  1. That's very much to be determined.
  2. Rex Brothers LHP Jr. L-L 6/1/2000 195 Does that mean conflicting reports or just some sort of typo?
  3. There's four 2000 LB players on that list. What does 6/1/2000 stand represent?
  4. I hope Lou can figure a way to blame this all on relievers allowing walks again.
  5. If you want to think that, fine, but there's no other explanation that makes a lick of sense.
  6. Shark is only going to face one batter today? That's pretty surprising to me.
  7. In partial defense of our pitchers.... walks seem to be up this year all over MLB. I wonder if they've put some pressure on the umpires to call the strike zone as it's described in the rules ???? If that were the case, shouldn't walks be down? The called zone is tighter than the rule book zone.
  8. Harden with a 9-pitch walk, he's probably getting close to take out time.
  9. It sure is a good thing this team is more left handed.
  10. I interpreted it as something very enjoyable.
  11. What is a guaranteed rainout forecast? And where did you see it? What I saw looked like what eventually happened.
  12. Well he did it. The money is relatively close to even. The goal was to get more LH, and the only RH bat that was replaced with a new LH bat coming in was DeRosa's.
  13. 4-years in Oct 2008 Jesus, Hendry really owes a lot to outgoing club presidents. Andy extended him like a month before he quit, then Kenney gives him another extension as his company approaches the end of the selling process.
  14. No, obviously not straight up, there were three minor league relievers involved.
  15. Nonsense. DeRosa's money was not the difference maker. the couple million difference between DeRosa and Miles this year could have been made up in a slightly different contract structure with Bradley. With both Miles and DeRosa off the 2010 books, they'd have had $2+m to factor into next year's payroll budget.
  16. Why would the sale get rid of Hendry? He got that extension. From the ownership in place. I'm hoping the new owner is smart enough to see what an awful job Jim has done and that basically all he has done is out spend the rest of the division. The extension makes that tremendously unlikely. What year is it through? I'm guessing new ownership gives Hendry this upcoming offseason, and his future will depend on where the team is by next June/July.
  17. Lefty plus misplaced trust in Reed Johnson plus desire to have a decent bench option against RHP late in the game.
  18. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1909 Bruce's blog:
  19. DeRosa would have been playing third while Aramis and Bradley were both out, and Miles would probably have been nowhere near the team.
  20. I really hope this team starts playing better before the Blackhawks get eliminated, because right now I'm not getting all that worked up or disappointed, yet.
  21. Jesus Christ, how much did you weigh when you graduated? Don't know, but I was 217 on the first day of two-a-days for football, 197 before my junior year, 175 before sophomore and 155 before freshman. And there were a couple guys who completely lapped me in the growth department.
  22. It's not 20/20 to call the 3 for Pierre trade absolutely horrible. It was predictable. No, none of the guys were Kazmir, but combined, they had significant value that was much greater than a piece of crap player like Pierre.
  23. The 4th round makes sense. That is where Jerry likes to target off the radar guys. Before that he may have a tendency to overdraft, but in the middle of the draft it's not at all unusual to think of him taking a guy that many people had going undrafted. The Melton guy is an example. When he was selected NFL.com didn't even have his basic measurements available, which tells me he was on very few people's radars for even getting drafted. That could have been Mitchell.
