  1. step 1: watch your favorite major league team finish in last again but pretend it doesn't matter step 2: make lame ass chuck norris style quips about javier baez, gifs about albert almora going 2-4 or some dumb [expletive], jokes about how stupid the GM of the best team in the NL is. step 3: drink alone
  2. says the guy who started the "WTF are the dodgers doing" thread the offseason before they won the NL west. NAILED IT yeah that brandon league contract (which i'm pretty sure was the reason for that thread) was totally awesome yeah he's been so terrible this year.
  3. Congrats to them on being able to have a 90 win team (and a 2 game lead) on a $230M payroll, I guess fortunately for them, playoff berths aren't handed out on a win per $ basis.
  4. says the guy who started the "WTF are the dodgers doing" thread the offseason before they won the NL west. NAILED IT
  5. my most sincere apologies. i'll post any other such thoughts in the "WTF are the dodgers doing thread."
  6. sorry, people mocking their GM isn't technically laughing at the actual LLC or whatever the exact corporate entity that is the los angeles dodgers.
  7. their very real, current, present 90 wins seasons/division titles/playoff appearances are going to be NOTHING compared to the hypothetical, dependent on current minor leaguers, future 90 wins seasons/division titles/playoff appearances of our cubs.
  8. i love threads where we get to laugh at the best-record-in-the-NL-having dodgers. i mean, what a bunch of dum dums!
  9. but hey, whatever makes you feel like the superior/more knowledgable fan.
  10. I would argue that people that DO follow the minors closely are the ones more likely to understand the percentage of flameouts (take a look at law's lol top 20 from a couple yrs ago posted elsewhere). the people that are like "the infield is going to combine for 120 homers next year" are the ones that don't seem to follow prospects that closely.
  11. he had been in your minors illegally for several weeks. nobody's expecting you to check your roster for these types of things every hour, but I don't think doing so on a weekly (or so) basis is asking too much. I was nice enough to let you keep ozuna without penalty after you had him illegally stashed in your minors for three months despite it being brought to your attention multiple times that he was not eligible, so I don't think it's overly harsh for me to drop de la rosa.
  12. can't be any more damaging to your career than an era of 5.00 at age 30.
  13. Yes. But I get the sense half of you wouldn't trade the Astros for the Angels right now. I honestly don't think you would. Even if PTR is broke and they [expletive] up the future TV rights, there's enough young talent already here to go on a Tampa type run, never breaking 100 mill in payroll. that's what we're hoping/shooting for?
  14. i need some evidence one way or the other indicating wood was not scheduled to pitch. I own him in a yahoo league and he was shown as the sunday starter by saturday at the latest.
  15. yeah lol at the 20 games over .500 angels. bunch of idiots. if only they had their [expletive] together like the perennially last place cubs.
  16. 3 starts
  17. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
  18. i mean, yeah, the collection of minor league talent they have is unprecedented, I suppose. but so is a huge market team literally tanking like four seasons in a row. it just makes it a little harder for me to get super duper excited about every minor league box score. granted, it's all we have at this point...
  19. oh no this mendy thing is catching on
  20. I highly doubt it. What the Cubs are doing is very rare for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is deliberately holding guys down and therefore not graduating them from prospect status. who have they really held down? Bryant? i mean, yeah, he's destroying every level, but he hasn't even been in professional baseball for a year. mainly it's the combination of a smart front office having extremely high draft picks and devoting a huge percentage of assets (and money if you go back to soler) to the minors. and some luck with who has been available to them. but mostly the intentional losing.
  21. ugh i hope the cubs are good soon. this is embarrassing.
  22. But people are saying that Soler fell because of injuries therefore Buxton has to fall because of injuries. It's a huge leap. Not really, if you believe wrist injuries are far more concerning to a hitters' long term success than broken shins and hamstring sprains. I wouldn't even drop Buxton lower than, say, 3 (behind Correa and Bryant). So you are whining about a lack of falling by 2 spots? welcome to the minor league forum.
  23. i mean for crying out loud, how long do i have to wait before someone posts the cubs info from BA's top 50?
