  1. Bruce Miles said earlier in this thread that the Cubs aren't really interested In crisp and that they don't see him as an upgrade. I'd very much believe Miles over Levine. +1000000000
  2. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  3. I thought Hendry didn't want Crisp. I don't know one way or the other. The way he said it, it seemed like the Crisp part was a throw in comment; maybe his own guess or maybe he's right. He sounded more definitive about the teams involved. Could also just be spec. Who knows at this point...
  4. What if the rumors die down in Spring Training, but then heat up again at the trade deadline? Then we'll keep it going and shoot for 500 pages.
  5. I don't think so. Then he wouldn't have been telling us a trade would be done soon. We know how much Angelos loves Roberts.
  6. fixed Yeah. I was actually going to type that exact statement but changed it in fear that people would self-destruct at the realization that Roberts probably isn't coming. http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/thumb/b/b1/Exds.jpg/250px-Exds.jpg :this:
  7. Clemens is getting owned on national TV.
  8. Well since by rule the leadoff hitter has to be a SS, 2B or CF, look for Jones, ARod or Utley to leadoff.
  9. Leadoff has been dubbed a position, but it really isn't. You get someone at the top of the order who walks, makes contact, and works the count and you're good. It doesn't have to be a GRIT-ty who can swipe a bag or two. Scott Hatterberg and Kevin Youkilis have batted "leadoff" in the past, successfully.
  10. Beane likes to trade pitchers at their peak value. If he does this with Street, he's going to demand more than I'd be willing to give up. Bradley and Cabrera may be good options, but I want no part of GMJR or Durham.
  11. Freel will have the edge over Hopper because Freel can steal bases, which Dusty must have, and Dusty tends to make out lineups based on position. CF will be the leadoff spot and designated basestealer's position. Norris Hopper is a hands down better and smarter baserunner then Freel is. Freel is baseball [expletive]. But Freel has a friend inside his head.
  12. Barring a lot of contract extensions, the 2009 offseason looks like a promising one.
  13. "Daddy, I don't want to play baseball for you anymore. You make it no fun for me."
