  1. i somehow won despite hitting ZERO homeruns for the week. over 200 plate appearances and NO homeruns. that is amazing.
  2. his points should be taken away and it should not count as a start.
  3. second most points in the entire league and i'm tied for next to last in my division and 2 games out of a playoff spot. sweet.
  4. looks like i drafted him in the 9th round.
  5. i picked up ogando before he was good, so i think i get extra credit for that.
  6. every team has 7 games this week, so there should be a lot of scoring. great start to my week, as sizemore is off to the DL, chipper may need surgery and wright has a broken back. broken backs aren't really a big deal, right?
  7. oh his name is league.
  8. i can't tell who is building for the future and who is building for now...i'm assuming the team that gave up miggy is looking to the future?
  9. don't know what to make of that trade...
  10. i've always thought this was allowed. what i don't like is just picking up starters mid-week to get your 7 starts when there are no injuries and no one is being pushed back or whatever. Ahh. I don't think you were making that very clear when you were arguing against adding pitchers to get 7 starts. I can agree with you that you shouldn't be able to add a pitcher midweek if your roster already has the ability to field 7 or more starts. And my argument for may not have been clear, either, but I'm in support of a team being able to field 7 starts for the week, even if it requires that they pick someone up midweek in order to get a 7th start. It's possible that a start that gets cancelled on a Sunday might force someone to not get their 7th start in for the week, but that's part of gambling on a Sunday start happening. Especially if you benched an earlier start in the week knowing you would use a Sunday start. Is my move ok since I brought someone up from my minor leagues? if someone got pushed back or scratched, i don't see it as a problem.

  12. agreed! everyone post how many championships they've won...i'll go first. THREE
  13. i don't think you got horribly ripped off in the trade (though i have no idea how you can trade tim the best player in the league w/o getting pineda back). i'm more surprised/disappointed that you bailed on the season on may 5.
  14. hey, you were competing this year before you gave up.
  15. as much as i'd like to be the lucky 100th person you've ripped off in a trade, i'll have to decline. colon's last start was pretty bad.
  16. ps all my prospects are available for trade.
  17. except that's real baseball and we're playing fantasy baseball. trading off your fantasy team on may 1st so you can maybe do well in 4 years with the prospects you've traded for is [expletive] boring.
  18. sshhh...stop telling people it's a waste of top to build good farm systems. half the league competing to amass the most BA top 100 prospects is how i make the playoffs every year.
  19. you'll be eating your words in 2015!
  20. chuck hasn't managed his team in weeks. well, i got fucked this week. lost by 11 and got screwed out of a start. young got scratched on saturday, so i moved ogando into my lineup for sunday and then he gets scratched.
  21. Well, since you were trying to work a trade with him, it's kind of duplicitous for you to be criticizing making a trade at this point. As for the prospects I got back, Bob would have had to drop them because of roster space anyway, so they just came back to me as filler, essentially. I'll most likely end up dropping them in the future. High ceiling guys, but both have numbers that tell you they're not likely to make it. Miller may be 20 and in A ball, but he's got crazy good stuff and incredible results to match so far. He'll be in AA to end the year. I may get the 1st round pick back, but that doesn't make it meaningless for truffle. He now has two first round picks, a decent exempt pitcher and two of the current top 10-15 prospects in the game. You are full of criticisms - why don't you let us all know what your offer was so that we can judge if yours was "fair"? not really any of your business. and he approached me about the trade/made the offer, not the other way around. i never made an offer...he made me an offer, i said yes, he said he'd get back to me, then he traded with you. guess you should have made a better offer, then. I DIDN'T MAKE AN OFFER. he did. i said yes. then he traded with you. which he is certainly entitled to do. what was my response to his offer supposed to be? "no, i reject your offer, i will give you more than that."

  23. i don't value matusz that much and shelby miller is 20 y/o pitching in A ball. to each his own, but i would never make that trade. not to mention the fact that it's week 5 and bob is what, 1 game out of a playoff spot? i don't really know what his goal is at this point.
  24. my favorite part is tim getting two prospects back. i mean, you have to make it fair for tim...lol. as far as the 1st round pick...it's basically meaningless. i don't know if you guys have noticed, but tim trades players he's not going to keep for 1st round picks every year...he'll obviously get that pick back by trading halladay this winter.
  25. interested to hear what the rest of the league has to say about that trade.
