I heard that comment too and was about to steer my car into a light post if not for the fresh pizza sitting on my passenger seat. If you want to say they are 2-3 years from reaching the peak of their collective performance, I suppose that argument could be made, but 3 years away from even being a playoff competitor is ridiculous. the royals nearly won the World Series with james shields, three good relievers and a bunch of turds for crying out loud.

oklahoma's no joke either. can't believe iowa st bball is to the point where they lose TWO first team all conference players and i still think they are better this year. also can't believe that they had TWO first team all conference players...

Oklahoma St. is not good. They struggled against a bad Texas Tech team, struggled against a worse ISU, and barely beat an even worse KU team. I know they played FSU close in the first game of the season, but their backup QB is now the full time QB, and they're about to start playing real teams now. I wouldn't be surprised if they closed the season 1-5, with their only win coming at home vs WVU. yeah, you can put okie st there for now if you want I guess, but there's no way they're anywhere close to that by the end of the season. wasn't impressed by them at all.

previous "record" was $10k for mike leach in 2007. yeah, i'd say alleging the conference is scheming to specifically screw your team over is probably gonna get you the biggest fine in the history of the conference....

lol, iowa st AD fined a whopping $25k (big 12 record) for postgame presser where he indicated his frustration with iowa st consistently getting screwed.

congrats on meeting the bare minimum standard and not forcing me to remove a guy from your roster. I'm just glad you're the one that did it and not someone you were facing, sparing me from reading 26 pms from you asking that his entire season's worth of points be removed.

the "rule" was created a) to prevent non playoff teams from interfering with the playoffs by picking up guys the playoff teams might want to use and b) to prevent the playoff teams from gaining an advantage by allowing them to nab some out of nowhere keeper that non playoff teams wouldn't have access to. it was NOT created to give playoff teams a 50 man playoff roster. I guess you can have the guys back that you stupidly dropped after the playoffs are over, but don't come crying to me if someone claims them on waivers and keeps them for their own playoff run. this "rule" will be changed next yr.

so the playoffs should just be a frenzy of ramificationless adds/drops? how would you like it if, on Sunday, you and I had a close matchup and I saw that freeman was getting the day off so I dropped him (knowing I would get him back). then I lost but your next opponent picked up freeman (hey no skin off my back, I get him back for some stupid reason) and then freeman scores 40 pts against you in the semis?
