  1. Don't forget Scott Downs, Sergio Mitre and Eric Patterson
  2. I just came here to post this. He's a character. Pretty cool to see him pitching again, and doing it well.
  3. I like Dunn more, but I would still be pleased with Butler.
  4. He's wild, so teams will take that into account. But they will also drool over his K/9 rate and how few hits he allows. And of course, saves. I think some team would offer a really good prospect and a mid level prospect.
  5. At this point, Nick Johnson would probably shatter next time he steps onto the field.
  6. Hey Rangers, Xavier Nady says hi. Would be nice to get something for him, even if it's an A ball reliever.
  7. I really like Dan Johnson's potential and wouldn't mind him on the team. However, I'd be kinda disappointed if he was our starting first baseman going into next season.
  8. The Twins' pen isn't half bad now. They've managed to get by without Nathan (though at the cost of their top prospect in the process), but I'm sure they can't wait to have him back next year.
  9. Doesn't make much sense. And the Giants now basically have the worst-fielding outfield in baseball.
  10. I thought this was an actual rumor
  11. And I love alliterations, but I digress: I'd assume Fukudome might be a little easier to move now, especially since he's had a hot streak going. We'd obviously still have to pick up a good portion of his salary.
  12. It doesn't. That's why it happened. I liked Fontenot as a reserve, but I'm not too upset that he's gone. It's fun to see the Cajun Connection now playing for rivals.
  13. Agreed. After these recent blowouts, I can't even say we're playing for pride anymore. Let's just get ready for next year/the future. But they're gonna be nice and give Piniella what he asked for (to leave on his own terms). Hendry's just a stand-up guy.
  14. I could definitely see a waiver deal for Nady or Baker. I wonder, though, what the plans are for DeWitt. If they see him as the second baseman of the future, they'll likely look to deal Fontenot. However, if they see DeWitt as more of a utility type 2B/3B backup, they may choose to keep Fontenot. Agreed. Was just hoping it would happen today. I definitely think we'll see at least one of our other guys moved before the waiver deadline.
  15. The Pirates made out well today. They dumped Dotel and dead weight (Crosby, Church) for a decent catcher in Snyder and a couple of talented prospects. The Twins may have had the worst trade with the Capps deal, but the Dodgers had a bad deadline in terms of what they gave up for what they got.
  16. I'll miss Bobby Howry for looking like he was gonna kill everyone for the whereabouts of John Connor. But I won't miss him for his pitching.
  17. Not a bad trade. Not an awful one. But I was hoping for a little more. I have basically the same sentiment with everyone here. Also, disappointed no one else was dealt. I thought for sure at least Nady and one of Fontenot/Baker would be gone.
  18. I know. Posey, Strasburg, Garcia and Heyward would all be shoe-ins any other year. It's like the Marino QB draft class. Aren't as many options in the AL. Jackson and Boesch are the only ones coming to mind.
  19. Merge if needed. Johnson is MUCH better than Theriot.
