  1. I'm liking Quade more and more each day. And kudos to Hendry for those comments, as well.
  2. That sounds good enough for me. We need a guy who can make good things happen just be being in attendance. Seriously, he never projected as more than a backup infielder and we're better off with a Baker/DeWitt platoon, no matter what the spring stats say.
  3. Rosenthal, confirming the last part is a possibility:
  4. I wouldn't say Sherman's unreliable. He's usually right on things and has broken plenty stories before, especially ones on other teams and not just the Yankees.
  5. Millwood signed to minor league deal heavy on incentives. He can opt out if he's not on the big league roster by May 1. And Mitre was traded to the Brewers for Chris Dickerson. Not a bad return for the Yanks, who could use the outfield depth and had no need for Mitre anymore.
  6. It's a minor league deal. He's not expected to break camp with the team and will likely begin the season in AAA.
  7. Even with their surplus, the Rangers wouldn't just give Davis away, especially now that he's crushing the ball. Wouldn't hurt to inquire, but I'm not for giving up much for a bench player.
  8. Yikes. And I actually had them as the favorite in the division. Looks like the playing field is evening out.
  9. Luis Castillo was released today. Think the Cubs take a chance?
  10. He'd kind of like Joel Sherman of the NY Post. He technically covers the local team but does national stuff too.
  11. You're the only one on NSBB that would hold out for an "intriguing" prospect for Silva. Most of us would be happy if we don't have to send the other team an "intriguing" prospect to take Silva. :yahoo: I was referring to what we got back for Gorzelanny and that it's not too farfetched that they might send an "intriguing" prospect back. I'd trade him for a broken bat or used jock strap.
  12. If the Nationals wanna keep dealing us intriguing prospects for our overstock, that's fine. I know the Yankees still aren't too sure about the back of their rotation, but I don't know that they'd think Silva is an upgrade over Freddy Garcia and Sergio Mitre.
  13. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe said today if the Rangers eat some salary a deal to the Cubs could happen. I don't know if this is just speculation or there's more to it.
  14. Yeah, I'm not bothered by it. We don't need him to steal bases anyway. We need him to hit the ball again and not get hurt while hopping to catch a fly ball.
  15. I really don't give a crap how he acts on the mound. He can throw all the hissy fits he wants if he pitches like he did in the second half.
  16. Must be a Texas thing. Hopefully they aren't too attached during games. Kerry should be watching from the bullpen, while Cashner watches from the dugout 4 out of 5 games. Agreed. But I definitely don't mind Wood being a positive influence on Cashner.
  17. If Fukudome doesn't have a terrible season, I definitely wouldn't mind having him back. That said, I wouldn't give a three-year deal to a platoon/back up outfielder. One or two years at 4-5 mil per doesn't seem too unreasonable. But I guess we have to see how this season goes. If Colvin tanks and Brett Jackson hits a speed bump in his development, it could be a worthwhile signing.
  18. Utterly fantastic. Way to start the year off on a strong note, Miggy.
  19. That's not a sight I thought I'd see again.
  20. Yeah, he really does love backloading contracts. But in this case, I don't mind, mostly because of all the other money coming off the books.
