Yanks just DFA'd Andy Phillips. He played second base in the minors. He hit .292 last year, though. That's probably not bad enough for Hendry.

Talking about Moreno's comments about Mitchell report. Gammons says he's given up on guessing who the players are.

Shapiro says he likes the team's SP depth, might not trade any of them. Doesn't like FA, tries to avoid it. Happy with CC and Fausto. Happy he won't have to face Santana as often. Added that biggest things that could positively happen are own players improving.

Taking about Fuku now. Say Cubs are clear front runner and want him badly (we all know that). Latest they've heard is that he wants to come to the US, but other teams who don't want to overpay for Rowand or Jones may get in on him.

Talking about Marlins jerking everyone around. Apparantly, they asked the Angels if they if they would trade a certain package and the Angels said yes, thinking this was completeing the trade, but the Marlins went to other teams to compare the price and the Angels got ticked off.

Not surprisingly, the second thing they talk about is ARod. The deal is virtually done, everything is still being finalized.

So far, they just talked about Santana. Cashman just arrived and will talk to Bill Smith within the next hour or two. Teams might consider including a third team to get something done faster.

It's probably the same m.o. behind Haren being shopped. If we offer something impressive, he'll deal him. So...what would a fair deal for Swisher be? It seems we're shopping Prior. So...how about like Prior/Gallagher/Colvin for Swisher? Beane loves OBP, not something Colvin exactly excells at. Colvin's best comp is Mark Kotsay, right? If he becomes more patient, yes.
