he's being mentioned as a candidate for the coaching job. can't say i'm on board with that. Not sure I am either, but you might want to get used to the idea... Hoiberg Next ISU Head Coach He's not called "The Mayor" for nothing so he should excite the fanbase, but the lack of coaching experience isn't good, and it's gonna suck if it doesn't work out. It's like the B.J. Armstrong to Iowa stuff but worse. At least B.J. is in with WW Wes. There's upside but there's also high potential for a total bust. And that results in you complaining about one of your favorite players of all-time and wanting him fired because he's a failure. eh, it's not like he's been out of basketball bagging groceries or something. i don't know how i feel about it, but it's not like they passed on a homerun guy like tom izzo or something. i mean, who were they going to get? the illinois state coach? meh. the important thing is, their best recruiter is staying on.

i don't see where it says you can (and none of the stuff you highlighted has anything to do with picking up free agents). and rosters need to be set on monday. so unless there's some exception that says you can pick up FA pitchers mid-week, it's pretty clear you cannot. i can't believe we're debating this for the 943rd time.

unless there's a reason why you didn't add this guy on monday (ie you didn't find out one of your starters was going to miss a start due to injury until tuesday), then it's just simply that you didn't get around to doing it until tuesday. tough [expletive]. add guys on monday if you want them for the week.

that's different than picking up a free agent. that obviously refers to moving a guy from your starting lineup to bench and vice versa. seriously, we go over the same [expletive] like six times a year. you can't pick up free agents mid-week unless there's a trade, injury, etc. am i the only one who can remember this stuff?

no, you can't. if one of your guys gets injured, then yes. otherwise, no. why would that be allowed? rosters must be set by monday. it's been this way for a hundred years (rounded to the nearest hundred).

It has a lot more potential than Creighton. ISU fans are pretty devoted. And it wasn't too long ago that Tim Floyd made them a player in the Big 12. clearly, isu is a step above creighton. there were in the elite eight within the past ten years. he's being mentioned as a candidate for the coaching job. can't say i'm on board with that.

What the hell if Lebron's endgame from this? Trying to get more young ballers to join his brand? Or is it he trying to become the NBA's biggest douche? He and Cal are both buddies with World Wide Wes. Nothing more than that. I thought LeBron was going to tOSU though? Hasn't he said that many times? He such a dbag at this point. He's only said OSU since he has been in the Pro's a couple years. Everyone assumed Akron but who knows. I still hold an irrational belief he would have chosen Purdue because he showed up to his first NBA game where a Bob Griese Purdue throwback jersey and when asked said he always like Purdue. I can dream. that's a weird dream. man, i wish this guy who had no intention at all of playing college basketball would have chosen my team had he not had no intention at all of playing college basketball. that would be SO awesome.

i want to know where the notion that hill was a good defensive catcher came from. back in high school, there was a kid on our basketball team that was a horrible shooter/offensive player. so he was deemed our defensive stopper even though his defense was no better than anyone else's. i think that's the situation with hill.

if there's anyone you can count on to calmly enter a 2-2 game in the 8th inning and not walk the first two guys he faces, it's most definitely zambrano.

Very helpful, and it shows me that Raw has a good chance of going over starts this week unless he starts benching pitchers. :) you shouldn't bring this up until the week is over. Why, what's the harm in saying that he has a good chance of going over? what's the benefit? what if his 8th start is -20? this about happened to me last week. had HBC not hit two late sunday hr's, i would have won with carpenter's negative start counting. but since i brought it up, i'm sure chuck would have noticed, gotten that 8th start taken away and actually added to his score in doing so.

i've never had a problem counting to seven, so i haven't really noticed it.

I disagree. A system that picks and chooses how to apply rules based on the amount of points each team has is way more ridiculous than applying the rules the same for everyone. it's not a system that picks and chooses based on the points of each team. the system i guess we have in place now rewarded him for breaking the rules. plain and simple. it has nothing to do with how many points either of us had.

The fact that there is a past thread addressing this negates what you are saying 100%. oh, was chuck relying on that old thread when he accidentally used 8 starts? i guess i should have told chuck he was over his starts (as is my duty) the day before. i'll try and babysit my next opponent more carefully.
