  1. 12 runs over his last 1.1 innings. I feel for him.
  2. Cheaper and six years younger. I think he improves to a better version of Fontenot. Not a huge upgrade, though.
  3. Probably should be merged with Lilly trade thread. I'm getting kind of excited. I hope this isn't a letdown.
  4. Maybe, maybe not. Austin Kearns was removed from the game tonight right before he was traded to the Yankees.
  5. Ed Wade is as intelligent as a rotten melon. Astros fans have gotta be pissed. Within 48 hours they see two of their franchise's most beloved players shipped off for spare parts.
  6. Olney is reporting the Dodgers and Cubs are closing in on a Lilly deal.
  7. Now, not really. But DeWitt is younger with more potential to improve.
  8. Maybe Nady, though I don't know why they'd want the extra outfielder after getting Podsednik. I wish it were Theriot. Lilly and Theriot for DeWitt, Gordon and Ely wouldn't be a bad return at all.
  9. Just disgusting. I know the Twins have Mauer, but they shouldn't be trading Ramos for a relief pitcher.
  10. I've got friends in Philly who don't like this trade because Happ is an "up and coming youngster with a lot of talent." When I try to tell them he's 28 and has been very lucky, they pretend they don't hear me. One said he prefers a rotation of Halladay/Hamels/Blanton/Happ/Moyer to Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels/Blanton/Kendrick. My friends aren't smart.
  11. That's not a bad return, if true. Though I would hope for another player, too.
  12. Buying low on a reliever isn't a bad idea. But if he's overpriced and you're trying to make the playoffs, I'm not sure how good an idea it is.
  13. What did Hendry do to ruin Barrett's trade value? Barrett punched Z and then the Cubs traded him. I don't recall Hendry stressing the need to trade Barrett or anything. Plus, we got Kyler Burke for Barrett, not a bad haul considering he had a .734 OPS for us when we traded him. True. But it is a case of Hendry selling low. I mean, it's not like every player in a dugout/clubhouse scuffle got traded right after. Not complaining about that one, though. As you pointed out we got a nice return. The other trades, on the other hand...
  14. I have a bad feeling that Hendry will deal Fontenot for a PTBNL instead of Theriot.
  15. It's nice to see a no-no for the Rays after they had a couple thrown against them.
  16. I knew they were bad, but jesus. That's awful.
