  1. lincecum and rivera have scored FORTY [expletive] PERCENT of nccub's points. unreal.
  2. too bad for mike anderson. he probably would have had some interest in the purdue job.
  3. what's the deal with guys like peavy who are likely to begin the season on the DL? to get my roster legal by opening day, i'll have to do something with him. can i put him on the DL now?
  4. i can draft the twins japanese 2b, right? and keep him in the minors until he reaches the ab limit, right? if so, i take him.
  5. 1. NSBB from Bazingas - Harper, Bryce 2. Alamo Stealth from NC Cubs - Taillon, Jameson 3. Quakers - Machado, Manny 4. Sock It Thome - Christian Colon 5. SABR - Randall Delgado 6. Eyes Of Texas - Drew Pomeranz 7. Mighty D-Block- Nick Franklin 8. Habitual Linesteppers - Jean Segura 9. Tootielicious - Gary Sanchez 10. Harry's Budcrew - Jake Odorizzi 11. Fuzzy Logistics - Trey McNutt 12. Kid Rodelo - Manuel Banuelos 13. Galesburg Hand Sanitizers - Chris Archer 14. Ron Washington's Dealers 15. Alamo Stealth 16. NSBB
  6. Are we talking Rey Ordonez or Rey Sanchez? Pretty sure that was Ordonez's nickname. Yep. No "o," no "d." i get it.
  7. let's enforce the 24 hour rule and get this [expletive] going.
  8. during a normal week a major league team plays 6 (occasionally 7) games per week. and we get 7 starts during those weeks. looks to me like most major league teams will play 7 games during the extended week 1. i think 8 starts seems about right.
  9. 9 is a lot. i vote for 8.
  10. Some other team might be willing to see if he reaches his potential, while the Cubs have plenty of young pitchers with more potential and smaller contracts. every team has those. such a big deal is made about his NTC, but nobody wants to trade for him and his contract. NOBODY. he has zero trade value.
  11. you realize other teams know about his contract, right?
  12. can't complain about all the exciting finishes, but man, there have been some dumb plays/bad officiating this tourney. texas would have never been in the position to get called for 5 seconds if that guy doesn't call a pointless timeout with 12 seconds left up 2 and no one really around him.
  13. so it looks like the season starts on 3/31, which is a thursday. and then a bunch more games the rest of the weekend. is week 1 going to be a big long super week?
  14. i'll be at fitch/hohokam most of the morning/afternoon tomorrow. so unless my turn comes up before i leave in the morning, i probably won't make my pick (i think i'm the 14th pick) until i get back to the hotel at 5 pm or so AZ time.
  15. watched like 8 seconds of that and i already hate him.
  16. and by the way, i didn't really care one way or the other about lucious. wouldn't have upset me had he not signed.
  17. role players can certainly be worth a scholarship. and again, it's iowa state. it's not like they're doling out scholarships to role players and turning away mcdonald's all americans.
  18. yeah, i mean, i don't think sullinger is going to transfer to iowa state. they have to take what they can get. white was a big time prospect, allen could start for any B12 team, babb and booker are role players. what do you expect?
  19. Baffling. The guy has all the time in the world at ISU and he's acting like he has to make a big run in 2012/2013 or it's curtains. Outside of White he's bringing in JAG's. The SIU kid sucks and Babb and Allen are average. Luscious kind of sucks and you're tying up 2 years of scholarship so he can give you 1 likely mediocre year. I don't get it. yeah, they should save all those scholarships for 5'9", 145 pound white kids from fort dodge. and booker doesn't really suck. Wasn't aware it was an either/or. He has NBA GM's on speed dial man, right? He can find players. You're right. Booker racked up3.5 and 3.5 as a freshman and 6 and 4 as a sophomore while turning it over a bunch. In a one-bid league. He's awesome. didn't say he was awesome, but i don't think he sucks. he was a top 100 recruit, if i'm not mistaken. and it's not like he's going to be the centerpiece of the team. he'll probably be their 7th/8th man.
  20. and allen logged some substantial minutes for a pretty good mich state team and hit 40% of his 3's. i'm pretty sure the hawkeyes would take him.

  22. oh i would totally do this.
  23. this seems right this makes no sense to me.
  24. what is this, little league? that doesn't matter in the big leagues.
