  1. Well I dont think the trade was about what SF wanted. True, dumb comment. Just trying to digest all this.
  2. Is there any doubt that the 49ers wanted Thomas all along?
  3. ahhhh there it is:
  4. Read someone saying that this might actually be the worst case scenario for the Bulls long term -No draft lottery hopes -Winning first 2 games gives GarPax a belief they are headed in the right direction somehow -Rondo's contribution in winning 1st 2 games and his absence in the next 4 games, all losses (just assuming Friday is a loss) will make it much more likely that we retain him for next year -Wade has not really found a different level, still takes plenty of plays off and defense is optional. He filled up the stat sheet last night and was pretty good but for the series as a whole he looks like a shell of his former self. Most likely he will realize he will never get anything close to $22m on the open market next year and opt in.
  5. He seems entirely adequate out there Yeah, I mean, he's not going to catch anything especially difficult and he will look bad at times due to his build/lacking athleticism, but it's not like i cringe when the ball is hit to left. i expect him to catch what he should and surprise us with some that he shouldn't here and there. Is it really any worse that how Soler looked out there tracking fly balls? I'm actually asking because he seems like he has some issues making quick reads on some fly balls or misjudges how they bounce off the wall, but overall he seems pretty competent.
  6. For reference here is the all time regular season results for Cubs vs. Red Sox http://www.baseball-reference.com/play-index/head2head-games.cgi?team1=CHC&team2=BOS&from=1876&to=2017 Oddity that's mildly interesting at best: The Red Sox and Cubs have combined for 4 World Series titles since 1918, and in 3 of them they have played each other the following year (2005, 2014, 2017).
  7. The sanctity of the Game Thread starter order is gone apparently
  8. 3 straight double play grounders...eventually they were going to turn one
  9. Hope they don't fire David Ross, but I hear he can be quite a dick to his coworkers so it wouldn't surprise me.
  10. Jim Bowden is gone
  11. Jesus based on the layoffs announced so far, it looks like ESPN is stripping basically all their already meager hockey coverage except Barry Melrose (Scott Burnside, Pierre LeBrun, John Buccigross and Joe McDonald all let go so far). I understand why they do it but its crazy that a network advertised as the worldwide leader in sports can completely ignore one of the big 4 NA sports.
  12. lol only run of the game scores on an error and our closer gives up 3 rockets for outs. That is maximum trolling by the Cubs tonight.
  13. You might have to update the NBC Sports app to get it to work. If all else fails I believe you can stream at csnchicago.com. And of course like David said, you can't stream it if it's on WGN or ABC7
  14. Starting pitching...blah Cubs have allowed 13 runs in their last 7 1st innings (6 of the 7 games at least 1 run allowed)
  15. Remember last year when we were like "guys I know it's a small sample size but Heyward is 2 for his last 9 but he had 3 other hard hit outs. I think he's back"
  16. Win the World Series, fix Heyward and get back schwarber. Not bad
  17. Thom was quite excited about that win
  18. Not the best run through the rotation for Cubs. If I'm counting right that's 22 ER in 24 IP (midway through Lackeys start) during each starters last start. Will get better and the best part is that we are 3-1 so far in that stretch #wearegood
  19. It looks like Dodger Stadium, maybe the Adrian Gonzalez play at the plate he still was bitching about like last week? that was my first thought, but wasn't it still kind of light out when that happened? Wasn't there one spectacular play by Javy that they originally called safe and then reversed? Or was that the Giants series?
