  1. How much of that .345 were shots from 7 years ago which was likely the last time he regularly played regular minutes and took shots that mattered? I'm not necessarily against him taking that shot, Rose was super passive the entire 2nd half so since he insisted on passing I'd like it to be the wide open guy, but I've seen people flaunt this .345 as if he was a 3 point specialist or something. If he could be counted on to hit 3's 35% of the time, he would get more playing time.
  2. It's worth it just for this. He already gave up on the Bears in favor of the Pats. Perhaps he's going to be a celtics fan now
  3. Yup, especially when you have the MVP on your team. Hey Derrick, Rip was 6-19 tonight, you don't have to keep passing to him instead of doing something yourself.
  4. DePaul wins at Rutgers! First season with at least 2 Big East wins since 2007-2008!
  5. Houston Oppressive Humidities
  6. Sweet a reverse Dave McGinnis.
  7. I would love to see this happen just so I could see Dan Gilbert and Cavs fans swallow their pride and pretend The Decision didn't happen. I am now rooting for this to happen. Actually, even better would be for the Cavs to sell out any pieces they may have in order to clear space for LeBron only for him to spurn them again.
  8. Blackhawks take a too many men penalty with 2 minutes left. Game over. I dunno I just get the feeling this team is on a downward spiral. And who knows how long Toews will be out. Seems like the prognosis of a week or two is not accurate.
  9. It's pretty glaring how much the Blackhawks miss Toews and Sharp out there. Obvious lack of playmaking out there.
  10. We kinda suck. Im not gonna lie, I don't feel like watching this anymore.
  11. already losing. 4th place is gonna be fun
  12. Phew...a road win!
  13. Jesus Christ Michigan can you stop fouling on defensive rebounding attempts
  14. 2 really stupid non-shooting fouls for Morgan in the last minute sending Purdue to the FT line. Stupid stupid.
  15. Lets ask Dale Tallon what he said to get us to bite on him.
  16. If UM loses this game I'm given up on them winning a road game in the Big Ten and since 2/3rds of their remaining games are on the road, the NCAA tourney will be in question soon.
  17. Do we even know how long Deng would be out with surgery? I feel like the main reason they are trying to avoid surgery is to prevent him from having to miss the season. I might have missed something about how long he would be out though.
  18. That's no good. If he gets surgery now I would think he's likely to be ok by the playoffs. If he tries to play through it and then realizes he can't and gets surgery then were likely talking about missing some or all of playoffs. Not good that it looks like probably our 2 best players are going to be playing through injuries the rest of the season.
  19. So the Wings won tonight....in regulation. That's good. They are now 3 points ahead of us with equal number of games played. Bad news is Nashville is cruising to a win. When they get those 2 points, they will be just 2 points behind the Hawks for 3rd place. Here is the current standings, assuming the Predators win: Detroit 49 GP 67 Points St. Louis 48 GP 64 Points Chicago 49 GP 64 Points Nashville 49 GP 62 Points On a side note, I thought the Hawks would have been the worst road team of the 4, considering their very mediocre 10-9-2 road record, but actually they have the 2nd best road record behind Nashville. The Wings and Blues have largely built their points primarily from home games. Wings are 13-13-0 on the road, and the Blues are just 8-10-3. Either way, the Hawks have a really really tough and long road trip coming up. They are going to have to show a level that they haven't shown so far this year if they want to come home from that road trip still in the division race.
  20. What? The difference in schedule is very meaningful in just a 16 game NFL season. For one, the AFC West exists. We're talking about a difference of less than 1 win per opponent played in a 16 game schedule. It's statistically insignificant. The difference in 7 win teams and 9 win teams is very little. Should also point out that 11 of their 13 wins this year were against teams with a record between 6-10 and 8-8. 8-8: 7 wins 7-9: 1 win 6-10: 3 wins 5-11: 1 win 2-14: 1 win Not that 8-8 teams are particularly awesome but its not like they were beating up on the dregs of the league every week.
  21. It's amazing how many sizable injuries we've had to key players within the first month of the season. Rose, Hamilton, Watson and now likely Deng and Gibson will all miss extended time with injuries. I fear that we cannot keep winning shorthanded like this, especially on the upcoming 9 game trip with several good teams on the schedule. I mean, its not a big deal to lose a few games while players keep recovering from various injuries, but I'm sure the number 1 seed is a major goal for them, and going on a 3-4 game losing streak could put the team well behind the others currently near the Bulls. Also, I fear that Deng's injury will hurt the Bulls more than Rose. Rose is clearly the better player, but I feel like having Watson and Hamilton healthy can replace more of what Rose brings than Butler can replace what Deng brings, being a mid range shooter that can shoot off the dribble, catch and shoot off balanced, slash to the lane and play excellent defense over SFs both short and tall. Brewer can play defense really well, but lacks in the other areas. I don't really buy Brewers jump shooting streak to start the season, and as someone pointed out, over the last week or two his shot has really gone south. Maybe Rose will just have to step up and be more of a scorer than he has been so far this year in Deng's absence to keep us going. That is assuming of course that he is healthy and not going to re-aggravate his toe injury by playing.
  22. Expectation level: 4th/5th seed. Optimistically hoping for the 3rd. As for championship, who knows. Probably either somehow convincing someone like Howard/Williams to come to Indy, or having George or Stephenson develop into a star. Both of those are possible but neither very likely. Signing/trading for Eric Gordon to add to the team has been talked about on Indiana boards ad nauseum as he might be the one decent star who would want to come to Indiana. Or they could try to luck out and win one like the Pistons did with no stars. The scenarios aren't great, but that's about the only ways they could go rather than try to get the #1 pick on the right year. They've done everything right so far-they have a young, deep team with lots of cap space. But their market is going to hold them back from so many options, so they have to tread carefully. I do think the current core as constructed has better potential than the Hawks ever did (more like the 90's Pacers level of potential) but even that team didn't win a title even after getting to the ECF 5 out of 7 years. I have a lot of respect for this Pacers team. I definitely think they are legit. Not trying to be a homer, but I'm not sure I think they can win the Central over the Bulls this year unless the Bulls multitude of injuries continues and catches up to them, but they will be a solid top 5 seed, and a team that has the potential to make a deep playoff run. The future is even more exciting for the Pacers. If you guys can continue winning this year and make a playoff run to at least the 2nd round if not the conference finals, I could see them being attractive to the right type of star. I don't think you have any shot at all of Howard or Williams unless you trade for them this season and they somehow fall in love with the team or city, but there are other stars available for trade and or FA that would have interest in a young, good core with lots of flexibility. The best thing about the Pacers situation is not only do they have the cap space, but they also have a lot of nice tradable assets to acquire a star player. Definitely more than the Bulls do. In terms of players that are cheap, young and are good with upside, the Pacers have the following at their disposal: George, Hibbert, Price, Collison, Stephenson, Amundson, Hansbrough, Hill. Depending on who they want to trade, each one of those players would entice a team looking to trade a star. Pretty nice setup for Pacers fans. Very interested to see how they build this team over the next year or two.
  23. Yeah that will be a fun week for you.
  24. For real? Maybe I speak for myself but I only have a tiny bit of regard for Brady because of his Michigan years. It's not like he had a long an illustrious career at Michigan. He was the backup his first 2 years, including the National Title year, had a rather mediocre year at a starter his junior season before finally having a really nice senior season. The Orange Bowl win in 2000 was a nice memory but overall he was never really one of those special Michigan players you remember and favor throughout their pro career (players like Henne, Manningham, and...even....Charles Woodson).
  25. Also, good luck attempting to beat your second winning team this year Patriots.
