant the general public, not Bulls fans.

  20. Because Glass Rip is hurt again.
  21. Who is more durable? http://www.nwherald.com/_internal/cimg!0/9bxbwesya41oik6td28sbq2jcaaf5ie or http://www.walyou.com/img/Nintendo-games-characters-art-mike-tyson-glass-joe-1.jpg
  22. Nope. MSU, Michigan, and OSU were all locked in 1,2,3 respectively once Michigan beat PSU earlier.
