  1. This is still happening. There isn't really any reason to rush an extension. They'll have plenty of time to get one done in ST/during the season.
  2. Convince the Dbacks that Stevens and Berg are potential closers
  3. Well, they're talking to Crawford and would have to move one of their outfielders. That said, Swisher is a huge fan favorite. Gardner would then probably be the odd man out. Fans love Gardner too. And I can't see them giving up on Granderson already. The smart move for them would be making Swisher the DH and having an OF of Gardner, Granderson and Crawford. But they're DHing Posada. They've got a good outfield without Crawford. I feel like they're just talking to him to drive up the price for Boston.
  4. I'll always like Lee, but he's past his prime. I'd prefer Pena on a one year deal.

  6. Andrew Miller might be worth a shot. He's still only 25 or 26, isn't he? And getting Martin would be great. It would be nice to have a backup catcher who isn't a total black hole on offense.
  7. Well this ruined my whole day. RIP Ronny. You will be missed.
  8. That's not news. Hendry's gonna strikeout again.
  9. It's the name. That's all it is. The same stupid reason Jeter thinks he's gonna get $23 mil a year.
  10. Yeah all those singles will come in handy with no one on base. And they'll be even better when he gets thrown out stealing with Pujols at the plate.
  11. I've always been a fan of O-Dog, but DeWitt has more upside and makes a lot less.
  12. I don't what's sadder, that the Dodgers gave $7 mil a year to a fat shortstop with a career .731 OPS or that he's actually an improvement over their middle infielders.
  13. I'd definitely take a shot. One year, incentive laden deal. If he comes close to returning to form, he's better than any other starter on the open market.
  14. No. Has no power and doesn't walk much. He's another Scott Podsednik.
  15. So glad Chilly is gone. If only they could have kicked Favre out the door with him.
  16. Votto crowned NL MVP
  17. That shoulda been done. Gotta take both or neither. Since they Yankees are all about respect and Hendry is respected by a lot of baseball people, I bet they would have considered it.
  18. If we're so intent on a starter, I wouldn't hate Vazquez on a one-year deal. Harang wouldn't be a bad buy low candidate, but I'd be worried about him being considered to contribute greatly. I want no part of Padilla.
  19. I actually really wanna hear his take on it, for the humor factor of course.
  20. You're right. He's no Rivera. He's better. In K/9, sure. Other than that, no. He's too wild and has an odd delivery. I'd hate to give him a four-year extension and then see him blow out his arm in two years.
  21. I can't believe King Felix actually won. This is fantastic. The only downside is getting into the inevitable argument with my Yankee-fan friends who have been saying for months Sabathia will be the hands down winner.
  22. So, how annoyed are we gonna be today? I bet they give it to Sabathia.
