  1. Opponent scores after Hawks fail to clear a puck. I am absolutely stunned.
  2. I lived near Boston at the time and watched the Celtics a bit back then because the Bulls were awful and never on TV and the Celtics had a likable team. As much as Toine sucked, he was an entertaining player with the shimmy. Walter McCartey was Tommy's role player du jour. Pierce was an emerging superstar. And with the East being absolutely pathetic, it seemed possible that the Celtics could get to the Finals. That 20+ point comeback against the Nets in the ECF was pure awesome, except for the fact that it was their only win of the series.
  3. Let's see if Manny tries to overturn his suspension now. All he needs to do is hire some really expensive lawyers to find a loophole or technicality and he's good to go.
  4. That's stupid. It just opens the door for more people to get their suspensions overturned, using this as precident. At least we got one good bit of knowledge out of this: Braun's rampant herpes.
  5. Very plausible, but the article said he was alone. The other thought is alcohol, but it was at 10 AM, and being drunk in the morning is really more of a Kane thing.
  6. Yes, I am sure people are going to wonder what a concussed hockey player was doing driving around the city. Based on what is posted above on this page it doesnt seem like the concussion was particularly severe, but how else do you randomly drive into an EL support beam?
  7. I swear to God, I'll pistol whip the next guy who says Brian Wilson.
  8. That Knicks team that made the Finals sucked also, but that was in a strike year. I feel like you could hand pick a good chunk of ECF participants from the early 2000's to give this award to. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2001.html I can't compute Milwaukee being in the ECF as recently as 12 years ago.
  9. Really? Butler too?? That was just my best guess at what the Lakers would be looking for in return. I'd much prefer to keep Butler. I think he could develop into a poor-man's Deng. Wow. Maybe just Mike James instead of Butler then. LA could use a good 4th string PG and will certainly bite on that.
  10. I dont particularly like Rondo (the person, not necessarily his abilities which I respect) but he obviously deserves to be in the ASG over Joe Johnson. Johnson isnt even having that good of a season at all. I was wondering why there wasnt more of an uproar that he made it over guys like Rondo and Josh Smith.
  11. I'm probably the only person who enjoyed those NIT runs. It's all I had for over a decade.
  12. That's optimistic. And Michigan fans know a thing or two about what it takes to get to the NIT. But not as much playing our way out of it.
  13. Also, kind of frustrating that the Wings and Predators have already made trade deadline acquisition and I am not seeing a lot of serious rumors for the Hawks (maybe I'm missing). The guy on the score tonight got me all worried when he suggested that Bowman is afraid to deal his prospects. He thinks Bowman will do nothing. If so that's a little frustrating.
  14. But it seems that the Hawks are running it a lot lately. Of course I do not watch all Hawks games, so maybe I am just catching them at the right times. Probably seems like a good option when your team has massive trouble clearing the puck. Even when playing conservative they make dumb mistakes which lead to backbreaking goals. I can understand it even though I hate the concept. Just saw the highlights on NHL.com, looks like it was a very entertaining game and Jimmy Howard was amazing as he always is against us.
  15. Hey! Only some of my rants are idiotic. Sorry i was actually at the game tonight so posting was sparse otherwise you might have gotten one. Yes believe it or not Michigan gets too 3 happy at times. Like in the last 10 minutes in the first half when they took a 3, contested or not on every possession and missed them all. It does drive me nuts when UM is struggling to score and for 3 straight possessions they do not move the ball inside the 3 point line and miss either contested 3s or 3s taken 3 steps behind the line. And Tim Hardaway Jr should almost never be shooting 3s. I don't care that he hit the one to tie it at the end of regulation, he missed like 6 in a row before that, several extremely forced. In general though I like that Michigan takes a lot of 3s, I just wish they had something else to go to when the other team is defending the perimeter well or the team is ice cold. Right now it would mean Burke driving to the lane which works occasionally but teams have been adjusting lately, or sometimes dump it into Morgan which probably has a 30% chance of working.
  16. Lunardis updated bracket after tonights game still has NW among his final 4 teams in. If they can win their last 3 games somehow (at Iowa, vs. Ohio state, at penn state) they'll have a pretty good shot at 19-11 (9-9). They'd probably be 1 BTT win and in.
  17. nah they are trying. This is their typical road effort.
  18. Tim Hardway Jr. is letting NU get to the NCAAs. What a swell guy. Edit: of course as I say that he hits one.
  19. Tim Hardaway Jr. 3/10 shooting 2/7 FT. Missed 5 consecutive FTs. An he's been taking every shot during a critical stretch for UM
  20. I kinda don't like Tim Hardaway Jr.
  21. That's optimistic.
  22. It's amazing how Michigan looks like a completely different team on the road. Every possession is a forced 3 pointer or a turnover.
  23. Eh, to me it looked pretty clear that he whipped the ball at the ref. The ref definitely wasn't prepared for it and the ball wasn't just tossed softly to him. Do I think what he did was all that bad? No, but based on previous suspensions in the NBA 2 games makes sense. Maybe 1 game plus the ejection he got would have been a little better. Then again, I don't like Ronda so my judgement is probably biased.
  24. My guess is that the Red Sox could have forced Theo to remain in Boston to serve out the remainder of the contract so they needed some convincing to agree to do that. So the official transaction is Chris Carpenter and a PTBNL to the Red Sox for a PTBNL. And then by making this trade, the Red Sox have "separately" agreed to let Theo out of his contract and sign with the Cubs. Except it happened completely out of order. I dunno if that addresses your question or if that is all obvious to you already and the question was more rhetorical.
  25. Even if Carpenter became a decent MR or whatever, I would be ok with Theo for Carpenter. I still think its too much but whatever, I'm sick of hearing about it, its over now and the chances of Carpenter for Theo being the next Brock for Broglio is slim to none.
