  1. How does Jeff Francoeur continue to gain employment on a major league roster? Dayton Moore. And teams remembering him when he was an SI poster boy and forget he has zero plate discipline.
  2. We would not get the same quality of prospects back in Silva or Gorzellany trades. Gorzo wouldn't bring back much on his own, and Silva is still a fat pitcher who doesn't strike people out and had heart issues. Hendry should've sold high on him back in June.
  3. Wasn't sure of this was worth it's own thread, seeing as it's likely nothing serious
  4. SERIOUSLY with this? Could that be a dumber tweet? Jeebus Well, no one said White Sox fans were intelligent.
  5. That is pretty much insane. It's not like it's hard to hit in the AL East. No, but he goes from one of the best divisions to one of the least competitive. I'm not saying it's gonna make him a superstar, but a slight bump in numbers wouldn't surprise me.
  6. Not a bad option, but why? At least it's better that signing Kevin Milwood but I hope we don't have to give up any big pieces.
  7. Thank Jeebus. This was clearly the best option and I'm glad it's just a one-year deal. I would have preferred something closer to 7-8 mil, but 10 isn't too bad. A move out of the AL East and into Wrigley, and I think he posts an OPS in the .870-.900 range easily.
  8. Well, from the sound of it, he's biting his tongue at his press conference and is visibly unhappy with how everything went down.
  9. I don't see why people are pissed. He'll be good for 25 home runs and post about an .850 OPS. And he's not a terrible defender at first. I prefer Pena, but LaRoche is a decent option, too. He'll also likely be cheaper and it's not like he'd be getting more than one or two years.
  10. I'm getting the feeling that it doesn't matter at this point. The club has (stupidly) decided that Cashner can best serve the team next season strictly out of the pen.
  11. True, but you know that all we'll get is two mid-level prospects still in A ball.
  12. This makes no sense, especially if we're trying to be frugal.
  13. I'd love him back, especially because he'd strengthen the bullpen. That said, I wouldn't offer him more than 3 mil a season.
  14. Brewers shot this rumor down. That would have been a steal for the Dodgers, which is probably why it was just a rumor.
  15. Not really surprising. He seemed like the front runner.
  16. Gillick was definitely deserving, but so was Miller. He should've gotten in.
