  1. yeah they were planning on continuing their big spending ways by going all in on mccann, but then they were like "nope, we got something here with castillo." zero credit to the front office for castillo. come on.
  2. MAJOR EYE ROLL what a horrible person. i also like how he imagines there some HUGE contingent of matt sczcur fanboys out there and IN THEIR STUPID FACES CUZ THAT GUY SUCKS.
  3. you're a joke, matt Williams.
  4. weird I never heard any "KEEP IT ON TOPIC GUYS" posts when people were posting fantasy 2019 major league lineups with all the cubs super prospects in the minor league forum.
  5. for what it's worth, a top FA, samardzija and wood is not a bad start to a rotation. however, 2 of those 3 pieces are pretty long shots at this point.
  6. whoa, that proposed rotation was supposed to make us feel better?
  7. our #2 bright spot is a guy with a 6.38 ERA...kill me now but the peripherals are good. feel better?
  8. The point isn't that he was right to say that; it's that he now plays for a team that also has no chance of winning big. If he really was so gung ho about winning he would have taken less to go to a legit contender, or even stay with Texas. the team he's on now has the best record in baseball yeah. that's probably not gonna last. yeah, joke will be on him when the brewers finish way ahead of the cubs in the standings instead of way, way ahead of the cubs in the standings.

  10. whew, cubs are still on track to be good in three years.
  11. lol, who is he going to sit down and work things out with? the essence of cubdom? nobody who he potentially offended is even there now...so stupid.
  12. yeah, if you just eliminate his one good week out of the 3 1/2 weeks of the season, he's a real piece of [expletive].
  13. I'm just glad I stimulated some good conversation.
  14. just tryin' to contribute. seems like a few people really found my post to be insightful, sooooooo I think you're outvoted.
  15. yeah, I don't think sosa has to apologize to blake parker for that time he left a game early in 2004.
  16. it's a good thing the cubs aren't one million percent counting on these 20 year olds that have never done anything beyond AA to completely account for any success the team has in the next 10 years.
  17. he didn't talk [expletive] until [expletive] was talked to him. his bat flip and posing counts as talking [expletive]. again, no problem with his posing and bat flipping. no problem with cole calling him on it. and if you think cole's comments to him were about baseball's unwritten rules and and NOT "hey nice bat flip on a triple, jackass," I don't know what to tell you.
  18. It wasn't until the third man in from Pittsburgh upped the ante that a brawl started. gomez comes off the base at cole as soon as cole says something and starts to walk away. if gomez stays on the base, the benches don't empty. gomez is the reason the benches emptied.
  19. so gomez gets to talk [expletive], but cole doesn't. got it.
  20. well he did react like a psychopath, start a bench clearing brawl and get himself ejected... again, fine with him flipping the bat and posing. also fine with cole being like "nice bat flip idiot." gomez can't do that stuff on a non-homerun and expect to catch zero [expletive] for it.
  21. He has a tendency to admire his home runs, and I get why Cole was a little peeved, but Cole could've just ignored it and been happy with the fact Gomez looked stupid admiring a ball in play. Had Gomez been hustling out of the gate it would've been an inside-the-parker instead of a triple. Gomez wouldn't have gone crazy if Cole didn't nag him into it Reference for those wondering: http://m.mlb.com/video/v32232541/milpit-benches-clear-after-gomez-triples-in-the-3rd/?query=carlos+gomez Finally watched this; that was great. [expletive] Cole. [expletive] gomez. he gets to do bat flips and pose for his non-homerun, but cole can't give him [expletive] about it when the ball doesn't leave the park? this isn't one of those "HEY THAT FIERY LATINO NEEDS TO CONTROL HIS EMOTIONS AND PLAY THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY" arguments. i'm fine with gomez bat flipping and posing, but i'm also fine with cole telling him he's a [expletive] clown for admiring his triple.
  22. If you set the roster up the right way, I wouldn't hate having Vitters up and getting 30 starts a year against lefties at 1b. oh no the abuse he's taking isn't getting him hard enough...he's brought vitters into the conversation...
  23. And failing pretty badly. As usual, I'm winning. if by winning you mean "everyone's making fun of me but at least I feel SOMETHING," then yeah, big winner.
