  1. So what's Ascanio's upside? At least we got rid of Infante and Ohman's contracts.
  2. Probably would be cheap, but I doubt he adds much to what we already have.
  3. I doubt the Padres give up Headley for just Prior in return.
  4. I don't really want Damon. He might still have a few years left, but they won't be his better years. He's slowing down, and his arm wasn't even good in his prime.
  5. I like Dempster, but wouldn't mind dumping his salary.
  6. This time with the Yanks for Tyler Clippard: Yanks soured on Clippard fairly quickly.
  7. Wow, sooooooooooooooooo close.
  8. I just turned this game on before the TD. Wow, just wow. Bart Scott is an idiot.
  9. http://wintermeetings.mlblogs.com/nashvilleconfidential/2007/12/waiting_for_the.html Bout time! Didn't the mets already trade for a couple catchers why do they want another one? Minaya sees what the Hendry is doing with second basemen, and wants to do the same with catchers.
  10. It's not that bad. Cubs need: Starting SS Good backup catcher with clean bill of health (as an insurance policy for Soto) Jim Hendry "needs": Left-handed/switch hitters People who can run Replacements for our .791 OPS and .790 OPS cheap 2B and RF Lou Piniella "needs": RHSP so we wont have three lefties in our rotation Sounds about right
  11. 1. Babe Ruth 2. Ted Williams 3. Berry Bonds 4. Honus Wagner 5. Willie Mays 6. Hank Aaron
  12. So, the O's will do a Marlin and dump Tejada and his salary on whomever can get Bedard? If Tejada is being considered a payroll dump to the O's I'd hope Hendry is already on the phone. Bruce has said Tejada's contract is too big and the O's aren't willing to pick up a huge chunk of it.
  13. Since it hasn't happened yet: "gratuitous we once had Hamilton and gave him to the Reds" post
