  1. That's such a strange rule. So he can come back after 80 games and play the rest of the regular season but once the playoffs start he is again ineligible. Perhaps he can help the fans at PNC Park make sure they are doing the correct chants in each inning during the Wild Card game.
  2. Interesting lineup.... Miggy is starting over Contreras for the 3rd time in 5 games.
  3. true, Raisin did it the right way, he should get to keep his thread. Mods please merge
  4. I know it was brought up in general baseball chat but i think its worth its own thread
  5. Reading the committed indian today and they seem to think the Hawks championship window is closed. Some of the reasons: -Keith is not the same player he was 2 years ago -Toews is a shell of his former self -Hossa looks done as a playoff contributor -Hjalmarsson has begun to decline You could always question the moving pieces that surrounded the sacred Blackhawks core but until now you couldn't question the core. Yes the Hawks have a lot of nice young pieces, but are any of them star quality? Do the Hawks need to condense the core and blow the rest of it up, take 2-3 seasons to rebuild and hope you open another window at the back end of Kane's prime? Most likely I am overreacting and besides the way Panarin's contract is structured and the age of Keith and Seabrook, it probably makes the most sense to milk everything that's left of them because they are hard contracts to move anyways. I know they led the west in points and its bad to draw conclusions from 3 games compared to the 82 preceding it, but even at their best this year the Hawks weren't the same type of puck possession team that was their trademark of the cup runs, and they have been destroyed by Nashville at puck possession.
  6. We could probably build a pretty good team for 2-3 years from now with a complete firesale
  7. Yeah when did the Hawks become the Wester Conference Capitals?
  8. Do we call the sub-500 version of the Cubs "the Cobs" as per tradition?
  9. If you're waiting for Almora to walk in a key situation you might be waiting for awhile
  10. Hah Pat and Ron kept talking all pregame how it was unlikely any balls would leave the yard. Lackey said hold my beer.
  11. Look who is back https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/854102261500444672 https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/854087830485839874
  12. That's 4 guys I can think of that have been on the bereavement list for the Cubs over the last season and change. Neil Ramirez, Hammel, Edwards and LaStella. That seems...higher than average.
  13. The illegal slide and blocking the plate replays are terrible because they will never be called consistently to everyone's satisfaction. If you don't call it live then it stands.
  14. Wait when does the Hawks series start?
  15. Hey now, my game threading was pretty solid last year.
  16. Josh harrison after the final out: We really should have hosted those guys for banner and ring night
  17. Last year the Cubs didn't lose their 5th game until Game 2 of the NLCS
  18. Theo is releasing CJ's family member as we speak
  19. Wind aided HR for a Cubs player means that a normal HR hits the video board. For the Pirates it means a flyout is nudged over the fence.
