  1. If I'm reading this right, it looks like the wind might be blowing out slightly to LF today.
  2. What did Rondo get this offseason? I'm guessing it's similar to that. 2/28, so give Rose $2m because he doesn't have a history of coaching hating him.
  3. Obviously he's not going to get anywhere close to the max. However I will be super interested to see what contract he gets. I would guess it would be a 'prove it' type of deal like 2 yr/$30m or something.
  4. Well apparently lackey really did just come for a ring and now that he's got it he's done
  5. At this point, why? The opportunity to get the 14th pick instead of the 15th pick is marginal. Everyone already knows how bad and depressing this team is, yet at the same time how safe GarPax and Fred are at least for this season, so missing the playoffs doesn't really change Reinsdorf's plans for the offseason. Those are really the 2 benefits to missing the playoffs right? (along with 'this team is so depressing i cant stand to watch them play basketball but since its the playoffs i'd have to watch). You pick 1-2 spots higher with a 1 in 100 shot at having a top 3 pick. I'd rather just watch a couple of playoff games with rooting interest even though we know they will be housed. Also, if the Bulls can lose to a Melo/KP/Rose-less Knicks team they can lose to a bunch of D-League guys with something to prove tonight. I think this Bulls team needs a major overhaul, including the front office. I think that's less likely to happen if they make the playoffs. It's admittedly probably unlikely in either case, to be fair, but I still think missing the playoffs provides the best opportunity for that. Yeah everything I've read suggests that there is no way GarPax or Fred is gone after this year. And like I said in my last post, making the playoffs is unlikely to change the perception of this team. Everyone knows the team sucks, lacks talent, fits together awkwardly and is depressing to watch and follow.

  7. Hasn't he been cutting them on and off over the last few years? I know with the Bears he cut them at least once.
  8. Here's a question I started pondering as I watched Willson gun down guys and play great defense last night. What happens if he gets hurt? As much as it's overblown, would a Lester-Montero tandem be disastrous or nah? Do we have a defensive-minded, good-armed catcher in the minors? Caratini has a solid arm right? Not that it would be easy to call him up for his debut and immediately make him Lester's personal catcher
  9. Well it was horsefeathering cold and the rain delay sucked (not that this was very possible but I wish somehow the renovations could have included widening the concourses, particularly the lower concourse) but well worth it for the ceremony and game.
  10. Yeah I think worst case we have a delay. Or maybe they hold the ceremonies during thunderstorms. How badass would it be if lightning struck the flag pole right after the banner was uncovered? Either way, my plan to park west of Damen, walk to the park, check out the park at Wrigley, have a beer and then head in is going to be a lot more miserable. Gonna have to buy a poncho at least. Does the Cubs store sell World Series Champions ponchos?
  11. Fantastic job making these blend in
  12. Exactly how I feel. And I'm pretty sure he could dial it up to 95 too if he wanted to, tbh. Did anyone hear him on Waddle and Silvy the other day? They asked about his velocity and gave him an out asking if he's holding something back after a long postseason last year etc and his answer was something like "I don't really care what I'm throwing as long as I'm getting people out"
  13. This is the kind of game that I'd sim to the end right about now if I was playing The Show.
  14. Hijacking this thread for a second..does anyone know what time the ceremonies start tomorrow? Should I get there extra early or will it only be a short 5-10 minute thing? I can't really find much online about what is planned.
  15. Thought the Illini would keep their class intact like 3 days ago and now it looks decimated.
  16. It says 2004 World Series right on the shirt Great game thread though
  17. Bah. Appreciate the baseball gods testing our patience after winning a title right off the bat, not going to work guys.
