    The point isn't that he was right to say that; it's that he now plays for a team that also has no chance of winning big. If he really was so gung ho about winning he would have taken less to go to a legit contender, or even stay with Texas. the team he's on now has the best record in baseball

    it's a good thing the cubs aren't one million percent counting on these 20 year olds that have never done anything beyond AA to completely account for any success the team has in the next 10 years.

    he didn't talk [expletive] until [expletive] was talked to him. his bat flip and posing counts as talking [expletive]. again, no problem with his posing and bat flipping. no problem with cole calling him on it. and if you think cole's comments to him were about baseball's unwritten rules and and NOT "hey nice bat flip on a triple, jackass," I don't know what to tell you.

    It wasn't until the third man in from Pittsburgh upped the ante that a brawl started. gomez comes off the base at cole as soon as cole says something and starts to walk away. if gomez stays on the base, the benches don't empty. gomez is the reason the benches emptied.

    well he did react like a psychopath, start a bench clearing brawl and get himself ejected... again, fine with him flipping the bat and posing. also fine with cole being like "nice bat flip idiot." gomez can't do that stuff on a non-homerun and expect to catch zero [expletive] for it.

    He has a tendency to admire his home runs, and I get why Cole was a little peeved, but Cole could've just ignored it and been happy with the fact Gomez looked stupid admiring a ball in play. Had Gomez been hustling out of the gate it would've been an inside-the-parker instead of a triple. [expletive] gomez. he gets to do bat flips and pose for his non-homerun, but cole can't give him [expletive] about it when the ball doesn't leave the park? this isn't one of those "HEY THAT FIERY LATINO NEEDS TO CONTROL HIS EMOTIONS AND PLAY THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY" arguments. i'm fine with gomez bat flipping and posing, but i'm also fine with cole telling him he's a [expletive] clown for admiring his triple.

    If you set the roster up the right way, I wouldn't hate having Vitters up and getting 30 starts a year against lefties at 1b. oh no the abuse he's taking isn't getting him hard enough...he's brought vitters into the conversation...

    If you stick to platooning him, you can squeeze some value out of him. If your roster is set up to platoon 3b, he's a good option for the short end of it. oh sorry I only intended to insult you, not engage in a conversation with you. I apologize for the confusion.

    jeremy hollowell visiting iowa st this weekend. ryan anderson visiting in may. it's been quite the free agent season for iowa st. a transfer that sat out last year from niu got a DUI saturday night. less than 18 hours later they had a commitment from bryce dejean jones (unlv) who was visiting that weekend and apparently hanging out with the guy who got the DUI. couple hours later they got a 2015 JC commit who is sitting out next season to get BOTH shoulders operated on (???), meaning he'll have 3 yrs at iowa st.
