You know what's less likely than convincing good players to come to Chicago and play with Jimmy? Becoming championship contenders by trading away one of the best players in the league in his prime for draft picks and being absolutely horrible for years. But everybody wants to do that like it's some magic pill. Working horsefeathering great in Minnesota and Philadelphia, tho! Hell, New Orleans drafted Anthony Davis, he has turned into a superstar, and they've tasted the playoffs once. With this new CBA I honestly think you are more likely to build a good team from tanking than you are getting a star to sign here. We couldn't get stars to come to Chicago even before the new CBA made it even more advantageous for stars to stay with their current teams. Chicago is just not that desirable of a FA destination. That said, both scenarios are sadly very unlikely. We've had this discussion too much. To some degree I respect your viewpoint but I don't agree.
