  1. why is kansas bothering to run the ball?
  2. and i thought no one gave a [expletive] about iowa state. holy cross updates?
  3. hmm...who to keep between wright, rollins and hamels? if anybody is interested in any of those guys, let me know. if i would have won the championship this year, i would have to think i would have been the first to win the league without a single top 30 SP. that's pretty odd.
  4. yeah, that week was a huge cluster [expletive]. i think hill had a one hit shutout through four or five and lou took him out...
  5. that's what happened with brett anderson for me. bailey finished the season with nine straights starts of 3 er or less. 53 k's in 58 1/3 ip. not to shab. hell of a lot better than keeping pelfrey.
  6. i have a lot of exempt pitching that i'd like to trade for exempt offense. hanson danks bailey (how was he available as a FA, by the way?) wells sheets
  7. didn't he get your first round pick in the deal too?
  8. I'm pretty sure I finished with more points, too. we will forever remember both of you as the greatest ever 3rd and 4th place teams this league has ever seen. i'll have some trophies engraved tomorrow. Good god you've become a smart ass the past few years. I remember enjoying talking with you in the past, but I can't recall the last time that was. what do you want me to say? hey, you guys are right. i had no business being in the championship what with your team so clearly better than mine. i apologize for presenting such a clearly inferior team. for my team to be mentioned in the same breath as yours is truly an honor. i mean, shit, give me a break.
  9. ok. of course, had this week not counted, you would have lost by more. no, i still want to make the championship two weeks, i just don't want the last week to count.

  11. double ouch. 1-21 from my hitters today with 3 gidp. that also stings. somebody bloop a couple doubles or something and i win...cripes.
  12. i don't know if i want to do this next year if we count the last week. i lost by six points (??) and i had three of my best hitters not play today and another two play 1/2 a game. and one of my starters threw 3 innings yesterday. this shit is too time-consuming to come down to a week of spring training games. ouch. starts of -1, -2, -6 and 2 in my lineup. starts of 19.5, 15.5, 33.5 and 27 on my bench this week alone. that stings.
  13. quit your bitching. i throttled your ass fair and square by like a million points to get to the championship.
  14. notre dame sucks. pipe down.
  15. who cares about a "balanced" schedule? i like the two week finale, but this week shouldn't be a part of it. mccann, choo and rollins all sitting out today, the last day of the championship matchup. that's ONE THIRD of my offense.
  16. I really have no idea how Arnaud regressed as much as he has from last year to this one. If he plays like he's capable of playing today they probably win and are 50-50 to go bowling. Now they're pretty much done. In other news, the stat lines in the Houston-UTEP game are insane. Keenum went 51/76 for 536 with a 5/0 ratio and lost by 17. Donald Buckram (great name for a RB) had 32 carries for 262 and 4 TDs for UTEP. This may be mostly a gut feeling (or wishful thinking to improve Iowa's SOS) but I think Iowa State is getting to 6 wins. I think they beat Baylor and Colorado then they upset Texas A&M or Oklahoma State (I know beating one of those two teams may be a stretch. But I'm not impressed with Oklahoma State and it's at home and A&M just isn't that good). I'm not sure if 6 wins puts them in a bowl but I could see them being eligible for one. i wish i could get on board with this, but isu had so little margin for error and they already effed it up. they almost HAD to beat k-state if they wanted to get to six. they had four winnable games on their schedule...now they have to beat colorado AND baylor AND a&m. they could afford a slip up in one of the four winnable games, but it really hurts for it to come in the first of the four. now they have to play very well in their next three winnable games, and that's going to be hard to do. seriously, losing a game on a blocked PAT. only iowa state. probably win that game if robinson doesn't get hurt...
  17. my LVP for this week would be cole hamels and his two starts totaling ZERO points. so glad i treated peavy for him and david wright, the vance law of his era.
  18. wow, luckiest team ever. can't wait to see what they pull out to win the insight.com bowl.
  19. this week alone i've got starts of 33.5, 27 and 19.5 on the bench...meanwhile starts of 2, -2, -6, in my lineup. hamels out after three [expletive] innings. i am BEGGING you guys, take this last effing week out of the equation. i don't care if it means an unbalanced schedule or whatever, but you cannot make the most important fantasy week of the year the least important week of the year for 95% of teams. it's absurd.
  20. i need detroit to clinch today so they throw out the B team tomorrow against danks...
  21. wow, [expletive] YOU, cole hamels.
  22. i think i'm up by 2 or 3. i have three starts left to kevin's one. of course if i knew how to pick my starters, i'd be up by a gazillion... the 9th inning of the sea/tex game last night may end up being the difference...2/3 ip, 3 er (-10.5) for aardsma translated to a save from francisco (8.5). that's almost a 20 point swing in the span of one inning.
  23. calm down, wolverine, i'm sure you've played organized sports before.
  24. circling the drain at this point...garland really fucked me.
