  1. Yeah, I don't see him getting many at bats barring an injury, but he is a good player to have on the bench.
  2. never to wrigley? Nope, unfortunately not. I'll get there one day.
  3. I could live with trading Marquis, Veal and Colvin. Colvin is blocked by Pie, and I don't like the fact that he swings at everything. Veal had an off year this season. He's still a good prospect, but I like Gallagher more.
  4. Cubs X Mets X Yankees X Rays X Tigers X Blue Jays X Orioles X Phillies X I think that's it. All at Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, or the Vet.
  5. Nah, starting first baseman. I believe a starting first baseman is a starting corner infielder :D #-o I misread it as corner "outfielder".
  6. It would be awesome to have him at the end of a game, but is it necessary? And how much would we have to give up? I bet they'd want Marmol and others in return.
  7. A thread that became an arguement with Meph. What a surprise.
  8. WAIT! STOP THE PRESSES! Are you trying to tell me that a Roberts to Cubs deal is close?? Yep. There is a 50/50 chance that a Roberts deal might be done by this time next year. :D Though there's only a 10 percent chance of that happening. And a 70% chance of AM quitting before it can be completed.
  9. Daryle Ward Gotcha
  10. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-os0131,0,5335928.story Doubt Pie would be in a package for 4. Probably a Gally/Murton or Colvin/Epatt/Marquis or Dempster thing if he's got his facts straight. I'd bet its Gallagher, Murton, and Marquis. Or something like that. Hate to give up Murty and Gallagher, but if they take Marquis I'll live with it.
  11. He'd hit, but he'd be a butcher in the field and wouldn't be greeted warmly by fans.
  12. Baseball isn't a video game. Yes I know..But its funny how the orginization is trying to keep a straight face about the situation..Everyone knows they want him out..He serves no purpose here..Im sure the O's would take him if they threw him in instead one of our prospects or we can just dump his salary and trade him for sum prospects to a team desperate for pitching Do you really think the O's would allow us to swap Marquis for Gallagher in the proposed deal? That's insane. We're not the only ones who know Marquis sucks. Even a team that is desperate for starters and sees some value in Marquis would prefer Gallagher, IMO. I think he meant a lower prospect. The O's have expressed interest in Marquis, so they may take him in a trade in addition to Gallgher/ Marshall and whoever else is included
  13. Who's 32? Wasn't that Lieber's number in his previous stay with the team.
  14. Me too. A guy who's almost 50, and a team that loves old guys. It's a match made in heaven.
  15. good low risk pickup for them That's a great deal for them. If he starts to perform, he'll be great for them until they trade him.
  16. I thought he turned down a contract offer from them last week.
