    Just disgusting. I know the Twins have Mauer, but they shouldn't be trading Ramos for a relief pitcher.

    I've got friends in Philly who don't like this trade because Happ is an "up and coming youngster with a lot of talent." When I try to tell them he's 28 and has been very lucky, they pretend they don't hear me. One said he prefers a rotation of Halladay/Hamels/Blanton/Happ/Moyer to Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels/Blanton/Kendrick. My friends aren't smart.

    That's not a bad return, if true. Though I would hope for another player, too.

    Buying low on a reliever isn't a bad idea. But if he's overpriced and you're trying to make the playoffs, I'm not sure how good an idea it is.

    What did Hendry do to ruin Barrett's trade value? Barrett punched Z and then the Cubs traded him. I don't recall Hendry stressing the need to trade Barrett or anything. Plus, we got Kyler Burke for Barrett, not a bad haul considering he had a .734 OPS for us when we traded him. True. But it is a case of Hendry selling low. I mean, it's not like every player in a dugout/clubhouse scuffle got traded right after. Not complaining about that one, though. As you pointed out we got a nice return. The other trades, on the other hand...
